Decrease because United States are still in debt because of the absurd spending on the military

 @BCMXT29 from Texas  answered…2mos2MO

 @BBFH74F  from Texas  answered…4mos4MO

I believe if people understood the lengths to which evil people are willing to go, to get power over us, then they would all agree that the military budget should be... very generous.

 @BBB2LRG from Texas  answered…4mos4MO

I believe increasing or implementing a military irs to inventory every transaction and contract to ensure fair trade would kill two birds with one stone

 @B9JXKQ9 from Texas  answered…5mos5MO

Decrease, though it would be unwise at this point currently, other things need to be done before military spending could safely decrease without risking greater future problems.

 @B9JTWFJConstitution from Texas  answered…5mos5MO

The United States military is extremely inefficient with spending and usually over-pay from contractors for weapons and parts. I believe that if the inefficiencies could be solved the budget wouldn't need to be risen and could be lowered.

 @B8VJ296 from Texas  answered…6mos6MO

It should be based on the current status. In conflict or if there is a possible conflict, then it should increase spending but otherwise only maintenance funds.

 @B86WQLPRepublican from Texas  answered…8mos8MO

decrease but they spend their money really weirdly so maybe fix the way they spend it and then see what happens

 @B7SDZB9 from Texas  answered…8mos8MO

Enough to make sure they have supplies, materials, and other needs to protect both the workers and what they work for.

 @B7BZ7QD from Texas  answered…9mos9MO

They spend too much money on the military and not enough on healthcare services or schools, the military is important and needs funding but so do healthcare facilities and schools.

 @B79DSZZ from Texas  answered…9mos9MO

Depends, We must budget our spendings for basic to complex needs, like schools, hospitals, military, and other departments, once that's balance, we can see if we can increase or decrease military budget spending.

 @B78JDJP from Texas  answered…9mos9MO

Decrease, it should decrease by at least 5 billion, that money should be spent on helping low income citizens.

 @B78J62L from Texas  answered…9mos9MO

Both increase and decrease as I'm satisfied with that spending btu should be reduced in the amount of materials that are not needed as they can be used to fund research programs within the military.

 @B6T7T8Y from Texas  answered…10mos10MO

I think an audit of how exactly they are spending their money first would be useful, then we decide, but no, they should not simply decrease spending.

 @B6M5R5JRepublican from Texas  answered…10mos10MO

Increase when needed for major wars, but keep the same if the war isn’t within the US or affecting it’s land

 @B4NYZ7GWomen’s Equality from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

The military spending should only be increased if needed, like if weapons need updating or if the equipment needs fixing

 @B3K5QDF from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

Decrease, add more funding to several other federal departments instead of continually adding more and more to military spending.

 @B3H9VTWJustice party member from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

Military likes their fat as Golden Corral budgets... but like... they don't actually need this sexy technology for everything, in fact many of their own pet projects at this point just don't work as effectively. Suggested by someone else: The more complex you make this, the more ways it can go wrong. Maybe it'll blow up in our faces by the time America has a conflict in the nightzone or something, hell if I know.
As for general spending, you could say that maybe the quality of training in the US is a bit less good than it used to in some aspects... Never the less, the military…  Read more

 @B2ZBYMD from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

if there are any threats to the citizens of america than there should be in increase in spending, in order to project the citizens.

 @B2JVSLF from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

I would prefer that the spending is better spent and $2000 is not spent on coffee pots, if we are spend more on basic supplies it should be on things that ensure the comfort and protection of the enlisted members

 @9ZZJY8P from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Spend as little as possible on defense while remaining the most powerful. Increase veteran benefits.

 @9ZZDFJLRepublican from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

They should update their software, more so to where online attacks don't happen. It has happened before and it would be better if we had a better protection against online attacks.

 @9ZS9JXL from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Maintain the amount of spending, but guarantee that spending is on Domestic protection, not funding wars

 @9Y5747V from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Increase the salaries and benefits of people that volunteer so we do not have to have a draft in wartime.

 @9XY2PYK from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

decrease to help the debt crisis and the economy, but not to much to where we are unsafe to foregn threat.

 @9XH2BN2 from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

They should have enough to get the supplies they need, and pay there soldiers

 @9XCF3DM from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9X626JR from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

yes because they work hard to save our country but limit their spending to not bother to states/ countries

 @9WRQKR6 from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

They should redirect some of the findings that are being wasted on non- important tasks and apply them to more important issues like supporting NASA.

 @9WKQDVYIndependent from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

We need to decrease spending even if that means we are unable to pay for things we need as it will force the private corporations to give our government fairer prices on these military technologies.

 @9WF2SXX from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

We need a strong military as prominent global power, but slightly reducing spending on it may be more beneficial in efforts to aid dire domestic issues; foster care, prison reform, schools, etc

 @9W5W6ZN from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Decrease, but try to keep most of the materials we already have while still sending that funding to other institutions

 @9W5NKPT from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

their military need trained and needs arms (weapons) to be used but they don't need to excessively spending fundings

 @9VNZHFC from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

decrease, but not by a lot. if the whole world decreases military budget by 1%, and use it towards homelessness or poverty- those issues will be solved

 @9VHTBZF from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Military spending should vary based in the situations and crises that the different miliary branches are dealing with at the moment.

 @9T5V2N5 from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

It should streamline the contracting process and eliminate the waste and fraud that makes current military projects cost far more than they should.

 @9SXQQ8ZLibertarian from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

A balanced approach ensures that national security is maintained while also addressing domestic needs and promoting a comprehensive strategy for global engagement.

 @9SFB9JS from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

yes but only if needed because if we are not going to war i feel that we should be ready but not over board ready.

 @9RM7Y3D from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

We need to go through our current spending and eliminate spending that isnt going to anywhere useful and ensure that funds are being used properly,

 @9QRJMB2Democrat from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Reallocate the current budget to increase funds for the VA and decrease bloat spending in other areas.

 @9PFSFZW  from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Increase, but do not increase funding for other nations under war. The country's defense system should only be used for the country only.

 @9M9Q433Progressive from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

It should depend on what we are doing are we preparing for war then yes if we aren't then no. If they want to fund a project then yes.

 @9M8TKCF from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Funding needs to return to Bonds by citizens instead of Loans by Government. The people should be involved and have a choice in what foreign conflicts we get involved in

 @9LQ5MFV from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

The budget is so big that we can definitely direct a couple million towards other struggling areas of our country

 @9LMNRZL from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, internally and internationally. In fact, the government should decrease the military overall. I get defense but lives do not need to be sacrificed for purpose of pride and politics.

 @9LFLF38 from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Decrease until the U.S. is more out of debt. Only decrease a little bit though and if that ends up harming the U.S. then we can increase it again and if it works we will keep slowly decreasing it until it is at a acceptable rate.

 @9LCNRML from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

I think we should have a major budget for the military but at the same time, look out for the people and not drain them of certain social goods.

 @9LBBVM2 from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Increase if the money being spent is going to the people within the country, but decrease if the money is going towards people of other countries where it isn't necessary.

 @9LBBVG3 from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Increase if it is being spent on our personal military within the country but decrease if it continues to be spent for foreign nations.

 @9KPSHLLRepublican from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Decrease slightly. We should still support our military but not to where it's comparable to the arms race.

 @9KKQ6VQ from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

They should do a better audit and cleanup of military spending. Also increase and make more efficiencies in VA spending

 @9KKJZXF from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

i think we should fluctuate the spending and put some more money into healthcare and education and rotate the major spending

 @9KJ222R from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Decrease, but only once current conflicts are mostly resolved and we can afford (metaphorically and literally) to do so.

 @9KD9QC3 from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Neither, keep the funding the same, but decrease the funding going towards active duty members, as in decrease the size of our military, and redirect that additional funds towards retired and ex military members.

 @9KCG5PS from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Decrease, because most countries have less spending and still have a strong military, and use the extra spending on free healthcare or things like that

 @9JQCDDW from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

yes they should increase it for our own country and for our own problems not other counties problems that we shouldn't be involved in.

 @9JQ22W9 from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

keep it for the current state of conflict in the middle east, but if it is ever resolved, then decrease

 @9JDNRL5 from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

well I do believe that the nation's spending habits are very greatly towards the military aspects and we should divert spending onto more returning endeavors

 @9JDCXZB from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Slightly reduce, the amount being spent on our military is too much, but they do still deserve funding.

 @9H2LQS2 from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

Neither, however the military should be prepared to adapt and expand spending as new technology emerges and as required circumstantially.

 @9GT6CYP from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

The government should give the military the amount of money that is necessary to protect the country.

 @9GNFBZK from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

if a war or battle were to brake out, then increase it. But if things are not different or nothing is in a major crisis, keep it the same.

 @9GC7GSZDemocrat from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

Increase, I believe that the U.S. needs to have more mental health resources and services for the military.

 @9G8YCHL from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

decrease some but you do not want our military to be weak in today's world where world war 3 could likely break out

 @9FRY39HDemocrat from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

Only when the country is no longer cash poor and has trillions in surplus. Also when congress learns to be adults and act their age.

 @9FNW4QG from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

Increase, but only at a rate that is necessary. Our military's our strong suit but should not be our focus.

 @9FNPL37Republican from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

The amount of funding should not change. As a lot of bills can pull from extra millitary funding. And in the current geo-politcal climate, if we were to go to war I want our millitary to be ready and have the funding it needs in case of this outcome.

 @9FMQ64K from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

i aint satisfied with the spending we need to spend less but on the correct things like paying our military men and women and not providing nukes for other countries.

 @9FJF5SM from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

Decrease, even if by a little bit. The sheer amount of spending we have already input is more than enough.

 @9FJ2N2D from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

Decrease because the spending should be focused on other causes like american citizens themselves.

 @9FGQGKW from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

We should be able to increase; however, we should pull out of useless places that are wasting funding and solve American issues more so than other countries.

 @9F9PHSJ from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

Increase, but only with actions taken to reduce price gouging by contractors.

 @9DQ5G69 from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

slowly decrease until our economy can handle not spending so much on military

 @9DK9XBP from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

 @9DFW4QD from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

 @9D9G2B8 from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

 @922FK4N from Texas  answered…4yrs4Y

 @9D2J3BD from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

Each State should have a vote on whether to increase or decrease military spending at the Federal level.

 @9BTK24N from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

Increase if we are going into war and also when we need better technology

 @96Q9YR2 from Texas  answered…4yrs4Y

 @96P8HZDIndependent from Texas  answered…4yrs4Y

The government should decrease military spending if our enemies are sufficiently weak, or close down bases located in low-priority areas, create better budgeting and focus on drastically reducing our deficit and focus more on research, development, and maintenance instead of acquisition. However military spending should increase if our enemies become a major threat.

 @96NRCTS from Texas  answered…4yrs4Y

 @96KKGGK from Texas  answered…4yrs4Y

 @96K4F4K from Texas  answered…4yrs4Y

the only reason to increase spending is to match that of other countries, preventing other countries from being stronger than us

 @96JNNMY from Texas  answered…4yrs4Y

I think they should cut it by a bit, and make it so if the military needs to make any large purchases/extra purchases they put in a request; therefore, hopefully get rid of overspending etc. The request they put in would be deemed necessery or not and that would determine if the military gets the money for said purchase.

 @96G4JW2 from Texas  answered…4yrs4Y

 @96FRXMP from Texas  answered…4yrs4Y

Increase, but ensure the money is going to soldier salaries and benefits

 @96DZCRJ from Texas  answered…4yrs4Y

The military spending goes to many aspects of protection, but there are definitely areas where spending could be cut down in small amounts.
