Should the United States increase or decrease military spending?
The U.S. military budge pays the salaries, training, and health care of uniformed and civilian personnel, maintains arms, equipment and facilities, funds operations, and develops and buys new items. The 2023 U.S. military budget is $773 billion, an increase of 4% over 2022’s budget. The budget includes $177.5 billion for the Army, $194 billion for the Air Force and Space Force and $230.8 billion for the Navy and Marine Corps. Other country’s 2021 military budgets were China $293 billion, United Kingdom $68.4 billion and Russia $66 billion.

Military likes their fat as Golden Corral budgets... but like... they don't actually need this sexy technology for everything, in fact many of their own pet projects at this point just don't work as effectively. Suggested by someone else: The more complex you make this, the more ways it can go wrong. Maybe it'll blow up in our faces by the time America has a conflict in the nightzone or something, hell if I know.

The government should decrease military spending if our enemies are sufficiently weak, or close down bases located in low-priority areas, create better budgeting and focus on drastically reducing our deficit and focus more on research, development, and maintenance instead of acquisition. However military spending should increase if our enemies become a major threat.

I think they should cut it by a bit, and make it so if the military needs to make any large purchases/extra purchases they put in a request; therefore, hopefully get rid of overspending etc. The request they put in would be deemed necessery or not and that would determine if the military gets the money for said purchase.
