increase just a little bit.
@B6T7T8Y2wks2W
I think an audit of how exactly they are spending their money first would be useful, then we decide, but no, they should not simply decrease spending.
@B6M5R5JRepublican4wks4W
Increase when needed for major wars, but keep the same if the war isn’t within the US or affecting it’s land
@B4NYZ7GWomen’s Equality5mos5MO
The military spending should only be increased if needed, like if weapons need updating or if the equipment needs fixing
@B3K5QDF7mos7MO
Decrease, add more funding to several other federal departments instead of continually adding more and more to military spending.
@B3H9VTWJustice party member7mos7MO
Military likes their fat as Golden Corral budgets... but like... they don't actually need this sexy technology for everything, in fact many of their own pet projects at this point just don't work as effectively. Suggested by someone else: The more complex you make this, the more ways it can go wrong. Maybe it'll blow up in our faces by the time America has a conflict in the nightzone or something, hell if I know.
As for general spending, you could say that maybe the quality of training in the US is a bit less good than it used to in some aspects... Never the less, the military… Read more
@B2ZBYMD7mos7MO
if there are any threats to the citizens of america than there should be in increase in spending, in order to project the citizens.
@B2JVSLF8mos8MO
I would prefer that the spending is better spent and $2000 is not spent on coffee pots, if we are spend more on basic supplies it should be on things that ensure the comfort and protection of the enlisted members
@9ZZJY8P9mos9MO
Spend as little as possible on defense while remaining the most powerful. Increase veteran benefits.
@9ZZDFJLRepublican9mos9MO
They should update their software, more so to where online attacks don't happen. It has happened before and it would be better if we had a better protection against online attacks.
@9ZS9JXL10mos10MO
Maintain the amount of spending, but guarantee that spending is on Domestic protection, not funding wars
@9Y5747V11mos11MO
Increase the salaries and benefits of people that volunteer so we do not have to have a draft in wartime.
@9XY2PYK11mos11MO
decrease to help the debt crisis and the economy, but not to much to where we are unsafe to foregn threat.
@9X626JR11mos11MO
yes because they work hard to save our country but limit their spending to not bother to states/ countries
@9WRQKR611mos11MO
They should redirect some of the findings that are being wasted on non- important tasks and apply them to more important issues like supporting NASA.
@9WKQDVYIndependent11mos11MO
We need to decrease spending even if that means we are unable to pay for things we need as it will force the private corporations to give our government fairer prices on these military technologies.
@9WF2SXX11mos11MO
We need a strong military as prominent global power, but slightly reducing spending on it may be more beneficial in efforts to aid dire domestic issues; foster care, prison reform, schools, etc
@9W5W6ZN11mos11MO
Decrease, but try to keep most of the materials we already have while still sending that funding to other institutions
@9W5NKPT11mos11MO
their military need trained and needs arms (weapons) to be used but they don't need to excessively spending fundings
@9VNZHFC11mos11MO
decrease, but not by a lot. if the whole world decreases military budget by 1%, and use it towards homelessness or poverty- those issues will be solved
@9VHTBZF12mos12MO
Military spending should vary based in the situations and crises that the different miliary branches are dealing with at the moment.
@9T5V2N51yr1Y
It should streamline the contracting process and eliminate the waste and fraud that makes current military projects cost far more than they should.
@9SXQQ8ZLibertarian1yr1Y
A balanced approach ensures that national security is maintained while also addressing domestic needs and promoting a comprehensive strategy for global engagement.
@9SFB9JS1yr1Y
yes but only if needed because if we are not going to war i feel that we should be ready but not over board ready.
@9RM7Y3D1yr1Y
We need to go through our current spending and eliminate spending that isnt going to anywhere useful and ensure that funds are being used properly,
Reallocate the current budget to increase funds for the VA and decrease bloat spending in other areas.
@9PFSFZW 1yr1Y
Increase, but do not increase funding for other nations under war. The country's defense system should only be used for the country only.
@9M9Q433Progressive1yr1Y
It should depend on what we are doing are we preparing for war then yes if we aren't then no. If they want to fund a project then yes.
@9M8TKCF1yr1Y
Funding needs to return to Bonds by citizens instead of Loans by Government. The people should be involved and have a choice in what foreign conflicts we get involved in
@9LQ5MFV1yr1Y
The budget is so big that we can definitely direct a couple million towards other struggling areas of our country
@9LMNRZL1yr1Y
Yes, internally and internationally. In fact, the government should decrease the military overall. I get defense but lives do not need to be sacrificed for purpose of pride and politics.
@9LFLF381yr1Y
Decrease until the U.S. is more out of debt. Only decrease a little bit though and if that ends up harming the U.S. then we can increase it again and if it works we will keep slowly decreasing it until it is at a acceptable rate.
@9LCNRML1yr1Y
I think we should have a major budget for the military but at the same time, look out for the people and not drain them of certain social goods.
@9LBBVM21yr1Y
Increase if the money being spent is going to the people within the country, but decrease if the money is going towards people of other countries where it isn't necessary.
@9LBBVG31yr1Y
Increase if it is being spent on our personal military within the country but decrease if it continues to be spent for foreign nations.
@9KPSHLLRepublican2yrs2Y
Decrease slightly. We should still support our military but not to where it's comparable to the arms race.
@9KKQ6VQ2yrs2Y
They should do a better audit and cleanup of military spending. Also increase and make more efficiencies in VA spending
@9KKJZXF2yrs2Y
i think we should fluctuate the spending and put some more money into healthcare and education and rotate the major spending
@9KJ222R2yrs2Y
Decrease, but only once current conflicts are mostly resolved and we can afford (metaphorically and literally) to do so.
@9KD9QC32yrs2Y
Neither, keep the funding the same, but decrease the funding going towards active duty members, as in decrease the size of our military, and redirect that additional funds towards retired and ex military members.
@9KCG5PS2yrs2Y
Decrease, because most countries have less spending and still have a strong military, and use the extra spending on free healthcare or things like that
@9JQCDDW2yrs2Y
yes they should increase it for our own country and for our own problems not other counties problems that we shouldn't be involved in.
@9JQ22W92yrs2Y
keep it for the current state of conflict in the middle east, but if it is ever resolved, then decrease
@9JDNRL52yrs2Y
well I do believe that the nation's spending habits are very greatly towards the military aspects and we should divert spending onto more returning endeavors
@9JDCXZB2yrs2Y
Slightly reduce, the amount being spent on our military is too much, but they do still deserve funding.
@9H2LQS22yrs2Y
Neither, however the military should be prepared to adapt and expand spending as new technology emerges and as required circumstantially.
@9GT6CYP2yrs2Y
The government should give the military the amount of money that is necessary to protect the country.
@9GNFBZK2yrs2Y
if a war or battle were to brake out, then increase it. But if things are not different or nothing is in a major crisis, keep it the same.
Increase, I believe that the U.S. needs to have more mental health resources and services for the military.
@9G8YCHL2yrs2Y
decrease some but you do not want our military to be weak in today's world where world war 3 could likely break out
Only when the country is no longer cash poor and has trillions in surplus. Also when congress learns to be adults and act their age.
@9FNW4QG2yrs2Y
Increase, but only at a rate that is necessary. Our military's our strong suit but should not be our focus.
@9FNPL37Republican2yrs2Y
The amount of funding should not change. As a lot of bills can pull from extra millitary funding. And in the current geo-politcal climate, if we were to go to war I want our millitary to be ready and have the funding it needs in case of this outcome.
@9FMQ64K2yrs2Y
i aint satisfied with the spending we need to spend less but on the correct things like paying our military men and women and not providing nukes for other countries.
@9FJF5SM2yrs2Y
Decrease, even if by a little bit. The sheer amount of spending we have already input is more than enough.
@9FJ2N2D2yrs2Y
Decrease because the spending should be focused on other causes like american citizens themselves.
@9FGQGKW2yrs2Y
We should be able to increase; however, we should pull out of useless places that are wasting funding and solve American issues more so than other countries.
@9FDCY9N2yrs2Y
@9FBQC6Z2yrs2Y
I think it is fine where we are at.
@9F9PHSJ2yrs2Y
Increase, but only with actions taken to reduce price gouging by contractors.
@9DQ5G692yrs2Y
slowly decrease until our economy can handle not spending so much on military
@9DK9XBP2yrs2Y
Neither in certain ways it should be used better
@9DJLY8JWomen’s Equality2yrs2Y
If they need the gear but if not no.
@9DFW4QD2yrs2Y
Really whatever is needed during that time.
@9D9G2B82yrs2Y
Decrease, and use military less in unnecessary situations.
@922FK4N3yrs3Y
Neither, unless the U.S. enters armed conflict
@9D2J3BD2yrs2Y
Each State should have a vote on whether to increase or decrease military spending at the Federal level.
@9BTK24N2yrs2Y
Increase if we are going into war and also when we need better technology
@984BF7F3yrs3Y
as needed to protect the country
@96Q9YR23yrs3Y
they should be able to protect us with the newest technology
@96P8HZDIndependent3yrs3Y
The government should decrease military spending if our enemies are sufficiently weak, or close down bases located in low-priority areas, create better budgeting and focus on drastically reducing our deficit and focus more on research, development, and maintenance instead of acquisition. However military spending should increase if our enemies become a major threat.
@96NRCTS3yrs3Y
Depends on if there is an emergency or something else coming up.
@96LRFCL3yrs3Y
Both increase and decrease.
@96KKGGK3yrs3Y
i think spending on what the military actually needs
@96K4F4K3yrs3Y
the only reason to increase spending is to match that of other countries, preventing other countries from being stronger than us
@96JNNMY3yrs3Y
I think they should cut it by a bit, and make it so if the military needs to make any large purchases/extra purchases they put in a request; therefore, hopefully get rid of overspending etc. The request they put in would be deemed necessery or not and that would determine if the military gets the money for said purchase.
@96J29WM3yrs3Y
Increase and invade cuba
@96G4JW23yrs3Y
depends if we are in an active war or not
@96FRXMP3yrs3Y
Increase, but ensure the money is going to soldier salaries and benefits
@96DZCRJ3yrs3Y
The military spending goes to many aspects of protection, but there are definitely areas where spending could be cut down in small amounts.
@96CJRDG3yrs3Y
Keep it as it is, raise it if we need it
@969SSMD3yrs3Y
Decrease, but be increased when needed in times of war
@965S2X8Independent3yrs3Y
Decrease a bit and put more into social programs.
@965LKLV3yrs3Y
Increase because the progression of human knowledge is the most valuable thing.
@965CYCL3yrs3Y
As long as my taxes go into a cruise missile that may or may not be sent into a Syrian hospital.
@963937G3yrs3Y
they need to spend more money on the familys with someone lost to war to take care of them
@962LZ693yrs3Y
Increase, but the extra funding should be used to raise the salaries of the soldiers.
@95Z74753yrs3Y
satisfied with the current amount of spending
Neither, we already do spend a lot of money on it so we should spend on other things that need to be prioritized
@95QZMMK3yrs3Y
@95QWFT23yrs3Y
Ideally, It should be decreased
@95PN9JF3yrs3Y
Increase pay to the soldiers but everything else in spending is fine
@95PMWGW3yrs3Y
Increase funding until the 6th generation fighter jet is finished, and to upgrade the A-10
@95NCXRRLibertarian3yrs3Y
Only if its necessary, like war
@95MRGWV3yrs3Y
if really needed during times of an uproar like what is going on in ukraine and Russia
@95L8YBR3yrs3Y
Depending on the worlds situation
@95K3GLP3yrs3Y
should shift military spending to actually helping soldiers during and after serving
@95J2Q9P3yrs3Y
It’s appropriate to spend and be ready, though the money should definitely be well spent at the very least. Otherwise, it’s reasonable.
