Should the government increase or decrease military spending?

Increase, but only during wars.

This question is based on a false premise of arbitrary budgeting. Our military spending is not determined by a percentage of GDP or political negotiation. It is determined by the Doctrine of Sufficient Defense. The President-Regent, as military commander, will assess the credible threats to the Republic. The Assembly of Stewards will then allocate the exact amount of funding required to provide a defense so strong that no enemy would dare attack. If the threat increases, spending will increase. If the world becomes more peaceful, spending will decrease. The budget is dictated by the reality of the threat, not the other way around.

More of the funding should go to the actual soldiers that are fighting, rather than just government officials and high ranking officers collecting all the revenue or spending it on stupid things.

I think we should focus more on statewide military and veterans. The funding should be more focused on the mental and physical wellbeing of current and past military members.

i would say decrease it just a little to help us with getting more money after taxes since it goes to the military

it all depends on the later yes in the past if they had used the money right and wisely then yes they should be able to get a little more. but if they had been irresponsible, then no they shouldn't.

Military funding is higher than necessary in some departments and to low in others but it should not be changed because if funding is not being used in full the government will naturally decrease it anyways

Regardless, the nation should not have a standing army in times of peace. During peace time the military should be a labor force for public good.

Every Country that we deal with comes with their hand out. I’m for helping the Ukraine but I’m not so sure about Israel.

I think whatever is best, I think it is important to support the military and their financial need but only things that are very important.

They should only increase if they need to. They also need to be sure that they keep research on their equipment and keep it updated. The government should not give out as much equipment to other countries.

I think our spending is bordering on excessive amounts, but I think it is reasonably important to have some degree of spending, but 600 billion per year is absolutely excessive sounding.

We have thr stongest military for a reason, but cutting back on spending a tad will not hurt us. it woluld help put money in other areas, like healthcare and education.
