Have a budget for the spending on the military to prevent dictatorship to save money for in-country issues.

 @8NCWRL9 from Arizona  answered…6yrs6Y

Neither, there is so much waste of funds in the military. That’s what should be fixed

 @9F48C64 from Arizona  answered…3yrs3Y

Decrease slightly, there are many other important things that taxes can go to in the country.

 @9F453HL from Arizona  answered…3yrs3Y

 @9D8B6B5 from Arizona  answered…3yrs3Y

They should rework the budget, They are incentivized to spend the allotted budget. Instead, they should be incentivized to only spend what they need and adjust budgets every couple years to decrease or increase the budget

 @9D7X2Z8Peace and Freedom from Arizona  answered…3yrs3Y

Decrease for now because taxes have been getting really high and then once needed raise them but not past as high as they've been learn to spend the money more wisely.

 @9D6FQVQ  from Arizona  answered…3yrs3Y

I'm unable to speak to this, We need a armed and ready military. That said, what is spent and where it's spent is such a large topic, that we need to have review of that with studies on the effectiveness of spending areas before budgets are increased or decreased.

 @9D4Q8GW from Arizona  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, A governments' prime responsibility is to protect its citizens from physical harm. This is the reason governments were invented.

  @100thSheep  from Arizona  answered…3 days3D

Fraud, waste and abuse is responsible for the majority of government spending. We need to investigate and imprison violators and spend these allocations accordingly with strict oversight.

 @BDWC8QB from Arizona  answered…2wks2W

 @BDSBZZ4 from Arizona  answered…3wks3W

I believe that the Defense Department should re-prioritize what the spending goes towards, whether or not it increases or decreases the budget.

 @BDQVQ2V from Arizona  answered…3wks3W

 @BDQV4Y7 from Arizona  answered…3wks3W

 @BDFNCFSNo Labels from Arizona  answered…1mo1MO

Neither, but the spending should be transparent, only for the United States Military and it's personal and dependents and for no other entities.

 @BDCPSNP from Arizona  answered…1mo1MO

 @BD9R9J2 from Arizona  answered…1mo1MO

 @BD8SYVY  from Arizona  answered…1mo1MO

It should decrease in some respect due to the country's high debt, but should be enough to feed, supply, repir or build equipment, and arm the troops.

 @BD5VZ94 from Arizona  answered…2mos2MO

 @BD59NR3 from Arizona  answered…2mos2MO

 @BD4KXT6 from Arizona  answered…2mos2MO

I think they should increase here and their and it all of time because they should spend some on other things for the state.

 @BCYKJV6No Labels from Arizona  answered…2mos2MO

Neither, instead look into improving the efficiency of our already-large and inefficient spending, and reallocate funds for expensive systems with relatively poor capabilities to subsidize innovation for new technologies and capabilities when appropriate

 @BCWHC72 from Arizona  answered…2mos2MO

 @BC97V97 from Arizona  answered…3mos3MO

Increase but we also need Beter regulation, so the money is spent Beter and not just binge wasted the government shoed not be scammed and shoed be more Beter research and development.

 @BC3H7HPProgressive  from Arizona  answered…3mos3MO

It should only be focused on defense and there should be refurbishment programs to keep existing military equipment in shape.

 @BB8NVRV from Arizona  answered…4mos4MO

Drastically decrease military spending, pull out prescence out from all other nations, and act solely as a humanitarian force to actually defend the U.N. human rights.

 @BB6RMJK from Arizona  answered…4mos4MO

not opposed to more spending depending where the funding is going, more geopolitical funding for diplomacy or international relations is worth ethe extra funding.

 @BB4WGS3  from Arizona  answered…4mos4MO

I think before we make the decision whether to increase or decrease we need to track how much money is truly being used in a positive way for the country in order to see what is truly needed.

 @BB3LBRJ from Arizona  answered…4mos4MO

High spending for the military is important, but the efficiency of this spending must be reviewed and controlled. Some of this funding is not going to the right places.

 @BB2GNRTIndependence from Arizona  answered…4mos4MO

The military is extremely important, but whoever is in charge of military spending needs to give people a break down of what they spend on what. After all it’s our money that funds military.

 @B9ZRMV9 from Arizona  answered…4mos4MO

Reduce number of overseas bases drastically by 80-90%. Use military personnel to improve US infrastructure similar to army corps.

 @B9YPTTW from Arizona  answered…4mos4MO

I think we should lower the spending just enough to support other important issues in the country, because the military is already one of the best and we spend way too much on it rather than important issues in our country.

 @B9YPK34Peace and Freedom from Arizona  answered…4mos4MO

Neither, there are too many homeless people n the United States as it is that isn't getting any form of help.

 @B9WHX6N from Arizona  answered…4mos4MO

Decrease, but only to the point where there is no unnecessary excess of spending. Maintain a strong military.

 @B9VTMS9 from Arizona  answered…4mos4MO

Decrease by rigorous counter-corruption methods to eliminate current leakage and deter misconduct going forward

 @B9V6KTL  from Arizona  answered…4mos4MO

Remove the waste spending. The military spends money hand over fist. Better systems need to be put in place to ensure the spending is absolutely necessary and prove it.

 @B9QWRHKIndependent  from Arizona  answered…5mos5MO

if there's a reason to increase have it be elaborated, if there is less overall benefit as compared to spending elsewhere than keep the budget the same or decrease it.

 @B9NN5S9 from Arizona  answered…5mos5MO

Decrease spending but not drastically, enough to keep our position as a world power but also where funds can be directed more towards americans

 @B9LC9BS from Arizona  answered…5mos5MO

Decrease, we should sell off our surplus equipment to Allies, NATO and Non-NATO. And Modernize our current weaponry.

 @B97C2LQNo Labels  from Arizona  answered…5mos5MO

This should be properly assessed by analysts who can adjust the spending upon shift in global affairs.

 @B8ZDTQL from Arizona  answered…6mos6MO

seek a mutual milatary peace across the war so all countrys and contenets can use milatary money to help the country itself.

 @B8X4LXD from Arizona  answered…6mos6MO

We have to keep up with our political adversaries so we always need to spend more which we are currently doing anyway.

 @B8WS4MX from Arizona  answered…6mos6MO

Increase, this should only be used for proper training to keep American troops, but not to make us extremely powerful.

 @B8RSYWQ from Arizona  answered…7mos7MO

I think we should still fund to the military, however we need to watch that were not over budgeting and giving lots of money away to other countries.

 @B8QKCMC from Arizona  answered…7mos7MO

only for guns and medical supplies since it think the military has enough equipment to protect the USA (which are planes and nukes)

 @B8D4FBK from Arizona  answered…7mos7MO

The decision to increase or decrease military spending is complex, as it involves trade-offs between security and other social programs

 @B89Z852 from Arizona  answered…7mos7MO

i think they need to regroup and rethink their spending in the military and what is important to spend it on

 @B7Z46LK from Arizona  answered…8mos8MO

I believe that the government spending which benefits the civilians serving in the military should not be affected, but I believe that any other spending on weapons, war equipment, and any attacks or support on attacks should be decreased.

 @B7RPGZJ  from Arizona  answered…8mos8MO

Increase, but only for students of the military. Specifically ensuring the full payment of students schooling when they choose to be in ROTC for instance after one full year and sign a contract of dedication.

 @B7PTYLC from Arizona  answered…8mos8MO

Close foreign bases Return to the homeland Cut the budget to 200 billion for the defense of home and property

 @B7LP97D from Arizona  answered…8mos8MO

Military spending should increase or decrease depending on the situation at the southern border, among other factors.

 @B7G9VZF from Arizona  answered…9mos9MO

i think it depends on what they are spending it on.Because it can be beneficial for the army cause there are times when they need it but there's times when they dont so it depends.

 @B775NQF from Arizona  answered…9mos9MO

decrease, since we already spend more than other countries and instead spend that money where we need it more and maybe get less national debt

 @B6ZQPHM from Arizona  answered…9mos9MO

I think the context matters, and as we are entering a particularly hostile time in the world, i think our spending should match that.

  @B6RYXZ6  from Arizona  answered…10mos10MO

GREATLY DECREASE, and for however long they were getting over 100billion, money should be given to the people AND or Black people as the decedents of slaves nor the freed slaves themselves got any sort of reparations

 @B6P784V from Arizona  answered…10mos10MO

Decrease where spending is most inefficient and Increase where it will significantly prepare us for future conflicts.

 @B6MFXJ8 from Arizona  answered…10mos10MO

yes, but should depend on whether its necessary or not. refrain from military spending unless necessary

 @B6GHNDQ from Arizona  answered…10mos10MO

Instead of increasing spending, the government should strive for increased efficiency to promote a decrease of spending.

 @B6G4D7ZSocialist from Arizona  answered…11mos11MO

Decrease, I believe if I am someone who is against the military for personal reasons and have my tax paying dollars be used for military it shouldn't be used

 @B6FYFTL from Arizona  answered…11mos11MO

Military spending should fluctuate with the current state of the world. In times of peace, military spending should drop so that while we are allowed to prepare for the possibility of war, but without overspending, while during tense times it should increase as we begin to prepare much more for the possibility of war.

 @B6F9LX5 from Arizona  answered…11mos11MO

I think it should decrease, but not a big amount, just enough so that the money can go to the rest of the country to improve.

 @B5W7RB6 from Arizona  answered…12mos12MO

I worked in defense and the procurement process needs to be more efficient as all military expenses should be. We spend too much on projects that get cancelled.

 @B5BLTM8 from Arizona  answered…1yr1Y

I think it should slow down for a while, helping to pay for other things in the US, then go back to spending money on the military

 @B593HHK from Arizona  answered…1yr1Y

They should increase it a bit just so we have more equipment and vehicles and the requirements that they need.

 @B4VD453 from Arizona  answered…1yr1Y

Increase. However, they should stop contracting our to civilian companies and completely bring it back to military business and responsibilities. Housing, Moves, TDY, any contracts that involve civilians.

 @B4PFJPF from Arizona  answered…1yr1Y

Increase, but only if the additional money goes to military personnel pay increases, funding VA, better health care for veterans

 @B4LPMTC from Arizona  answered…1yr1Y

While I believe that it's good that our military gets more funding than other countries, more should be done to ensure that the soldiers themselves are fully supported so they don't end up homeless.

 @B4HHP6M from Arizona  answered…1yr1Y

I think the government should decrease military spending but not drastically. They still need a good amount of funding but I do not think they need billions of dollars worth of spending.

 @B4DRDT5 from Arizona  answered…1yr1Y

I think the military should be funded as long as it is used correctly and morally and as long as the country is not continuing to build up dept for no apparent or good reason.

 @B4DLHGS from Arizona  answered…1yr1Y

I think that the government should continue to fund the military, unless the military is not using it properly.

 @B4DKXSK from Arizona  answered…1yr1Y

if they're not doing well financially well fund them, but if they're good on certain periods then that money can go towards other government things

 @B4BK4TW from Arizona  answered…1yr1Y

We need to increase military spending, but we also have to cutout wasteful spending. There is no reason that when we pulled out of Afghanistan that we left pallets of US money and military equipment on the ground for the Taliban to seize for use against us. That makes no sense at all. The military should be required to provide documentation for every dollar spent. Agencies like the CIA and NSA should also have to get approval from the intelligence committees in congress for all money being spent. Everyone on the intelligence committees have top security clearance, but those agencies should have to explain everyone of their programs and operations for what they are spending money on to make sure the funds are being used ethically.

 @B48NSQPPeace and Freedom from Arizona  answered…1yr1Y

Increase, only because in our day in age I personally feel like that we are not prepared to go to war if necessary.

 @B3L8DC2 from Arizona  answered…1yr1Y

while I do believe Ethan it is important to have a well funded military,there is also other thing s that the funding could go towards, some being more important than military

 @B2ZBN4P from Arizona  answered…1yr1Y

Decrease, with an audit on where the spending is going so current budget is utilized less frivolously.

 @B2RL97D from Arizona  answered…1yr1Y

The government needs to spend more on the peace full side of the military. The feeding the poor the immunization of the sick .

 @B2BMGMJ from Arizona  answered…1yr1Y

I feel like some veteran benefits are insanely high, so those should be lowered (reasonably). And government shouldn't pay for Viagra.

 @9ZZ4XY9 from Arizona  answered…2yrs2Y

Increase, but stop giving money to other countries outside of the United States that don't concern us/our situation.

 @9ZZ4MZB from Arizona  answered…2yrs2Y

I feel like it should be decreased quite a bit since a lot of money goes to the military when it could be used for the country as a whole.

 @9ZVFP2LNo Labels from Arizona  answered…2yrs2Y

the way the funds are spent need to change more than the bottom line spent. supposedly 25 percent of the budget goes to military persons. that should be higher and the increase should go to the people on the front lines, and veterans.

 @9ZKCGJP from Arizona  answered…2yrs2Y

Spending needs to be better allocated and distributed. In general the government tends to overly provide for military spending inefficiently.

 @9ZH6GVS from Arizona  answered…2yrs2Y

Increase - at the same time pay for it by stop giving welfare to other countries Especially countries that hate us.

 @9Z9PV5D  from Arizona  answered…2yrs2Y

I think the government should get out of wars that bureaucrats start and the spending will correct its self.

 @9Y7FBMN  from Arizona  answered…2yrs2Y

Massive fair/neutral audit and reform to get rid of waste and poor spending practices. Then reevaluate military budget and increase if needed.

 @9Y6KJ5S  from Arizona  answered…2yrs2Y

Decrease, they waste money on things like day of flights and being on other countries so those other countries don't spend their own money

 @9XYKRMY from Arizona  answered…2yrs2Y

We have the most powerful military in the world right now. I believe a greater military budget would be useless right now.

 @9XPVFHB from Arizona  answered…2yrs2Y

Decrease unless they provide more benefits to veterans. And use more funds for health and education.

 @9XLFP6Z from Arizona  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9XKM89T from Arizona  answered…2yrs2Y

The government should increase the military spending, if they are officially having war with another country.

 @9XJWV98 from Arizona  answered…2yrs2Y

It should fluctuate depending on the need for the military to function and how necessary they will be in the near future

 @9WW8L57 from Arizona  answered…2yrs2Y

The government should have more transparency with how these funds are allocated before increasing or decreasing

 @9WFLBMH from Arizona  answered…2yrs2Y

it depends on what the popularity with foreign country's, for example if war is bound to happen i believe an increase of government spending is a necessary

 @9WF3HJK from Arizona  answered…2yrs2Y

i think that we should possibly decrease it, but put the money into other things that need it, like schools, and homes.

 @9WBDKCQ from Arizona  answered…2yrs2Y

We need an audit of current spending and to reform the procurement system. Spending should be held about the same.

 @9W2FN9P from Arizona  answered…2yrs2Y

Neither for now, but if the US were to get involved into a major world conflict, then the budget should increase and stay that way even after the conflict is over
