Yes I believe that the government is spending to much tax dollars on the military when it could be used to better the public

 @9ZGJWKZ from Hawaii  answered…10mos10MO

Decrease, but redirect the money that is saved to fund other programs like public works and social services.

 @9WVVVVYForward  from Hawaii  answered…10mos10MO

Decrease. I'm not against the military in general, but I think we could divert some of the spending on it to more important issues at home.

 @9XBTB8B from Hawaii  answered…11mos11MO

Neither. The government needs to emplace more checks and balances on current spending. Some products cost triple for the government vs if I went and bought the identical item at a commercial store.

 @9WJNZRB from Hawaii  answered…11mos11MO

I feel the government should decrease military spending and redirect that money to other things like healthcare.

 @9WFCD6WWorking Family from Hawaii  answered…11mos11MO

decrease and how off a bit to see where we are and how we do with spending less money and if needed, find a way to find more affordable solutions.

 @9T36B68 from Hawaii  answered…1yr1Y

Depends on our stance when it comes to war, whether we or our allies are in hot water. Though this does not mean we shouldn't have the funds, just don't overfund it.

 @9RG4745 from Hawaii  answered…1yr1Y

neither. but the enlisted militRy members should have better pay and the spending on militia and weapons being sent to other countries should decrease.

 @9MZ33H7 from Hawaii  answered…1yr1Y

Neither, instead audit the DoD and place restrictions on government contractors to stop price gouging

 @9LKN95QWomen’s Equality from Hawaii  answered…1yr1Y

I think that they should keep it the same. If they are not willing to lower it, keep it the same. If they are willing to lower it, then lower it. I think there are more important things that we should be spending the money on.

 @9L7V8V4 from Hawaii  answered…1yr1Y

Neither, our focus should be to increase the production and devoplment of cost effective weapons and munitions

 @9KW6DNB from Hawaii  answered…1yr1Y

I think they should decrease when there is no war or battle going on, but increase when the time comes for the need of the military. With decreasing there would be more money to better our country and provide better care, not just protection from other countries.

 @9JZHZKB from Hawaii  answered…2yrs2Y

We are spending our taxes to aid other foreign countries then our own. STOP SENDING OUR MONEY TO FOREIGN COUNTRIES

 @9JFQDB7 from Hawaii  answered…2yrs2Y

Funds should be spent more appropriately. Better contracts and prevent businesses from gouging the government to purchase specialized items.

 @9F3HDFM from Hawaii  answered…2yrs2Y

Funding should be adjusted either up or down as necessary to accomplish the mission of protecting the American People.

 @9DPCG7K from Hawaii  answered…2yrs2Y

Decrease and use the resources in other agencies/programs that would decrease the need for such a powerful army.

 @9D76XSVDemocrat from Hawaii  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9D5R7ZHLibertarian from Hawaii  answered…2yrs2Y

Increase if necesary. Take care of troops, pay them well. Lock in benefits above military projects (currently the military will cut medical/pay/Benefits to keep a weapon system funded. Lock it so DOD MUST fund troops at the expenmse of jets, tanks etc) Penalize companies with the threat of nationalization if they keep having costy overruns and balloning prices, yet there profits never go down. We are not offsetting their cost, we are increasing their profits. We lack ship building infrastructure and cant hit our NAVY ship goals because they closed down 2-4 shipyards.

 @995FXC8Independent from Hawaii  answered…3yrs3Y

Decrease, we've entered a slippery slop where there is an incentive to maintain war and foreign conflicts for profit. There's many ways to win wars without having the most amount of tanks and airplanes.

 @95RQQV2 from Hawaii  answered…3yrs3Y

If the military spent more money on the quality of life for the servicemembers and less on failed projects, false promises, and theoreticals then the spending wouldn't be seen in such a poor light. Either decrease spending or draw back the military.

 @94XSBJ6 from Hawaii  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes but only with huge congressional oversight and removing of pork spending on useless things the military does not need (ie equipment that is not effective for our modern military but lines the pockets of defense contractors and politicians)

 @948HY6Z from Hawaii  answered…3yrs3Y

decrease but slightly towards current extremely important issues like climate change

 @937LDZJ from Hawaii  answered…3yrs3Y

Keep as is and do an audit and reorganize the distribution of funds to meet real needs within the DOD.

 @8YQJ9BP from Hawaii  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8YCWCXS from Hawaii  answered…4yrs4Y

i think it would be good to spend more but not enough to tip the balance of the money people have in the US

 @8Y8X3NJ from Hawaii  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8Y7XLFV from Hawaii  answered…4yrs4Y

it should increase, but increase for the people that are coming out of the military so that they have a chance in the world

 @8Y7X7PZ from Hawaii  answered…4yrs4Y

They should only allow whats necessary, if they don't need to spend a lot then good but if they need to spend to protect then yeah.

 @8WDDWZT from Hawaii  answered…4yrs4Y

Reduced waste and increased efficiencies are more important then a straight increase or decrease in spending.

 @8VY4XF7 from Hawaii  answered…4yrs4Y

I feel like they should keep it to where it is not spending too much but at the same time spending enough they need nothing extra.

 @8TSHPPS from Hawaii  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but only if the funds go to military member wages and to the quality of military base buildings and services.

 @8TRQLKL from Hawaii  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8TKPLNN from Hawaii  answered…4yrs4Y

Remain the same, but the military needs to re-prioritize and reallocate where the money is going

 @8TBYYDQAmerican from Hawaii  answered…4yrs4Y

We should adjust funding accordingly depending on how much we might need it for anything

 @8T8XQ8X from Hawaii  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8SQCJ8B from Hawaii  answered…4yrs4Y

Increase if we are at war. But neither in general right now. But they can divert their spendings to provide and help our homeless veterns.

 @8QSN59R from Hawaii  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8Q9WVMT from Hawaii  answered…5yrs5Y

I think that it depends, if you're going to war/risking your life then yes increase. But, if you're just sitting in an office all day, no.

 @8Q5CHYR from Hawaii  answered…5yrs5Y

Increase the military money given to the people in the military. Costs should be reasonable.

 @8MB8B8F from Hawaii  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8LVBYZ7Independent from Hawaii  answered…5yrs5Y

Increase funding for Behavioral Health services while decreasing in areas that are over funded.

 @8LS98X6 from Hawaii  answered…5yrs5Y

stay the same but increase or decrease depending on the actions of other countries

 @8L7LJMT from Hawaii  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8KYC8X8 from Hawaii  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8KJPBZV from Hawaii  answered…5yrs5Y

Neither, but there needs to be better oversight and more efficient spending

 @8KHRBYX from Hawaii  answered…5yrs5Y

Decrease, but only after corrupt military officials have been weeded out. If we decrease funding before that, it will only decrease funding in needed areas while corrupt higher ups still line their pockets.

 @8K4HXYR from Hawaii  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8JK3MHC from Hawaii  answered…5yrs5Y

They should use the current amount of spending but if can try to lower the spending amount

 @8J6TGRL from Hawaii  answered…5yrs5Y

The military needs a full change up decrease spending but also change its law system and pay more for the soldiers serving.

 @8HM9B6KRepublican from Hawaii  answered…5yrs5Y

I am satisfied with the current amount of spending but it should be spent better.

 @8HM9B6KRepublican from Hawaii  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8H7P9BM from Hawaii  answered…5yrs5Y

Existing military budgets should be reworked to provide maximum usage for non combative essentials

 @8CLP2T4Progressive from Hawaii  answered…5yrs5Y

Should increase pay for service members and reduce spending on defense contractors

 @8CL9X3V from Hawaii  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8CJBNK7 from Hawaii  answered…5yrs5Y

Money should be spent equally in all areas that money is desperately needed

 @8CBYSGY from Hawaii  answered…5yrs5Y

 @9BGJQCP from Hawaii  answered…2yrs2Y

depends what's going on in the country, but right now we should keep it the same

 @9BDZCWK from Hawaii  answered…2yrs2Y

It depends on the circumstances, the US army's military spending is very expensive.

 @9BCKDKT from Hawaii  answered…2yrs2Y

Well it all depends because the military has an important job that takes care of us but we can also use the spending for other things like for education and stuff.

 @9BCK7VFGreen from Hawaii  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9BC3QD9 from Hawaii  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9BC2WZJ from Hawaii  answered…2yrs2Y

I think neither, it should only increase the military spending when it necessary and have reasons.

 @9BC2PDLDemocrat from Hawaii  answered…2yrs2Y

I am both for and against it, I feel I do not have enough information to make an educated decision but I will say cutting down on the money might be good.

 @9BC2NG8 from Hawaii  answered…2yrs2Y

I don't believe in spending over 100% of other countries budgets but I believe we must spend as much necessary to keep our military on the top rank. If we don't we will be threatened especially with people knowing the power we have and power around us. As soon as the power goes we will be threatened.

 @9BBYCW2Republican from Hawaii  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, because as the war between Russia and Ukraine has been growing more and more, the US might have to interfere and stop the war as they already gave about 7 billion dollars to Ukraine already to aid for more military defense and healthcare.

 @9BBWKWYRepublican from Hawaii  answered…2yrs2Y

 @99Q4YRQ from Hawaii  answered…3yrs3Y

Neither, funds should be redistributed across the current military budget, For instance amount allotted towards information warfare ( hacking) but decrease in other areas that are not as pressing to our nations security

 @99HRKPG from Hawaii  answered…3yrs3Y

 @99GR33C from Hawaii  answered…3yrs3Y

Some of the spending needs to take better care to the veterans. Its not fair that they give their all to serve their country but they are not taken care of by the same government they fought to protect lives and rights.

 @98JTJMZ from Hawaii  answered…3yrs3Y

 @98H98RS from Hawaii  answered…3yrs3Y

The government needs to analyze the spending on government contracts and such.

 @98F4DWW from Hawaii  answered…3yrs3Y

 @97C8Z44Independent from Hawaii  answered…3yrs3Y

While I support a hearty budget for the DOD, I feel like there are too many overpriced government contracts.
