Should the government increase or decrease military spending?

So long as we can afford it military defense spending is limitless and should be encouraged as one of the 4 essential functions of government per Milton Friedman.

Increase, but do more to make sure it's not squandered on drastically overbudget or wasteful programs, like the Littoral Combat Ship as an example

I dont think I am qualified to really have an opinion on for I fear the effects of the decrease in spending but at the same time find the exhorbitant spending ridiculous

i think military spending should be geared toward research of new military technology and technology that would more efficiently and quickly produce said technology if needed in an instant

I think if there was a war or something we should increase it but like right now I don't see a need in increasing it

Military spending should be reviewed annually. We need a strong military however contracts for the military should be opened up for review and not limited to the few select suppliers

its hard to say because as of now we don't really need it as much but what if we do get in a war we will probably.

I think that important things like health care should be given a bigger funding, to better match our military.

I think that military spending is relative to what is going on. for example if we are in a war or assisting another countries we should increase it but if we are in a time of peace then we should just keep it the same.

I think the united states should increase it to obviously like fight our enemies but at the same time I feel like us gets to involved in foreign conflicts that it has nothing to do with and it just ends up killing more people. so I would Increase it if there were guarantees the USould not get involved in conflicts it does not need to get involved in.

I think it should stay as it is neutral. they already spend enough money on military and we shouldn't spend less because military is our national defense.

It depends on the state of the world. If there are multiple wars that could affect us, yes we need increased spending. But when there is peace, we don't need money. Spending should decrease heavily.

There should be a certain amount of spending, if we go into war, yes increase spending, but in time of peace money could be put towards other programs. They should also work to pay the people working more and make reusable military weapons.

I am neither satisfied nor dissatisfied with how much the Us government spends on military budget although I do believe less spending could potentially open the door up for more money to the US citizens rather it be for roads, schools, housing etc.

If we're at war, or there is a present danger, then yeah increase it, but if not, lower it somewhat to be able to fund other things. It's not a bad thing to be prepared, but you also don't need to overpack for a trip.
