I think military funding should be temporarily decreased in order to pay off our deficit, and then once that issue has been handled should go back to current, or even higher spending

 @B6TDZ5X from Mississippi  answered…1wk1W

We don't need to up the military spending while in peacetime. If we go to war and need the extra spending then yes.

 @B42N4JL from Mississippi  answered…6mos6MO

The government should drastically reduce military spending considering we have no external threats in order to conserve money to spend on universal education, housing, and healthcare.

 @B3TPRT6 from Mississippi  answered…6mos6MO

We obviously need a well funded spending for our military but I don't think that we need to have so much military spending because it will cause other consequences that might be bad for the nation.

 @B2JS52Z from Mississippi  answered…8mos8MO

The government shouldn't increase or decrease but support the military by caring for their families and overall beings.

 @B27GNMM  from Mississippi  answered…9mos9MO

The amounts of money going to each area of "military spending" should be clearing defined and publicly available. Then, funding should be adjusted accordingly.

 @9ZTP8V7Independent from Mississippi  answered…10mos10MO

Having a large budget to ensure a well trained military force is not the issue. Government officials that have track records of an inability to make wise decisions, are fools with finances, are immoral in character, coordination and fund unjust operations and agencies. Etc. Are the more foundational issue.

 @9ZDNYPQ from Mississippi  answered…10mos10MO

I think it depends on the current climate around the world in regard to the likely hood of potential war breaking out.

 @9YD476K from Mississippi  answered…10mos10MO

they should decrease it but only by a little so we still have the best military so that we can have a better life

 @9XHCL94Democrat from Mississippi  answered…11mos11MO

Increase, but only by a bit because we need to spend more on education and other community programs.

 @9WXMBSCIndependent from Mississippi  answered…11mos11MO

Govt should revise wasteful contracts and paying inflated prices for weapons and equipment so that any budget is more efficiently applied

 @9WFRG2P from Mississippi  answered…11mos11MO

Pull all US Military out of bases in foreign lands. Save a ton of money. Stop being the world's police on our dime.

 @9W3M36TLibertarian from Mississippi  answered…11mos11MO

i personally think that it would be fine if they did increase it but they don't have to if its not needed

 @9TBF3W8Republican from Mississippi  answered…1yr1Y

Increase in regards to our own military for defense… not sending billions of dollars to other countries.

 @9RR53BM from Mississippi  answered…1yr1Y

Neither, but veterans should have more care available to them. They have less opportunity than illegals.

 @9RJG2P5 from Mississippi  answered…1yr1Y

In terms of military service member pay I agree. With the defense budget I could see using it on useful things that can save money but not on useless military projects and or resources.

 @9NDKXPR from Mississippi  answered…1yr1Y

Neither, but do a substantially better job of tracking where the money is going and how it is being spent. Any government entity should never fail an audit.

 @9NBGH5L from Mississippi  answered…1yr1Y

I worked as a civilian for DoD. Military spending takes up a majority of the Federal Budget. There is a lot of overlap, wasteful spending and not utilizing human capital.

 @db from Mississippi  answered…1yr1Y

If we prosper and have a surplus, increase for defense/peace through strength causes. For now pull out of foreign wars and slightly reduce military spending by less than 5%

 @9M2KCZ6 from Mississippi  answered…1yr1Y

Unless there is an immediate threat to our national security, we do not need to raise military spending.

 @9LQ5TR6 from Mississippi  answered…1yr1Y

Decrease, due to the military using all of the fundings the people of the U.S.A need just to go and try to defend another country in a war we had no part of.

 @9L92GJ2 from Mississippi  answered…1yr1Y

We as a nation should decrease spending from NATO and increase our own military spending from that money

 @9L2QV2J from Mississippi  answered…1yr1Y

The spending for the military is fine but we need to make sure congress is not fattening the pockets of corporations with useless items the military didn't request.

 @9JS99KQ from Mississippi  answered…2yrs2Y

depends on whether we are in a period of conflict where war and other conflicts are possible or not.

 @9GNW6RC from Mississippi  answered…2yrs2Y

I think that the military should be able to spend whatever they have to, as long as it is to keep us safe

 @9GM3HMS from Mississippi  answered…2yrs2Y

Depends, if we are in a time of peace we can reduce military spending to focus on other things like better medicine or education, but if there are tensions between countries we should increase it to prepare for the worst.

 @9G9WKCQ from Mississippi  answered…2yrs2Y

Increase so we can keep our military the strongest in the world and that no other country surpasses it.

 @9FTYYBW from Mississippi  answered…2yrs2Y

The federal government should maintain a strong military but not at the expense of quality of life of it's citizens. There is a balance that should both show a strong stance to the world but also not be so big as to cost more than is needed.

 @9DZKSC3Green from Mississippi  answered…2yrs2Y

We need to evaluate what speeding is being used for and then divert funds to appropriate departments.

 @9DJK2MZLibertarian from Mississippi  answered…2yrs2Y

Decrease, but to the amount that all funding is spent, there should be no unused funds

 @9DHRSB7 from Mississippi  answered…2yrs2Y

Depending on what is active with our country. It should have a big budget in case of threats but also should not be a bottomless pit. However, it should have the flexibility to be increased if truly needed.

 @9DBSYVYRepublican from Mississippi  answered…2yrs2Y

increased, why would we decrease the funding for the people keeping us safe?

 @9D7QLMD from Mississippi  answered…2yrs2Y

Increase, especially in those areas that more effectively provide for the national defense in an ever-changing technological world. All proposed military spending should face the most intense auditing to make sure contractors are not trying to take advantage of the U.S. government.

 @9D5WHV4 from Mississippi  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9CC3XJ3 from Mississippi  answered…2yrs2Y

Neither, we should take the money in parts of the funding and put it towards other parts of the military area.

 @9B959P2 from Mississippi  answered…2yrs2Y

Make minor cutbacks to the military, such as 100-150 Billion. They remain an important asset but spending is too high in some cases.

 @96XBNT3 from Mississippi  answered…3yrs3Y

Increase; but prioritize rules of engagement (specifically to protect & defend the Homeland).

 @96K8TXN from Mississippi  answered…3yrs3Y

when needed maybe increase military spending but not necessarily increase it just to say we increased it

 @95PZGWD from Mississippi  answered…3yrs3Y

It depends on what is happening if a problem is happening yes if not no

 @95HKBN5 from Mississippi  answered…3yrs3Y

 @95C9P92Constitution from Mississippi  answered…3yrs3Y

The government should reduce requirements for our forces and reduce funding to match.

 @94C4TTZ from Mississippi  answered…3yrs3Y

 @93L666V from Mississippi  answered…3yrs3Y

 @93KXJX4 from Mississippi  answered…3yrs3Y

Let the American People vote on military spending, and have them make the decisions instead of the federal government.

 @92FJW9K from Mississippi  answered…3yrs3Y

Decrease, as our military power is far greater to any other nation to such an extent that decreasing military spending in order to benefit domestic issue would be more beneficial to the nation as a whole

 @8ZVTDYT from Mississippi  answered…3yrs3Y

Decrease, and redirect funds to be more efficiently used without cutting out military benefits.

 @8ZLXFLF from Mississippi  answered…4yrs4Y

I think if we need to increase it if we are in a certain situation but if it is not needed we should not do it.

 @8Z89T7HRepublican from Mississippi  answered…4yrs4Y

Our current spending level is acceptable, however we should get more for our money by reforming the bidding system that enables waste and fraud and instead manufacture munitions using military employees.

 @8Z62BDQ from Mississippi  answered…4yrs4Y

Neither, but funds should be reallocated to increase lower ranking individual's wages

 @8YX732V from Mississippi  answered…4yrs4Y

It depends on what they will do with the money, but ultimately I think increase.

 @8YW9P5L from Mississippi  answered…4yrs4Y

They are given certain resources based on their budget and use it all in training so that they don't lose budget, so I think they should implement a spending sin or cos type of curve based on war spending vs training/non-war spending times.

 @8YSFF2W from Mississippi  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8YG85P5 from Mississippi  answered…4yrs4Y

Decrease, we do NOT need as big of a military as we do. Reallocate it to social programs.

 @8WTJ5FCAmerican from Mississippi  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8WPNZP2 from Mississippi  answered…4yrs4Y

Increase, but with far tighter controls on how money is spent to decrease the amount of waste and focus on upgrading our capabilities.

 @8WD88ZN from Mississippi  answered…4yrs4Y

Keep the spending amount the same but use it strictly for furthering our military.

 @8VPRR27 from Mississippi  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8VCY78XTaxpayers from Mississippi  answered…4yrs4Y

since the country wants to fight fights that couldve been avoided spend more money on millitary

 @8V7YY8B from Mississippi  answered…4yrs4Y

Military should decide. I trust them. They will do what is best to help them serve the U.S.

 @8TWW4RN from Mississippi  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8SWBGDZ from Mississippi  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8SSKJMB from Mississippi  answered…4yrs4Y

Slightly decrease the spending, but audit and lean the military to streamline it as much as possible.

 @8RMQJCP from Mississippi  answered…5yrs5Y

it depends on the type of war when they are fighting insurgents it should be a light and mobile force. when they are fighting a large organized military they should be a more large mass that can fight of large amount of enemies.

 @8RJSKLG from Mississippi  answered…5yrs5Y

I think we should focus on spending money on priorities and cut back when there's room to cut back

 @8RHH4KH from Mississippi  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8R65XRP from Mississippi  answered…5yrs5Y

If we can't abolish the federal government, we should pay the military personnel more, and spend much less on pork barrel contracts.

 @8QS3CQD from Mississippi  answered…5yrs5Y

Need to see the budget, expense reports, etc in order to make an informed decision on this

 @AHHHHHHH from Mississippi  answered…5yrs5Y

Decrease, and divert that funding to social programs that better serve the people of the United States
