Yes, but make it congruent with other successful countries, such as Japan's top income tax rate of 56%.

 @domkowskikj  from North Carolina  answered…9mos9MO

It depends on who is considered rich and poor depending on their income, dependents, and living situation.

I would keep the income tax and get rid of the sales tax or lower it so people are able to afford things

 @9XYQLQHSocialist from Wisconsin  answered…11mos11MO

I feel like you can increase taxes on the rich but there will always be a loophole and yes lower tax for the poor

 @9XKH5RP from Pennsylvania  answered…11mos11MO

The rich should definitely be in higher tax brackets but the corporations the rich own are very important and can contribute to the health of American citizens so we shouldn't raise taxes on their businesses. The taxes the rich pay shouldn't be raised to absolutely absurd amounts.

I believe the tax system is completely broken. We all should pay our fair share of taxes on every bracket of income. Why should a person who has worked all their life and has become wealthy due to this have to pay more of a percentage than someone who has only started to work, I do believe that if everyone paid 5% of every dollar they make our society/government would quickly have a surplus rather than be in a deficit.

 @9WHGW2LRepublican from Virginia  answered…12mos12MO

Yes and no because rich people are the same human beings as everyonre, but it depends on what house they live.

 @9W3DVCK from Virginia  answered…12mos12MO

Overall collected tax for each and everyone should be about 5-10% of their income. Don't raise for rich or lower for poor. Because the rich will still be paying more than the poor because 5% of the rich's income is more than 5% of the poor's income.

I feel like we should remove income tax all together, but lower property taxes, and slightly higher sales tax. Why tax the rich when we run a free market and everyone has the same opportunities you have to work hard for anything you want but when they make their dreams true through hard work why tax them.

 @9SP6MV7 from Arkansas  answered…1yr1Y

I think they should remove the loop holes that the rich are able to use to avoid paying high taxes not just raise them

 @9RY68XMIndependent from Arkansas  answered…1yr1Y

No, but close the loop holes available to individuals and companies with larger oversight of these tax payers.

 @8TTL2MVRepublican from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

No, lower the income tax rate and remove all deductions and loopholes for the wealthy

 @9D35GLC from Pennsylvania  answered…2yrs2Y

NO. 1) Abolish Amendment 16, The Federal government is a :LEGALIZE PLUNDER AGENCY of ARMED ROBBERY by the FORCE OF GOVERNMENT! 2) IF an income tax is necessary it should be a FLAT COMMON single percentage of ALL EAERNINGS (ex. 10% of all earnings. Make $1.00 pay 10¢.)

No, but increase taxes on those making more than 10,000,000, lower taxes for everyone else and remove all existing loopholes. Over time as the federal government’s deficit decreases we should decrease taxes

 @8TTL2MVRepublican from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

No, but increase taxes on those making more than 10,000,000, lower taxes for everyone else and remove all existing loopholes.

Reform to eliminate deductions and loopholes as well as lowering income tax rate

 @97FGVTVIndependent from New York  answered…3yrs3Y

No, mandatory taxes should not exist. However, those who choose to refrain from paying the tax for that public service wage year should be prohibited from that service or charged a larger fee upon use

 @8G4Q6KZ from Iowa  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, and lower taxes for the poor. Large corporations and all individuals should not have be allowed loopholes that prevent or dramatically reduce taxes.
