Yes, but it should fund other companies so that mental health care is not in the hands of one political party at a time who could use this.

 @9ZKD4HQ from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but only because getting a therapist is very hard these days, and we need to make areas for people to go to get their counseling

 @9W2FH2F from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Therapy is not a valid treatment anymore and community and connection should be exalted over this institution. Through places such as church or other centers, peoples mental structure will become increasingly healed.

 @9VT3X5V from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but only after eliminating funding for other agencies and programs that the American people rely on the least.

 @9VP88VRDemocrat from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

The government should not look to either increase or decrease funding, it should instead look to make it more efficient.

 @9VLG465 from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but requiring free mental/physical health testing before providing care, to ensure the system does not get abused.

 @9V6JBS7 from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, there should be easier access to mental health resources. Insurance companies should be obligated to treat mental health concerns the same as any other medical issue.

 @9TZZHW4 from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

in some cases like true mental deformities but nothing like gender or believing you something your not.

 @9JQDZFX from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but this should be against real mental health issues, like elevating public quality of life to prevent suicidal-related or causing conditions, as well as complete delusions such as "gender identity" or whatever.

 @9HSG9WV  from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

The government's involvement in others' sorrows is not their problem, they need to worry about running the country.

 @9HNVFDB from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

I am unsure of whether the overall funding for this reserach and treatment should be increased or decreased, in order to decide I would have to look at the specific cost allocation and further analysis. I do believe we should institute a single-payer healthcare system that includes free of cost mental health treatment.

 @B95XSHN from Texas  answered…6mos6MO

Yes, however there also needs to be a change in the whole system that need to focus on the well-being of the citizens like creating opportunities for living wages and jobs, etc.

 @B5ZL23YIndependent  from Texas  answered…11mos11MO

No, However, privatized healthcare should be held to standards that ensure affordability and accessibility for mental health care. Additionally, Eastern medicine and holistic practices should be recognized and made available as treatment options, providing individuals with a broader, culturally inclusive range of care choices.

 @B5CDNL2 from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

Yes and No I think they should expand somewhat but also draw out of other parts of the mental health world.

 @9T8LRSH  from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

yes and no because some people are taking advantage of it and making false disability claims. Even though it can higher the rate for our care and services

 @9GMTD23 from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

Leave mental health to privatized insurance but redirect the focus of the public education system and add government incentive while leaving the states to decide what is appropriate to teach

 @9FMTTGV from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

 @9F4JK49  from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

I don't think there is a yes or no because I support the treatment for mental health, but I think if there is too much funding then the issue arises that more people will assume they are more ill than they are because of the popularity scale it brings

 @9DQQ6LH from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

 @9D5GR6M from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

 @B8FNQTH from Texas  answered…7mos7MO

I think that there should be more funding to provide higher quality care for people with real mental health issues; however, I believe that many people abuse the system and there should be more requirements met for disability claims.

 @B83J5FSIndependent from Texas  answered…8mos8MO

Leave it to the states, but regulate what they can and can not pass. The state can decide on whether they need the government's funds or not .

 @B6TP2T9 from Texas  answered…10mos10MO

Yes, and reopen mental asylums and state mental hospitals for the violent, transgender, and criminally insane.

 @9LZ2GPK from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Only if researchers are not paid for by lobbiest or political activists like the LBGT movement. Many psychology institutions and boards have been bought and paid for to get the outcomes the financial provider is looking for.

 @8GDNNWL from Texas  answered…6yrs6Y

Yes, our mental healthcare system needs more funding to provide a higher quality of care and services and increase funding for personalized care instead of subsidizing pharmaceutical companies

 @95XVG7D from Texas  answered…4yrs4Y

 @94S6946Libertarian from Texas  answered…4yrs4Y

they should increase funding for the research and treatment, but not make it cost more.

 @93CJPKX from Texas  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, create a more robust healthcare system in general while also creating incentives for private insurers to address the issue.

 @8ZWPR3Z from Texas  answered…4yrs4Y

I think more so for cancer, autism, etc... but if someone just has anxiety or depression of course get help but it shouldn't be the top priority

 @8Y5JCJL from Texas  answered…4yrs4Y

The importance of mental health in this country should not be placed I the hands of the government. Something so critical to the stability of this country should not be delegated to the same bureaucrats that run USPS, IRS, and every other incomprehensibly inefficient program run by the government.

 @8WWR9F2 from Texas  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, but only increase funding for personalized care instead of subsidizing pharmaceutical companies, and our mental healthcare system needs more funding to provide a higher quality of care and services

 @8VZFPBR from Texas  answered…5yrs5Y

Anything that is being "funded" by the government should be audited - the government has not money- they take it from the tax payer- they should be more responsible with my money- use it for the intended purpose

The mental hospitals need to be improved in our country. They are more like prisons, and do not help what so ever. Trust me, I know.

 @8QLV8TX from Texas  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, but not directly (perhaps they can do fundraisers), because we need to get out of debt.

 @8Q5KTPG from Texas  answered…5yrs5Y

Take federal subsidizing funding from pharmaceutical companies and give it to this research.

This is for the private sector to tackle solely on its own. The government should stay out of health research and funding.

 @8CZDRRZ from Texas  answered…6yrs6Y

Mental health research and treatment needs a full audit and reform. Mental health treatment is extremely difficult and easily exploited in ways that are harmful to the individual, leading to dependency on mental health prescriptions and patients who are just given a drug and sent out the door rather than finding proper treatment and therapy.

 @8CVJJVWAlliance from Texas  answered…6yrs6Y

Yes, I am against healthcare for all but mental health is so misunderstood and unknown that I am almost for it for that aspect. I believe it is a national crisis and emergency.

 @97YZNGB from Texas  answered…4yrs4Y

The government is using the data during polling and it's a social engineering experiment.

 @97WG3HQ from Texas  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, so long as the total amount spent on healthcare as a whole does not exceed 20% of total government spending, excluding social security spending; and does not require deficit spending

Yes, our national culture has an unhealthy view on things like introspection and treating your mental health. This has caused so many lives that could've been lived better, if at all. If you want businesses and this country to work their best, the actual people in it have to feel their best. Invest in people.

 @8NY4BWF from Texas  answered…6yrs6Y

This is. a much larger question than yes vs. no. Depends on the mental illness, what the plan to help individuals would be and what happens with the research?
