No, legalize marijuana & increase funding for addiction prevention and rehab. Establish a flat marijuana tax of 3%

 @B73QV2C from Illinois  answered…9mos9MO

Decriminalize drug use, but still have drug dealing be a crime. We should give people opportunities to detox and go to rehab if addicted to drugs.

 @9V3NGJJLibertarian from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but impose taxes on recreational drug use, at a level adequate to compensate for the related social costs and personal harm to victims.

 @9LMN8KK from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

No, it should not be completely decriminalized, but effort should be made in harm reduction and less harsher sentencing for non-violent drug crime.

 @9H3CR5LProgressive from Illinois  answered…3yrs3Y

Decriminalize drugs and spend the money used for enforcement on treatment programs, mental health and job creation.

 @9DFJHG2 from Illinois  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, but only with certain drugs and the addition of taxation and regulation as was originally attempted with cigarettes

 @9D87YGB from Illinois  answered…3yrs3Y

We should not try to normalize drugs as they are still harmful. However, we should looking the potential positives that weed my provide.

 @95PZ2YTLibertarian from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes for most drugs, not all drugs, and retroactively reduce sentences for those already serving time

 @946MB4P from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

yes for some drugs, retroactively reduce sentences, and offer free rehab

 @92P6Z4P from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

Allow narcotics and other safe drugs that are helpful for pain control to be unregulated and private between the doctors and patients.

 @927T3W4 from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes All drugs should be legal and taxed, that would drive people away from the drugs and would even make the government some money.

 @8ZZ7PZB from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

I think on some drugs it should, some it shouldnt it really just depends on the drug and what specifically a person was charged for in relation to the drug

 @8Y29MJP from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8XBMP4PAmerican from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

All drugs should be made “legal” but made by the government properly so less people suffer long term effects and people that buy harder drugs should be recommended for rehab, and money that would no longer need to go to prisons could help make rehabs better and more effective

 @8WZ52BJ from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

weed is not bad let it be legal to sell and use in any area public or not unless you are around children under the age of 18 or those who have asthma

 @8WMRPGNIndependent from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

Ideally I would prefer to see alcohol illegal as well, but as long as that remains impractical to do it will also remain impractical to have drugs such as marijuana to be illegal; all it does is create a black market

No. Increase funding for addiction prevention and rehabilitation. Do not arrest people who have had possessions of drugs with them but do not have a history, or can prove that the drugs are not theirs. Increase the punishment for drug dealers.

No, only drugs that offer medicinal benefits such as marijuana and release all other drug offenders in prison and put them in a rehabilitation program instead of having them rot in a cell. This will cut down our prison incarnation rate and free up prison space for more violent criminals.

 @8D56ZWG from Illinois  answered…6yrs6Y

Yes, for some drugs. Also retroactively reduce sentences for those serving time while also increasing funding for addition prevention and rehab.

 @8CH7426 from Illinois  answered…6yrs6Y

No, but some drugs should be decriminalized and treated similarly to alcohol.

 @9CKQ92Y from Illinois  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, and give more funding to rehab centers and addiction prevention

 @9B5CJ92 from Illinois  answered…3yrs3Y

 @98X9TLF from Illinois  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, and legalize all drugs. And highly regulate businesses that would sell these drugs. Keeping very close eyes on their inventory to prevent illegal exports/imports. And require 50% of net earnings to be paid to the government. With this money used to publicly fund free drug rehabilitation centers.

 @97VZXVK from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

No, but reform sentencing to provide treatment and rehabilitation instead of prison time

 @97LR2Q8Libertarian from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but only decriminalize drugs that offer medicinal benefits such as marijuana and increase criminalizing such as cocaine and meth.

 @932ZJNL from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes lesser drugs like marijuana but not hard drugs like cocaine. Drug dealers caught should face prison time

 @932TLWV from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

Decriminalize marijuana only and retroactively reduce sentences of those already serving time

 @8QLT2HH from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, but when drugs become abused by users and creates problems and lead to crimes, then it becomes a problem.
