Are you in favor of decriminalizing drug use?

In 1970, Congress passed the Controlled Substances Act which banned the manufacture, importation, possession, use and distribution of certain drugs. The act ranked drugs by their potential for abuse and placed them into five categories. Two of the most widely used drugs in the U.S., wine and alcohol, are exempt from the classifications. Ballot measures in several states including Colorado, Washington and Oregon have decriminalized possession of small amounts of marijuana. These laws apply only within the respective states and have no effect on Federal law.

Yes. But not Schedule I and II drugs, and increase punishment for drug dealers, retroactively reduce sentences for those already serving time,

It severely depends on the drug. For example, marijuana is now being shown to have adverse long-term effects that were unknown until it was legalized in many states.

No, increase punishment for drug dealers, reduce punishment for drug users, and increase funding for addiction provention and rehabilitation.

Yes and no. Instead of immediately giving them a harsh punishment implement a warning system where on the first offense they get finned, on the second offense they get a few months of jail time, and on the third offense they get a few years in prision

we should decriminalize drugs and provide rehabilitation services to those found with drugs in their system, on their person, or in their possession. we should also reduce sentences and provide rehabilitation to those already serving time for drug related crimes (aside from drug dealing)

Yes, but only for the ones that can't cause major damage and we should fund more programs that help prevent and educate about drug abuse and addiction

People who have a drug addiction should receive help from a psychiatrist, psychologist, or counselor at a drug rehabilitation clinic instead of being locked up in jail or prison.However, people who are drug dealers should be arrested, tried in court, and be sentenced if they are found guilty, according to the laws that the state that the crime happened in has.Also, drug use should not be decriminalized if it is used for medical use.

Yes, but only for some drugs such as marijuana and other THC or CBD related drugs. Not drugs such as cocaine or heroin.

Yes, I believe that if drug use is already a problem and lets face it will continue to be a problem, I think that these drugs like heroin or meth should be made in a lab to at least make it safer than it is.

A Moment of Darkness': Washington Post's No-Endorsement Decision Ignites Media Firestorm

Even though the presidential race between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris is neck and neck, The Washington Post has decided not to make a presidential endorsement for the first time in 36 years, the publisher and CEO announced Friday."We are returning to our roots of not endorsing presidential candidates," Will Lewis wrote in an opinion piece published on the paper's website. He referenced the paper's policy in the decades prior to 1976, when, following the Watergate scandal that the Post broke, it endorsed Democratic nominee Jimmy Carter. The last time the Post did not endorse a presidential candidate in the general election was 1988, according to a search of its archives.Colleagues learned the news from the editorial page editor, David Shipley, at a tense meeting shortly before Lewis' announcement. The meeting was characterized by someone with direct knowledge of discussions on condition of anonymity to speak about internal matters.Shipley said that he told other editorial board leaders Thursday by management that there would be no endorsement, though he has known for weeks. He added that he "owns" this decision. The reason he cited was to create "independent space" where the newspaper does not tell people for whom to vote.Colleagues were said to be "shocked" and uniformly negative.
