Yes, but on drugs like marijuana, and I would favor punishing drug dealers and producers who produce potent, fatal strands of drugs.

 @BB44FJ5 from Texas  answered…4mos4MO

I think if its a certain ammout of a drug, or like hard drugs you should be charged. but if youre just smoking weed i feel like you shouldnt be doing 25-life.

 @B2D3G9R from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

We should reduce the penalty for drug use but have better education and therapy used to help citizens understand proper healthy living, diet, exercise, childhood trauma, work/life balance, and proper relationships that they may be using drugs to escape from or to self medicate.

I do not think drugs are a criminal offense unless violence, theft, or physical harm is conducted but more a physiological issue.

Some drug use such as marijuana should be decriminalized, however, harder drugs should still be criminalized and there should also be more funding for addiction prevention and rehabilitation.

 @MJStevens94Republican  from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

No, I would favor the legalization of marijuana for medical and recreational but support heavy regulations on the drug.

 @9N7MXRW from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but implement public rehabilitation centers that provides clean needles and optional help available should they wish to get clean.

 @9K4FRBGAmerican Solidarity from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes. I think people addicted to drugs don’t deserve 40 year prison sentences but often feel those people who advocate drug decriminalization forget about prosecuting drug dealers

 @9GFLKMM from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, and free all non-violent drug offenders and legalize as well. Also, socialize the production, distribution, and exchange of drugs

 @9DDKZHS from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

Penalties and sentences should be lessened, and more resources should be funded for rehabilitating and prevention centers.

 @9BMBXGC from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

 @95MTR4H from Texas  answered…4yrs4Y

Decriminalize Marijuana, increase funding for prevention and rehabilitation

 @8YMJFQ6 from Texas  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, and provide avenues to purchase safe drugs and programs to help with drug use

 @8XS7YGZ from Texas  answered…5yrs5Y

If it’s marijuana it should be legal. If other drugs show a potentially medically acceptable use then decriminalize those but regulate them. Even marijuana needs to be like alcohol is

 @8XHG5WMLibertarian from Texas  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes for marijuana and retroactively reduce/forgive sentences for those already serving time. Hard drugs like heroin, cocaine, etc. should remain illegal because they are dangerous and significantly more addictive.

 @8XGC9HY from Texas  answered…5yrs5Y

We shouldn’t decriminalize drug use. We need to decriminalize marijuana for its medical benefits and provide harsher sentences for drug dealers and increase funding for addiction prevention and rehabilitation

 @8W6BGGX from Texas  answered…5yrs5Y

No and do investigation on the government for selling drugs in america

Yes, but only for safer and medicinal drugs. All other drugs that lead to harm shall have an increase in punishment

 @8L5SPBS from Texas  answered…6yrs6Y

Yes, for most but not all, and retroactively reduce sentences for those serving time.

 @8L55R25 from Texas  answered…6yrs6Y

Only marijuana should be decriminalized but those serving time for drug charges should also have lesser sentences.

 @8HRHKGF from Texas  answered…6yrs6Y

Prohibition doesn't work and only serves to fill for profit prisons.

 @8G6VJS8 from Texas  answered…6yrs6Y

Yes, and increase taxes for recreational drug use. Do not decriminalize drugs like Fentanyl or synthetic drugs that are proven fatal.

 @8DSQNCQ from Texas  answered…6yrs6Y

I support medical marijuana but yes I think there should be more on bad drugs

 @8DS66QD from Texas  answered…6yrs6Y

All drugs should be fully legalized (some can still be regulated).

 @8D8YNNHIndependent from Texas  answered…6yrs6Y

Yes, for most but not all drugs. Treat addiction as a mental health issue, and retroactively reduce sentences for those already serving time.

 @8C98LLJ from Texas  answered…6yrs6Y

That entirely depends on what falls within the category of "drug". I think that individuals who have become dependent on drugs need to be treated for mental and physical health disorders rather than imprisoned as criminals. I think that the systems luring people into harmful drug use need to be reformed. I think there are those involved in drug circulation who should be considered criminals and brought to justice appropriately. And I think America needs to consider significant changes to our legal/justice system, education system, medical system, and business models for the sake of the holistic health of our citizens.

 @8C72R2D from Texas  answered…6yrs6Y

We need more mental health programs at lower cost. This should include drug treatment programs. I would go so far as to say that they should be covered by single-payer health insurance.

 @9CTYG9F from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, and retroactively reduce current serving sentences and increase punishment for drug dealers.

 @99R3CS3Independent from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

Let scientific consensus determine which drugs should be legal or illegal, and focus on rehabilitation over incarceration for those which are illegal.

 @99B6QYP from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, and retroactively wipe the criminal records of anyone previously or currently incarcerated for possession of drugs

 @97X3D49 from Texas  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but only for drugs with proven health benefits and non-adictive drugs.

 @94Q4BHQ from Texas  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, drug use, but not for crimes ensuing due to such use, nor for dealing drugs illegally. Crimes committed under the influence should not receive different penalties from those committed not under the influence, either.

 @9D6CLKV from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, the war on drugs was & is a failed war , use the tax revenue to fun addiction centers and mental health treatment

 @93CS3TH from Texas  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, based on evidence, the focus should be on rehabilitating those suffering from addiction.
