no, but they should provide more scholarships opportunities for low-income students and they should provide lover interest rates for student loans.

 @8RZSTBC from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

No but provide lower interest rates and provide more scholarship opportunities for low income students, make college cheaper.

 @8D4P8F6 from Illinois  answered…6yrs6Y

No, the government should not be involved in the education system. Allow corporations to dictate curricula based on their needs and allow them to offer scholarships based on that need

 @BDF39M5 from Illinois  answered…1mo1MO

Only on government jobs or for first responders to help close the need for them

 @BD5VM3YDemocrat from Illinois  answered…2mos2MO

Student loans should be interest free and bankruptcy should alleviate burden.

 @BBFX3M9Independent from Illinois  answered…4mos4MO

The government should not regulate student loans , a loan is a loan and we should be free together the type we want.

 @B9994CT from Illinois  answered…5mos5MO

depends on the students situation, due to the high price tag on college many students struggle/end up in a major amount of debt

 @B93CWJTIndependent from Illinois  answered…6mos6MO

Free education should only be provided for public schools and colleges, by the state they located in, with Federal help.

 @B7SMNMZ from Illinois  answered…8mos8MO

The government should allow all people who want a higher education to get one but it still needs to save money so it should give financial aid, give more scholarship opportunities, etc.

 @B7R4VRY  from Illinois  answered…8mos8MO

No, and student loans should be removed as well. That way, universities will have to lower their price, as the reason why college tuition had become so expensive in the first place is because the government had allowed these loans, meaning that the college could make their price as high as they want because people will have to take out the loan anyway, creating tons of issues.

 @B79WBLC from Illinois  answered…9mos9MO

No, that is the duty of the states. However, they should provide more scholarship opportunities and lower interest rates on student loans for all students, but especially low-income students.

 @B76DR5WRepublican from Illinois  answered…9mos9MO

Everyone deserves an educational opportunity, but it should be earned rather than given to everyone, so one must prove themselves and have a true ambition for change and success so not just purely academical rigor but the mindset matters as well.

 @B72F285 from Illinois  answered…9mos9MO

No, there are alternate options than 4-year college and the money would be better spent on public schools.

 @B6SCRYN from Illinois  answered…10mos10MO

No, instead it should be non-subsidized, as, at least to my understanding, much of the problem of college pricing comes from there

 @B6K5WBC  from Illinois  answered…10mos10MO

Honestly, it depends on how much money the government has, cause if they pay for every student's loan, then it would put us into a much larger debt, and if anything, the cost of going to college should be lowered, cause in my opinion, the price is kinda ridiculous.

 @B4ZSH38 from Illinois  answered…1yr1Y

I agree with Pell grants as that is beneficial for many people to complete their education, however, having the government pay completely for your entire college education is extreme. Especially because, you will have great students who will graduate within the 4 years, and then you may have some who struggle and it will take longer.

 @B324V4M from Illinois  answered…1yr1Y

Government should cover part of tuition for every student and colleges should provide financial aid depending on wealth/income so that students/families only have to pay a small portion to attend school

 @9YGKF7Z from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, if it is a citizen wanting to attend a public college and the student lives within that schools district or region

 @9Y2Z9RT from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

No but interest rates need to be lowered, college cost needs to be lowered and scholarships need to be increased for all, not just low-income students. An "average" student in a top ranked high school gets less consideration than a high gpa student in a low ranked school.

 @9XR3CSQ from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

Only for degrees that will be beneficial for the development our our technology. Trades school should be added too.

 @9XL4FGW from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

No, the college should pay and they should lower the interest rate for student loans and provide college either for free, or at a really low price.

 @9X7C3XM  from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

No, but FAFSA should reflect student's actual ability to fund school as well as multiple students in a family, NOT assume that a student can afford insane amounts of tuition.

 @9VKHMVG from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

The prices of higher education have skyrocketed way beyond annual inflation increases. The cost of public universities/schools needs to be analyzed and decreased (UK students pay 9,000 pounds annually for public universities). Also, student loans are predatory and they continuously compound interest on your previous balance. Student loans should be like fixed rate mortgages and be at a lower interest rate.

 @9VKCZMS from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, for all that provide 4 year of US military service in good standing and with honorable discharge.

 @9TPS65T from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

I’d rather they did something similar to Medicaid, where healthcare is provided to the poor, but instead of providing healthcare, the program would provide aid for those who are poor and can’t pay their college tuition.

 @9SBHHY3Democrat  from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

No, but tuition costs shouldn't be allowed to be as high as they are AND interest rates need to be lower.

 @9QRKVPY from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but Kyle just should be monitored by the government so that tuition is affordable for all students

 @9LCJCGG from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

if they have shown work and effort in high school then yes because many people don't have the money for all that. or at least make prices lower.

 @9LCCHFZ from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

They need to change the requirements for financial aid considering it causes middle class families to suffer the most.

 @9L64XCN from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

Provide lower interest rates for student loans and regulate tuition costs to be more in line with global tuition.

 @9KFD5XP from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

Should have restraints on how much colleges can charge for tuition. If degree doesn’t produce a living wage, the college should have to pay loan back.

 @9K4PP5N from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

Make the cost of college overall less, especially because nowadays jobs look for experience and internships, rather then a doctor’s degree.

 @9JF466H from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

Provide lower interest rates For student loans and perhaps make private education partially subsidized

 @9J78QDD from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

No, but find a way to get schools to lower tuition costs. Some colleges don't need to be that expensive.

 @9HKHRVX from Illinois  answered…3yrs3Y

Colleges, to gain federal funds, should prove a positive market-impact and cost for the education they provide their students.

 @9G96H73 from Illinois  answered…3yrs3Y

No, universities are an option and not a requirement so although i feel there should be lower prices or more scholarship opportunities, people should not be able to go to a university for free.

 @9FNNH9T from Illinois  answered…3yrs3Y

Public universities should be less expensive, and the government should be the one to do that. It needs to be more like public secondary and primary schooling, which is largely free. College is way too expensive.

 @9FLVHSB from Illinois  answered…3yrs3Y

 @9FJ2BGH from Illinois  answered…3yrs3Y

 @9FFH6LC from Illinois  answered…3yrs3Y

I would say yes but only for those kids that are struggling financially and have a history of being good students they deserve to have a chance in society since they have worked hard and the only thing that is holding them back is money.

 @9FF5JBS from Illinois  answered…3yrs3Y

Should pay under certain circumstances like adoption or foster care children.

 @9DDY9ZJ from Illinois  answered…3yrs3Y

No, the system needs to be reworked so that colleges cant raise the cost because they know banks will pay it.

 @9DDX3DP from Illinois  answered…3yrs3Y

The government should subsidize more public universities/colleges. students should have to pay for college, but not more than $20,000 a year before scholarships/grants/etc.

 @9DDQ2VR from Illinois  answered…3yrs3Y

 @9BVMB7F from Illinois  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, but only for public universities where students successfully pass all entrance requirements

 @973WTM4 from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

Develop a tax for the creation of mandatory service for 2 years post-high school and subsidizes community colleges and associate degrees.

 @96P6NCM from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes if it is public no if it is private but I think the costs should be lowered.

 @96LRJKV from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

Requirements for college should be harder to achieve but the financial requirements should be lowered exponentially.

 @96FTH9M from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

yes because some mexico family come over to get a better future for there family adn should not pay or 1000 dollors or student loans !!!

 @96FJ9RF from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

no but over all lower the cost or lower the interest and provide scholarships to people that are financially struggling

 @96599F6 from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

Offer a scholarship for the first 2 years of college to everyone . Then offer more scholarships for there majors .

 @954M2B4 from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

 @94RSYN5 from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes and no, they should enforce colleges to require less than 10k a year. Everyone deserves a right to education without going into crippling debt.

 @94BCXTT from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

this is really confusing for me- i think maybe community college is more of a solution than dealing with 4 years and with how expensive they are.

 @93QVHR2Democrat from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but only for those that will help either the goverment and/or life it’s self

 @agentsnoop from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but not purely for four-year colleges and universities. It should cover secondary learning in general to promote competition in the secondary education arena, and not necessarily the full amount.

 @93JQ2G9 from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

 @93J3FV3Republican from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes for partial tuition, but not just four year colleges, but trades to increase alternate valuable careers to keep USA in areas of manufacturing, construction, etc.

 @93G36CH from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

 @93CK5CYProgressive from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

no, but 4 years should be much more accessible by both lowering the costs and government funded scholarships

 @9386HXLProgressive from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but along with it there must be massive reform in our system of higher education

 @9375ZHSWomen’s Equality from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

No, and trade schools should be encouraged as an alternative to college

 @92L3XDR from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

depending on a person's income, home life, and overall stance economically speaking. They should for poor people but not for super rich people.

 @92H6TNB from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, if they can figure out a way not to tax everyone else in the process

 @jemicron from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, the federal government should make it possible for any student who qualifies to attend a public four-year college without paying for tuition and books. This doesn't mean the government should provide a blank check to elite private schools like the Ivy League, MIT, Stanford and Caltech. In other words it is not a school choice voucher for college tuition.

 @8ZMBF9V from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

Colleges need to lower the cost of tuitions especially since they are not be taxed

 @8ZM9JFL from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

The government should provide some funding to 4 year collages/universities.

 @8ZLZBT3Peace and Freedom from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

there are students who CAN pay for their own tuition so it should only be for those who have a goal in life and needs to go to college.

 @8ZLZ8J9 from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8ZJDKYJ from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

No, further education is a personal choice and should not be paid for by the public.

 @8ZC4NY3 from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

This is a complicated question. Either college should not be required for entry level jobs, or more opportunities for low cost education should be created. The requirements for degrees in low level jobs is currently unjustified.

 @8ZC28ML from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8ZBHSZK from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

No, Tuition towards associate degree should be paid for by the government

 @8ZBCJ6N from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8YKHVZ6 from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8YF5NJV from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

There should only be funding toward those who actually need it but regulations need to be put in place that prevent colleges from charging rediculous prices

 @8YB23SSIndependent from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

No. The government should force schools to reduce the costs to attend.

 @8Y85KB3 from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

College tuition should not be as expensive as it is. Federal government should not be paying universities. Prices should become more realistic.

 @8Y3FXRH from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

Only issue is colleges charging far too much. It doesn’t cost that much and makes it in fair for most people involved.

 @8XQSLDC from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

I think college should overall be cheaper and give out more scholarships

 @8WZDZH2 from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8WMLCFK from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

A sliding scale based on income and should include 2 year schools and trade schools

 @8WLR7SV from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8WHCSG7 from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

No, but Good colleges should be less expensive and interest rates lower

 @8WB5HCG from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

Government should provide much more funding for educational institutions so that tuition is much more affordable to average working class families.

 @8VZVYL5 from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8VWKMF5Republican from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

If you are serving in the military/ any government job that requires a lot of work. I feel if one decides to work for 4 years in the military/ government job, one should be able to get 4 years of college paid for by the government. And not just limited to 4 years but trade off the years worked for education paid for.

 @8VCTFGG from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

seize the capital of the rich and redistribute it to the people. capital is not money, but power, the power to bargain for a certain cut of a natural resource. it can take the form of money but ultimately it is fluid, and can change form from means of production, to commodity, to money. ultimately it all ends up as owned by a small group of people. when capital is redistributed people have more opportunities and ability to sustain themselves because they ultimately have more power. also the education system is a sham and we should move to an apprenticeship/community based model. the division of labor should be abolished through access to higher education.

 @8V497BG from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8TW9JH7Democrat from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

Both provide lower interest rates for student loans and provide more scholarship opportunities for low-income students

 @8TVJRX5 from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

The federal government should pay for tuition at two year colleges

 @8TTPJPP from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

They should put in place legislation that prevents schools from making you pay exorbitant amounts for tuition.

 @8STVNNZ from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

low interest rates- more scholarship opportunities- more funding- but community colleges should be free
