We got the money, it's just being wasted

Our military budget isn't too large or small, it's horribly inefficient.

First, a ton of money is wasted on programs that should be socialized and available regardless of military status, such as education and healthcare. Post military separation, there wouldn't be a VA, because those members would be transitioning to a socialized civilian healthcare system.

Second, our acquisitions doctrine is based off of capitalism and foreign sales. We spend billions then cancel amazing technologies when congress bans foreign sales of that tech and it no longer remains profitable for Lockheed Martin (or whatever) and their investors in the seats of government. We're burdened by the dominance of conservative thinking among the flag ranks who maintain a culture of making do with less until there's nothing left to make do with, then they go make the government waste millions on a program only to go become VPs at the companies they just threw millions of taxpayer dollar at.
