Neither one of these sides in completely innocent. Yes, there are struggles in both Israel and Palestine, and we need to recognize the humanitarian side of both opponents. Everyone is fighting to survive, not purely out of hate.

I think that Hamas was in the wrong first but Israel has retaliated really bad

 @9H2F8VK from Missouri commented…6mos6MO

It is important to focus on the issue in Palestine because Palestine is currently going through a genocide with millions of people dying each day. Statistically 100 kids die in Palestine each day due to the bombings that Israel is inflicting on them, while everyone stands around and ignores it while acting like Israel is the victim even though they are the ones who attacked Palestine first and on top of that took away Palestine's internet so they wouldn't be able to communicate with the other parts of the world to show that Israel is the true problem, and bombed multiple of the few remaining hospitals and homes killing millions of people including children ,women, men, and animals. Everyone is either ignoring this or acting like Palestine are the monsters even though Palestine is only trying to protect their home.

Democratic leaders are alienating the future of their party in order to back an unpopular, disastrous war and make a couple of rich, bloodthirsty donors happy

 @ForsakenSparrowDemocratfrom Wisconsin commented…6mos6MO

I have been wondering for the longest time why young people (18 - 40) don't simply form a party - Progressives? - and push back from the rampant corruption. The NRA pays politicians to keep school shootings going and AI PAC pays politicians to keep genocides going.

It costs millions of dollars to run a campaign for federal office. Like, the obscene explosion in the length & cost of political campaigns is a huge part of the ossification of the DNC leadership and the ability for non-wealthy insiders to run.

I believe even Israelites and Palestines are both losing people, that Israel should end the war because they have took too many innocent lives.

 @9H24STK from New York commented…6mos6MO

The government needs to listen to the people and stop supporting Israel and help the Palestinians

Is it ethical for a democratic country to ignore the voices of its citizens when making decisions on international conflicts?

 @9H2SDDQ from New York answered…6mos6MO

All opinions should be taken into consideration, but it is up to the federal government to make decisions about international conflicts as they have the most information on the situation.

 @9H2V95S from North Carolina answered…6mos6MO

it's not ethical because being a democratic country means you hear the voices of the people and you use their input to decide what to do. Choosing to ignore that would mean going against the very idea of democracy.

 @9H2V2S5 from Nevada answered…6mos6MO

Freedom of speech and expression, especially about political and other public issues, is the lifeblood of any democracy.

 @9H2SW67 from Massachusetts answered…6mos6MO

All voices should be heard in all countries as they should know what's best for the country they live in.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…6mos6MO

Can a country claim to uphold democratic values if it chooses to dismiss widespread public protests about its foreign policy?

 @9H2S2H8Republican from Wisconsin answered…6mos6MO

 @9H2S65C from New York answered…6mos6MO

yes because the government isn't required to respond to the protests

  @VulcanMan6  from Kansas disagreed…6mos6MO

How is it a democracy if the government ignores the demands of its own citizens?

  @VulcanMan6  from Kansas answered…6mos6MO

No, because a government is fundamentally not a genuine democracy unless the decision-making power is shared equally among all people.

"Representative Democracies" are not even democratic to begin with, and definitely not ones that ignore the majority demands of their populaces.

 @9H2S2WJIndependent from Illinois answered…6mos6MO

The country can claim whatever it wants to claim. That said, is it Democratic to ignore protests? I do not believe so. I do think a proper response is due and I do believe we should be more open to conversations with the people. I feel as though our leaders are very disconnected from everyday people in our country. We the people feel they don’t understand and the leaders of our country feel we don’t understand. If we had more communication and transparency, maybe that could help.

I believe it should be continued to be talked about and we should do what we can to help.

My boss is from the middle east and he has told me a lot about whats going on. Its very harsh and corrupt to this day and many people don't realize it.

 @9H2BNYP from Minnesota commented…6mos6MO

I think Gaza should be ended for what they started

  @VulcanMan6  from Kansas disagreed…6mos6MO

 @9H37RX6 from Maryland commented…6mos6MO

I feel that the protests should be heard and that we should ceasefire. What's happening in Gaza is horrid and the hundreds of children below the age of four that are being killed through bombs and simple IDF soldiers attacking them is sad and should stop.

 @9H2HF2D from Washington commented…6mos6MO

Oppressions will never end until we are all free, Zionism is dangerous and anti-Semitic, among it's other crimes.
