The government could intelligently lower spending by monitoring how the money is spent, like not spending 5 billion on a camo that blends in with nothing and gets soldiers killed

It’s actually mostly congress that makes the military waste so much. Few senators actually are in the military, and often have no idea what it really needs besides the vague advice of those who do know. If possible, we’d need to separate congress and the military’s funding. Maybe they could get money from an independent agency?
