Apparently you've either never encountered someone with late-stage dementia or, when you did, you were too busy watching TikTok reels to glance for five seconds (or however long it takes your brain to process obvious information, which, having never met you, I can't with any accuracy estimate) at the sorry person before you. People with dementia need to have their diapers changed, their food cooked and presented to them (not to mention a twice-daily refresher on how to use a fork) and their water glass kept full, and they need to be constantly supervised so they don't wander into the streets and get plowed over by some moron too busy texting to look where he's going. They are totally dependant on other human beings. In fact, if you really want to get down to it, almost every human being on the face of this planet is dependent for his survival on another human being. Don't believe me? Let's do a little thought experiment – full disclosure: this activity requires a basic capacity for thought – suppose people just up and decided not to provide you with any of the necessities of life. You were barred from entering the supermarket or purchasing any food at all, you were barred from electricity, and purchasing anything on the face of this planet. You were barred from going anywhere but your own lot of property. In about three weeks to a few months (depending on how fat you are) you'd die of starvation. You, me, and everyone on the face of this planet but a few farmers who can grow 100% of what they eat, are dependent for their survival upon other human beings. Our food – grown by others. Our water – purified by others. Our electricity – provided by others. Our clothes – made by others. Almost every aspect of our lives – provided by others. If you logically, consistently applied your arguments to the world (which obviously you don't, making you instantly WRONG) – if you did all that, then YOU, YOURSELF would be FAIR GAME for a MURDERER to GUN DOWN IN COLD BLOOD. If you're still unconvinced, though, by all means, hit me with all you've got – I'd love to continue destroying you. Sure, it's a pretty mindless activity, and doesn't require much thought at all – but it's fun.
