Collection of personal data without the explicit consent of those being observed by any organizations should be regulated

It depends on who you ask, if a corporation is selling one’s individual private data to a foreign country or worse, a stock broker, then that individual will be at high risk of scams and phishing. If said corporation does use the private data for advertising then, sure it can be beneficial in a small way.

Yes, but these regulations need to be applied to all companies using our data, not just foreign owned companies

Companies shouldn't collect everything from us, but we also need to make sure that the Government does not collect stuff from us all the time as well too.

 @B2XGB6S from Illinois  answered…7mos7MO

No, they should only be required to inform you what they will use that data for in their terms and conditions.

I believe it should be asked of a person if they wanted to participate. A person should have a choice to give their personal data or not to large companies and corporations.

The government should not have a say in this, but companies should not need to collect the amount of personal data that they do

No, but if regulations are imposed, it needs to be for every tech company, not just companies like TikTok that allow for more flow of free speech than Meta and Twitter.

 @9MMFVW7 from Illinois  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, but only if it doesn't say that the company is collecting data at the beginning.

 @Dry550Independent  from Illinois  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, business companies shouldn’t be spying on workers or using personal data to take advantage of them

 @9Q5PCYM from Illinois  answered…1yr1Y

Yes. All collection and use of personal data should be criminalized, regardless of if the personal data is used by companies or the government.

Companies should be allowed to use personal data if users agree and give consent to share their data.
