No, but the government should be able to request information about company's customers specifically if the customers opted in to allow their personal data to be used.

The government should keep watch for and seek to punish those who use data against the American people or for an inherently evil purpose.
@9SKPKCZRepublican1yr1Y
I believe that it could possibly make it a safer environment however it would take away a lot of the access we have now
@9SRQ5XMRepublican1yr1Y
The government shouldn't allow companies to take a persons personal data and sell it for money. Also, They shouldn't be able to take it without permission and if a company were to sell it the person should get a [percentage of the money.
@9S53PXFRepublican1yr1Y
no, but there should be guidelines for clear disclosure of use and collection, as well as a clearcut option to opt out
@9RXYYLK1yr1Y
It is not right for those companies to spy on citizens, and 1.) they should be taken down and 2.) the last thing the people need is more government regulation.
@9RMKNXQRepublican1yr1Y
Privacy laws should be better enforced and the level of tracking data from companies should be reduced unless people specifically opt in. However, opting in should not be an all or nothing approach, the public should be able to limit what is allowed to be collected.
@RWM1999Republican 1yr1Y
No, as long as companies don't infringe on someone's privacy or use personal data for malicious purposes
@9MV2QCDRepublican1yr1Y
Well we do want to keep the population safe from billionaire predators violating their privacy and then selling it to no good sources and other predators the government shouldn't be trusted to look at data either.
@9MNF3R3Republican1yr1Y

@92GLBFN 1yr1Y
No, but enforce better clarity on how and what data is being collected/used to users and allow for better opt-out functions.
@9QWXJ2YRepublican 1yr1Y
