Incentives could include financial support or tax breaks for developers to build housing that is affordable for low- and middle-income families. Proponents argue that it increases the supply of affordable housing and addresses housing shortages. Opponents argue that it interferes with the housing market and can be costly for taxpayers.

No. People should be able to make or buy their own houses and get rid of abandon buildings to build houses
@9WVLZN912mos12MO
We should instead of building more housing renovation already existing structures that are currently vacant
@9WVJ9BZ12mos12MO
There are already more empty housing units than homeless people, so they don’t need to build any more housing.
@Patrizi007Progressive 12mos12MO
Yes, however it must stipulate that the housing must be build correctly and safely. No cardboard houses.
Yes, and create government housing. By keeping housing fully in the private sector, costs will continue to rise.
@9WKVB2L12mos12MO
There are too many houses and this is destroying the environment, especially the swamps in Louisiana.
@9WF47VH12mos12MO
No, the government should regulate housing including building enough affordable housing for those in need. Waitlists are nearly a decade long as is.
@9WCRRS612mos12MO
No, there is plenty of housing but it is being exploited by landlords who sit on hundreds of overpriced properties.
Government should explore and incentivize the repurposing of buildings not in use to help with housing needs.
@9TRRGGW1yr1Y
They should work on first time home buyers getting accepted into their own houses and keep the market affordable
@9SK2MWT1yr1Y
No, they should turn existing infrastructure into housing. Building not in use anymore like hotels, office building ext. To create more housing and also protect the environment from unnecessary construction when other alternatives already exist.
Yes. We should cap the cost of housing. Right now, free-market is allowing the cost of housing to skyrocket. This is a burden on the overall economy.
@9XLJ47R11mos11MO
There are enough homes in most areas. There needs to be more of a push for affordable housing for the homes that we already have.
@9WXL9B512mos12MO
Yes, and make sure all newly constructed houses are up to code and built properly with no cut corners.
@9VXBBLC12mos12MO
Every person should be entitled to free housing, change every empty office building, mall, and second home to affordable housing options.
@9VKCGZJ1yr1Y
We have enough empty houses to not need more development. Ban landlords from hoarding homes and give everyone a home no matter what.
@9VJ4S8T1yr1Y
Yes, and the government should try to find ways to use already existing structures to make affordable housing, to save costs, and in the event that is not feasible, then construct additional housing.
@9VFHGTD1yr1Y
Housing should be affordable but not at the cost of safety/quality, so only if they can do so without compromising the builds.
@9SXC25L1yr1Y
I think there's a lot of housing in existence already, but often it's too expensive for most people to afford. I think a temporary solution to this, instead of building new housing, would be to work on more efficient ways to distribute what housing already exists, such as by making existing housing more affordable or by offering other incentives to real estate companies to lower prices.
@9RW9XM41yr1Y
Yes, but I would prefer if housing construction was handled by the government itself rather than using incentives to compel the private sector
@8BPDQT2Republican 1yr1Y
No, do more to reduce the overall pricing of what is already available and spent more on infrastructure improvements.
@9H4SFM6 1yr1Y
Yes, but it would be better to seize housing that is being held vacant due to greed and convert it into public housing.
