Should there be more restrictions on the current process of purchasing a gun?
Yes, require strict background checks, psychological testing, and training
I have already clarified this
Realistically, there is no data that supports that people who own guns become more violent over time, but there is a study by the National Gun Institute of the United States that a majority of gun misconduct is performed by people who were mentally ill or challenged prior to purchasing or accessing a weapon. It needs to be completely clear and acknowledged that guns do not have a mind of their own and will not have power unless in the wrong hands. People with criminal backgrounds should not even be allowed near weapons, especially if convicted of a violent crime. This is simple logic. In the case of passing both a background check and a psychological test, one must undergo training until a professional believes you deserve to be licensed.

If more people are encouraged to take responsibility for their own safety instead of relying on the government it wouldn't matter if mentally ill or violent people had access to guns. There should be enough responsible people carrying firearms that if someone pulls a gun to do harm multiple people can stop the shooter immediately. In the case of violent criminals, if someone is too violent to own a firearm then they are too dangerous to be part of society.

I think weapons should be accessed by all able bodied and able minded individuals that are of adult age. I think people have the right to defend themselves and if criminals knew every house had a weapon to defend themselves it would deter a lot of crime. I also think parents should lock up firearms in a biometric scanner safe or key lock safe. I think firearm safety should be taught in school and I think human life should be taught how valuable it is in school also. I think basic human and adult skills should be taught in school.

I am more concerned about citizens having the right to bare arms yes there are bad cases that happen but we live In America where the u.s gives us the freedom to have guns and with that freedom comes a risk that there are incidents and accidents that are gonna happen same thing with driving we have the freedom to drive but there also comes a risk we might crash and there are gonna be accidents

I agree, the danger doesn't lie in the gun itself but in those who are unfit to bear it. However, I think that certain guns shouldn't be allowed even if someone passes a background check, psychological test, and professional training. Your average person should never be trusted with a weapon above a hunting gun.
