Defunding the police does not mean removing vital equipment to their occupation. The United States functions on the basis that a criminal may carry a weapon in a high-threat situation. It is important to have trained law-enforcement to carry out the protection of everyday people from threats. It would be stupid to allow a trained officer of the law to not have the equipment vital to protect their people. But when that equipment is being misused and training is clearly lacking in too many situations, citizens will naturally question what all that funding is truly being used for. I am for spending transparency and police reform. I will not refuse to acknowledge the level of law enforcement we do need with the state of our country.

No, because the police are the ones who should protect civilians; otherwise, who will protect people from thieves and all that comes with it?
