Not necessarily. I understand the use of guns for self defense, but there are other methods of self defense than fire arms. I believe fire arms can cause more problems than solutions.

Yes I agree because people should be able to protected their homes or businesses if needed or if police cant help in time.

 @BBLDZJT  from Tennessee  agreed…4mos4MO

Yes, but we also need to limit how to get guns and semi automatic weapons need to be banned, they are not meant for hunting they are meant to kill people and that is what they do.

 @BBJLX53Progressive from Pennsylvania  agreed…4mos4MO

I somewhat agree but gun laws should be way stricter. So many innocent people die for no reason. More information about a person needs to be taken before they can buy a gun.

 @BBJ3NMF from Arizona  agreed…4mos4MO

A dog is better protection than a gun. There are more instances of accidents in homes than there are of effective self defense. Statistics are important for making decisions.

I agree with this comment but I DO believe there needs to be more restrictions in place, mental health tests, background checks, etc.

 @BBHVPR3  from Georgia  agreed…4mos4MO

I agree with the author, but with restrictions, because it can also be brought up the shootings that occurs in schools and businesses.

 @BBHPTTF from Wisconsin  agreed…4mos4MO

So many people are dying because of it, I think we should limit gun buying to limit gun violence with schools and anyone.

No, studies have shown that the presence of a firearm in the house is more likely to result in a fatality either from a misfire, mistake, or in the heat of the moment than when a firearm was not present in the home. Also, there are other weapons that could be used to protect yourself if someone broke into your house, which is already very rare. Also, having stricter gun laws would make it harder for criminals to get them, which would again lower your need to bear arms to protect yourself.

 @BBHL5H6 from Michigan  agreed…4mos4MO

For self defense yes, I would agree that you would need a gun or something of that sort to be safe but at the same cost of that, people can be having the worst day of there life and just walk outside and shoot a innocent bystander.

 @BBHL36W from Michigan  agreed…4mos4MO

i agree with this comment completely and without guns their is still things like knifes so killings would go down max like 13%

 @BBHK729 from Kansas  agreed…4mos4MO

I agree because it has always been a thing in America with guns its the people to blame not the item.
