This question has a million answers

If we're talking strictly about generative AI hosted in massive datacenters I would say the fact that the citizen uses it at all is proof of hurting others since these datacenters utilize the water from those communities and degrade the water quality and increase noise pollution. On top of that, using gen AI is inherently harmful to the art and writing created by real human beings the AI is trained upon, none of these creations are properly credited and are stolen without consent. It is difficult if not impossible to use gen AI in a way that does not harm other people in some shape or form.
