NO... the government should not raise the Social Security retirement age unless paired with equitable safeguards, revenue adjustments, and occupation-sensitive reforms. Justice requires honoring both the letter and spirit of earned benefits, protecting dignity across all classes and generations.

Yes, but people who want to retire at an earlier age should be required to provide a valid reason, such as health, illness, career-ending injury, or family matters

lower social security age to 60. So retirees can enjoy retirement. Healthy. Or allow them to partially retire. So they only have to work 10-20 hours per week.

Social security should no longer exist. Never before has it been easier to learn how to manage money and make investments. Citizens should be self reliant, not dependent on the government.

 @9HGBC8WConstitution from Kentucky  answered…2yrs2Y

No, but social security (OASDI) now gives money to too many people who didn’t pay in. That needs to be ended.

 @9HC2N7FRepublican from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

i feel like this is a bad idea because the higher the age gets leaves the elderly forced to keep working when its hard from them at certain ages already

 @9FHN492Republican  from Pennsylvania  answered…2yrs2Y

People need to be saving for retirement instead of relying on the federal government.

 @8WQG85ZRepublican from Utah  answered…4yrs4Y

No, pay back everything put into social security and remove the program.

 @8K9KBF4Republican from Ohio  answered…5yrs5Y

No ani it should a privatized entity with no connection to the government and sever the government’s ability to access social security funds

 @8J8L86KRepublican from California  answered…5yrs5Y

No, we should eliminate the mandate and change Social Security to an opt-in program and transfer all Social Security funds to individual private accounts for those who are currently collecting on and/or have paid into it.

 @8GY8S87Republican from Kentucky  answered…5yrs5Y

The age is too high and we work more than the rest of the world. Lower the age.

 @8GPWXS8Republican from Ohio  answered…5yrs5Y

It should be lower I’ve been working since I was 13, should be based on years worked no work no retirement

 @8F8VBJJConstitution from Michigan  answered…5yrs5Y

No, people who are retiring have already paid into the sytem with certain expectations. They should have their money returned to them. Social Security should be phased out for those of us who haven't spent our whole lives paying in, however.

 @8DNLPMFRepublican from Minnesota  answered…5yrs5Y

Begin reform of SS by progressively increasing the retirement age, decreasing the benefit, and phasing out to a private system over a long period of time.

 @8D8NDYLRepublican from New York  answered…5yrs5Y

No, and workers should be allowed to opt-out of Social Security with the net present value of their contributions to date, tax-free

 @9BWW78HConstitution from Virginia  answered…2yrs2Y

Make social security an optional program and maintain the retirement age between 60 and 65

 @AWeiseyyy24Republican from Minnesota  answered…3yrs3Y

 @8LJ935MRepublican from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

No, and the federal government shouldn't be allowed to borrow from Social Security either.

 @choltzenjrRepublican from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

No, and lower the cap for wealthier citizens. No one should have to pay $250,000 a year to social security.

 @8HXHRPRRepublican from Nebraska  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, raise it for those under the age of 50. For those older than 50, they have planned out their retirement years and moving it is unfair.

 @8H4T4RXRepublican from Idaho  answered…5yrs5Y

You should be allowed to retire whenever you wish. SS monies should never be used for anything but to go back to the people from whom it was taken. And never given to immigrants (legal or legal) who have never contributed to SS due to not being here. You don't pay into SS, then you should get anything out of it.

 @8GMWXSDRepublican from Michigan  answered…5yrs5Y

I think people should be able to determine when to retire anytime between 60-68 years old.

 @8G29HNMRepublican from Wisconsin  answered…5yrs5Y

No, and Social Security needs to be completely reformed altogether as it is a failing and outdated system

 @8HCRRMJRepublican from Idaho  answered…5yrs5Y

People should be able to retire when they want to retire as long as they are able to do their job. And make sure ALL Social Security monies go back to their contributors..
