Increase as needed to maintain national security. But, eliminate wasteful spending such as transgender services.

 @BoaCamilaSocialist from California  disagreed…2yrs2Y

The cost of transgender services in the military is a fraction of the total military budget. A 2016 study by the RAND Corporation estimated the cost to be between $2.4 million and $8.4 million annually, which is negligible compared to the overall military budget of $700 billion. Instead, addressing areas like procurement inefficiencies or cost overruns in equipment production could potentially save billions.

 @9D5CKFH from Texas  commented…2yrs2Y

Ok,fine, Here in the real world it isn’t one or the other. “Both” and “all” are also correct answers. Transgender services should most definitely be removed from military spending, as those services do not contribute to military readiness.

 @BoaCamilaSocialist from California  disagreed…2yrs2Y

Inclusivity in the military has been proven to have positive effects on unit cohesion and readiness. It is also important to consider that if we start excluding people from the military based on their need for specific medical services, we could potentially end up excluding a large portion of our forces. For example, certain soldiers may require specific treatments for conditions like diabetes or heart disease. Should these services also be removed because they don't directly contribute to military readiness?

 @9N4V59J from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

increases domestically, decrease foreign except key places for defense purpose, regulate and/or military industrial complex like " raytheon , ect. "

 @9D73CL8 from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

its just more tax payers dollars to building bigger weapons so I think we should just slowly increase just so they could always upgrade or improve what they already have.

 @BlissfulF0reignP0licy from New Jersey  agreed…2yrs2Y

how big should the weapons get?

do you think this is an arms race with China and Russia?

 @9CKK2NM from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Increase and declare marshall law and nuke china

 Deleteddisagreed…2yrs2Y

Nuking China is misguided and reckless. It goes against the principles of peace, individual freedom, and limited government that libertarians value. Advocating for such aggressive actions disregards diplomatic solutions, risks unnecessary conflict, and ignores the immense loss of human life and suffering that would result. Prioritizing peaceful engagement and respecting the sovereignty of nations is crucial for a more harmonious world.

Mostly stay the same, but could we not spend trillions on military equipment that might not even be used.

 @9WQDVF7 from Texas  answered…11mos11MO

Decrease, the military budget is over inflated as is but also not by to much due to the fact that america is built off the back of the militaries strength.

 @9F356W3 from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Decrease when possible, but make the spending publically available for everyone to see what is being spent and on what.

 @9F2RJN3 from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Decrease, the government spend over 766 billion dollars in defensives. which we don't need that much budget for are military we need to help form the people in the states for we can have a healthy growing society.

Decrease the portions of the budget for the contractors and give the actual male and female servicemembers 50% raises.

We got the money, it's just being wasted.

Our military budget isn't too large or small, it's horribly inefficient.

First, a ton of money is wasted on programs that should be socialized and available regardless of military status, such as education and healthcare. Post military separation, there wouldn't be a VA, because those members would be transitioning to a socialized civilian healthcare system.

Second, our acquisitions doctrine is based off of capitalism and foreign sales. We are paying 20-1000% (not a typo) markups on everything because we are bound to contracted sources to get our materials - I've seen an…  Read more

 @B74FYGH from Texas  answered…1 day1D

I think they should increase the spending but so our soldiers can afford to live while fighting for our freedom.

 @B73LQPW from Texas  answered…3 days3D

We must dominate the world in terms of military capability, but we don't have to do this while having a military industrial complex

 @B72LXCT from Texas  answered…4 days4D

At the moment I would say increase because of all of the stuff that's happening around the world and just in case for a potential WWIII

 @B725ZGH from Texas  answered…5 days5D

More funding should go towards housing, training, and veteran programs with military spending, but honestly, the only military equipment that could use upgrades are the vehicles and air/sea crafts, our weapons are sufficient enough, that they no longer need to be upgraded for the foreseeable future

 @B6YQZDC from Texas  answered…6 days6D

military is capitalist imperialist war machine to extract profit from the middle east and global south

 @B6YPNY4Women’s Equality from Texas  answered…6 days6D

It depends on the state of the world, in a time of peace, the spending shouldn't be hundreds of billions dollars.

 @B6YC6HP from Texas  answered…6 days6D

I feel that military funding could be increased as long as expectations are raised of service members. Currently they are paid less than minimum wage but at the same time are not developing real, practical skills. I feel they should make more money and have better living conditions but that they should always be held to a higher standard. Also, increased military funding should not be increasing the billions being handed to defense contractors.

 @B6XN3B8 from Texas  answered…1wk1W

Depending how badly our nation needs or doesn't need our military at the moment, it should fluctuate

 @B6TKQVF from Texas  answered…2wks2W

they should decrease so it isn’t a problem for education, healthcare and food supplies for the people

 @B6T963D from Texas  answered…2wks2W

I feel as if there should be a specific amount they are granted in a year. And if they spend it all, they can hold almost like fundraisers for money.

 @B6T7T8Y from Texas  answered…2wks2W

I think an audit of how exactly they are spending their money first would be useful, then we decide, but no, they should not simply decrease spending.

 @B6SDP82 from Texas  answered…2wks2W

Increase only in times of war, or when under a threat to be pushed into war; otherwise, there is no current necessary reason for the military spending to increase.

 @B6N2MCT from Texas  answered…4wks4W

I think they should only lose as much as needed, so decreasing if necessary but increasing again if there's not enough funding during an important event.

 @B6MRKT3 from Texas  answered…4wks4W

Our military and intelligence apparatus needs to be retooled entirely which means a complete audit and rethinking of its budget.

 @B6M5R5JRepublican from Texas  answered…4wks4W

Increase when needed for major wars, but keep the same if the war isn’t within the US or affecting it’s land

 @B6LQY3J from Texas  answered…4wks4W

i think they should have to pay for stuff that comes from the country that they protect because what if they cant afford it and a a war happens we aint got nothing to help win

 @B6KV6FQ from Texas  answered…4wks4W

We should be getting people off the streets. We are the richest country in the world yet so many people are in poverty, going hungry.

 @B6K2KJHNo Labels from Texas  answered…1mo1MO

I think we should decrease our spending as our allies raise theirs because that means they can better defend themselves, and need more military to defend them less.

 @B6FXH7F from Texas  answered…1mo1MO

Decrease, Americans are dying from everything but war. We need to expand our definition of “common defense” to include converting illness, climate change, and accidental death. Americans don’t die from military conflict, and this is not due to our military but to our economics and culture.

 @B65CDK4 from Texas  answered…2mos2MO

Decrease, look for areas to cut any unnecessary spending but continue to provide livable wages, training and healthcare

 @B64BYX8 from Texas  answered…2mos2MO

The military has too much money and don't trust the government stopping it. It should be the working class tax payer who should stop.

 @B5Y5CP2  from Texas  answered…3mos3MO

Decrease it by ensuring items and parts ordered are not inflated in value to justify the high budget.

 @B5XHJQ7Peace and Freedom from Texas  answered…3mos3MO

If its needed spend money on it if it isn't then don't. Also, if it effects other people's outside the military be careful with it such as bombs,etc

 @B5X9BJGDemocrat from Texas  answered…3mos3MO

I'm unsure of how much funding they are receiving and how they would utilize a increase so its hard to say.

 @B5WZGPWIndependent from Texas  answered…3mos3MO

I believe we can increase when there is a crisis and if there is not we could use that funding on things that need funding. We can still spend money like missions and things.

 @B5WNGWRRepublican from Texas  answered…3mos3MO

Increase, but make sure every dollar of spending is accounted for and legitimate with no frivolous or wasteful spending.

 @B5WMMJV from Texas  answered…3mos3MO

I think it should increase and decrease as needed to maintain a superior military. However, i don't think an ever increasing budget in the face of already outspending everyone else is necessary. It should definitely decrease at the moment

 @B5WH4XP from Texas  answered…3mos3MO

They should find a way to keep the military funded but cut back to fund other things such as education and the FDA

 @B5W3YF9 from Texas  answered…3mos3MO

Having served in the military, it’s disappointing to see how much equipment and gear goes to waste, but I do believe service members are underpaid.

 @B5VJ3TNProgressive from Texas  answered…3mos3MO

Military budget is fine as long as the money is actually going towards the military and not being used somewhere else

 @B5VHBCS from Texas  answered…3mos3MO

decrease in some areas where it isnt completely necessary and maybe pass that money on to areas where it needs it instead of increasing the amount of money all altogether.

 @B5V43FKDemocrat from Texas  answered…3mos3MO

Yes, but it depends on what they spend it on. They should increase if it helps the welfare of military families, but decrease if they just want to spend it on more machinery.

 @B5V23XWNo Labels from Texas  answered…3mos3MO

No, but drastically increase efficiency and strict regulation for fraud, waste and abuse. Transparency and accountability for failed audits.

 @B5T3B6YNo Labels from Texas  answered…3mos3MO

we already spend the most on our military compared to any nation and even some alliances in the world, we are fine with what we have right now.

 @B5KK3RBRepublican from Texas  answered…4mos4MO

I am satisfied with the current amount of spending, but their efficiency with the money is a problem

 @B5J97KKDemocrat from Texas  answered…4mos4MO

Decrease, but after we have paid off all debt and it is certain that no countries want to go to war.

 @B5GZN4JRepublican from Texas  answered…4mos4MO

The government should keep it similar to what it is but in certain scenarios like if we were in a war they should increase the military spending.

 @B5DG7VH from Texas  answered…4mos4MO

While I am for the military and defense of our country, the rampat corruption with in the military is something we should put a primary focus on.

 @B5BC4GZ from Texas  answered…4mos4MO

The US should continue to spend on the military, as military budget is used for things like research and technology, but should do so more efficiently

 @B597M95 from Texas  answered…4mos4MO

Depends on the situation, if it is necessary to need to increase funds to get more weapons for war or something REALLY IMPORTANT, then yes. If there is no reason to increase it, then no.

 @B555LQZ from Texas  answered…5mos5MO

you wont need to spend millions and billions of dollars on the , military if you kept things PEACEFUL I agree with increasing it a bit but not a lot.

 @B4Z34LP from Texas  answered…5mos5MO

it should be regulated and should be spent on how much is our military really needing to execute the tasks we need them to but sometimes overspending could be good.

 @B4YZ85RRepublican from Texas  answered…5mos5MO

The current amount of spending is fine, but we need to audit how much we are spending to make sure the military is getting the best deals.

 @B4VZWWM from Texas  answered…5mos5MO

INCREASE 500 BILLION DOLLARS TO GENERAL DYNAMICS RAHHH (I feel no political bias towards the Military Industrial Complex, I just like the stuff they produce)

 @B4VPXXZ from Texas  answered…5mos5MO

I feel like they should set a reasonable budget for spending and focus the rest on more important needs.

 @B4RKRWD from Texas  answered…5mos5MO

I think they are fine how they are. They have always been given everything they needed so the money could be used elsewhere for other issues like homelessnes, poverty etc.

 @B4RDPQN from Texas  answered…5mos5MO

I think that veterans should be getting more benefits, but we shouldn't keep fighting Hollywood wars.

 @B4QMWSC from Texas  answered…5mos5MO

It should be increased, but they should ensure that it is being used correctly, not only for weapons but also for security and training.

 @B4NYZ7GWomen’s Equality from Texas  answered…5mos5MO

The military spending should only be increased if needed, like if weapons need updating or if the equipment needs fixing

 @B4M5423Women’s Equality from Texas  answered…5mos5MO

Doesn't really matter to be honest, if it caused too much then i guess we'll just have to deal with the regular costing even if it's not cheap.

 @B4LSB8Y from Texas  answered…5mos5MO

honestly its pretty high and could be used for better reasons but military is a good use just cut of like at least 100,000,000 for the community

 @B4LDK6Y from Texas  answered…5mos5MO

I think the government needs to adjust the basic amount spent of defense based on the situations that are being faced at a certain time.

 @B4LD5ZHIndependent from Texas  answered…5mos5MO

Increase if it is necessary and we have the ability to, but if not necessary focus on spending where it is needed.

 @9ZTQW4V  from Texas  answered…5mos5MO

Decrease military spending and conduct repeated, thorough Pentagon audits until they pass. Eliminate wasteful spending, reinvest in domestic priorities, and maintain only the necessary investments in modern defense areas like cybersecurity and space defense. Fiscal responsibility and accountability must be non-negotiable.

 @B4KPMBN from Texas  answered…5mos5MO

At this point we don't need to spend more or less, the U.S. Industrial military complex Is the most powerful military In the world. I understand the need to protect us from foreign powers but that does not imply bigger guns, But better foreign relations, LIke not withdrawing from the WHO.

 @B4JRYLS from Texas  answered…5mos5MO

The government should not increase the amount of spending , but rather focus more on giving enough money to the soldiers than the top of the chain of command

 @B4HZ96F from Texas  answered…5mos5MO

If predictions arise that there will be an event in which the military will be needed I agree with increasing our spending, but if not it I am satisfied with how much is being spent.

 @B4HX2TG from Texas  answered…5mos5MO

The spending should be heavily audited, to cover what is actually needed, and it should remain the same. Raising at the same percentage annually as other programs including, but not limited to, healthcare and housing subsidies.

 @B4HGZTH from Texas  answered…5mos5MO

I think that the military budget is something that should be flexible with what is happening with the world and America because other countries rely on America for safety and the military budget allows us to protect them.

 @B4G2YYM from Texas  answered…6mos6MO

Neutral, because military spending is not fair for a country that has $800 billion dollars then a country that has only a $300 billion dollar budget

 @B4DQWYM from Texas  answered…6mos6MO

It is very good that we are spending money on our military, however, I think we spend too much on them rather than upgrading our cities. The reason I say that other cities like china are massively ahead in the Architecture part.

 @B4DPKCP from Texas  answered…6mos6MO

Decrease a small amount so we can still have a big military but also have the extra money to finance schools or get rid of debts.
