That part of the Fourteenth Amendment was written specifically to ensure citizenship for slaves and the descendants of slaves; taking it out of its historical context and blinfly applying it to today's world with no regard to the completely different circumstances of this situation and using it to push some wacky political agenda aimed at a direction further left rather than an actual goal is exactly how a constitutional republic is undermined, even if it seems like we are just following the Constitution.
