How does your culture shape who you are, and what would you want future generations to remember about it?

 @9HHJVBG from Kentucky  answered…2yrs2Y

I want future generations to appreciate different cultures and the life lessons they can bring to one's experience. Along with empathy to see that we all have different life experiences but we are all here with one purpose, to live alongside the planet we were born to.

 @9HHJLKXanswered…2yrs2Y

My culture made me aware of the difference between my home nation to that of where I am now. And in that due to varying historical past shape who they are and their character that makes them so different. Essentially, the awareness aspect of acknowledging or knowing what makes an individual who they are.

 @9HHK7G8answered…2yrs2Y

Culture shapes the person you are, and it does so by putting you in certain situations that only you're culture understands. I want future generations to see what each of their cultures did and what they can do to improve.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

What is a common misconception about your country that you wish to correct?

 @9JGSGZC from Ohio  answered…2yrs2Y

That we are a clean country when we are very dirty.

  @HelcovichEmireRepublican from Maryland  commented…5mos5MO

Yes, thanks to those libtards especially those promoting LGBTQ and deviance to traditional family and gender roles, we are becoming a disgusting country.

 @9JGSMM5 from Florida  answered…2yrs2Y

Willingness to accept other culture without any judgements

  @Patriot-#1776Constitution from Washington  disagreed…1yr1Y

Some cultures are objectively worse than others, such as the cultures of the American Indians and the African Zulus. The American Indians, for example, hacked women and children to death in front of their husbands and fathers, drank their blood, and proudly displayed their scalps, which they viciously cut off with their tomahawks. The African Zulus were always at war with each other and slaughtered entire villages, burning their victims alive and then eating them. Those cultures were objectively savage and barbaric cultures. Western Christian cultures were objectively far, far better and more civilised.

 @PragmaticGeckoLibertarian from New Jersey  disagreed…1yr1Y

Western Christian cultures were objectively far, far better and more civilised

The Crusades - Siege of Ma'arra, rape of women, enslavement of children

Spanish Inquisition - Strappado, the rack, auto-da-fé

Salem Witch Trials - Pressing

  @Patriot-#1776Constitution from Washington  disagreed…1yr1Y

Yes, every group does do something wrong. I am not saying Westerners are infallible, I am saying that in culture they were far less barbaric than Indians & Zulus and other cultures (which, I will clarify, was not because of racial or biological reasons, but cultural reasons. I am no racist.) But, it's interesting you would bring up those examples, because

(1) The Crusades were defensive wars against piratical Muslim extremists who were pillaging and enslaving innocent people (little known fact)

(2) The Salem Witch Trials, while tragic, came about because people literally believed the girls punished had sold their souls to the devil and were wrecking havoc on the community. If anyone deserved the death penalty, surely people who did that did! (I am not saying they were actually witches, this is just what they believed).

  @Patriot-#1776Constitution from Washington  answered…1yr1Y

That we're all raving morons who like to murder and mutilate children and think men can get pregnant. It's our leaders who are that way, not our people.

  @HelcovichEmireRepublican from Maryland  commented…5mos5MO

Huh? Are you talking about transgenderism? Please explain what you mean by "we're all raving morons who like to murder and mutilate children"

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

If you were explaining your country's values to someone from a different culture, which value would you highlight and why?

 @9J5GKQX from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Religious traditionalists. Prone to tribalism and grifting due to age and lack of education. Anti progressive.

 @9J5GMSD from California  answered…2yrs2Y

Freedom because it's the premise of our constitution and Declaration of Independence

 @9J5GCSS from Minnesota  answered…2yrs2Y

Freedom because everyone from every class just wants to do their own thing and not hear backlash from others.

How do you think national pride can contribute to a community's response to crisis or tragedy?

 @9KW9C3TRepublican from Colorado  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9KW97GW from Oregon  answered…2yrs2Y

I think for sure the unity part of it can help us cope with a crisis and not freak out and explode into riots and much more.

 @9KW95YT from Oregon  answered…2yrs2Y

I think it opts for less diversity within a community, and intense nationalism isn't always a good thing. I believe people shouldn't be obsessed with their country or country leaders and learn to live and think individually.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

How has the discussion of immigration policies and their impact on national identity affected your view of your country?

What aspect of your country’s history do you feel most influences its present-day culture?

 @9HHM4M6Progressive from Missouri  answered…2yrs2Y

negative history such as slavery, war, and genocide

  @HelcovichEmireRepublican from Maryland  disagreed…5mos5MO

That is such negativity and pessimism. Pretending that America hasn't moved on from these past horros is awful and not a good way of thinking. We have moved on from these things, they are a thing of the past.

 @9HHMF3T from Indiana  answered…2yrs2Y

To focus on a conservative figure, Donald Trump undoubtedly influenced our present-day culture. Though he has allegedly committed crimes, his actions, political support, and presidential personality has made a cultural impact on America today.

How do pop culture and media in your country reinforce or challenge national stereotypes?

 @9HTN6TS from Oklahoma  answered…2yrs2Y

people are too soft in my opinion because they get offended over something that does not even include them

  @HelcovichEmireRepublican from Maryland  agreed…5mos5MO

I hate political correctness, it's so stupid how easily people get offended over small things these days, everyone is way too overly sensitive.

 @9HTP9BNConstitution from North Carolina  answered…2yrs2Y

Pop culture and media make National Conservatism look bad, by weaponizing the idea of Capitalism and purposefully misconstruing the idea of economics and painting libertarians as evil, when, in reality, the liberal, progressive, social ideal is what will ultimately lead to the destruction of society. They also hate on traditional values and family life, which is a destructive idea for our society as a whole.

  @HelcovichEmireRepublican from Maryland  agreed…5mos5MO

Well said, the modern day liberal/progressive movements are destroying our society. LGBTQ rights, racial quotas, "diversity" (I put it in quotes because diversity isn't bad, but forcing diversity into businesses and schools is awful), feminism, etc

 @9HTH7ZZPeace and Freedom from Pennsylvania  commented…2yrs2Y

In our country, we invite famous people to express their opinions and opinions about certain stereotypes on social media. But they also remind people to look at stereotypes on a case-by-case basis and to be open and receptive to new things.

Should a nation prioritize its own citizens first, or is there a moral obligation to consider the impact on the global community?

 @9HFSC2Ganswered…2yrs2Y

A nation should prioritize its own citizens first as it is held accountable for its own constitutional promises. However, federal decisions should still obey international promises that prevent global life threatening situations.

 @9HFQ66Fanswered…2yrs2Y

I think that you need to have a way to balance both, otherwise you would always lean one way or the next.

 @9HFSPWB from Colorado  answered…2yrs2Y

This position tends to view the government as having a legitimate role in supporting or even promoting social and moral values in society. However, there is no general agreement about what exactly such values would be, so it is difficult to generalize about it.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

How would you feel about a policy that promotes your country's culture at the expense of others, and why?

 @9HYXPMCRepublican from Georgia  answered…2yrs2Y

Our nation is no longer truly free. We have placed too much power and trust in our government.

  @HelcovichEmireRepublican from Maryland  agreed…5mos5MO

DEI, forced acceptance, anti-disrimination laws, business regulations, large taxes funding many unconstitutional government programs.

 @9HYXMYD from Pennsylvania  answered…2yrs2Y

  @HelcovichEmireRepublican from Maryland  answered…5mos5MO

American culture is the best and the one true great culture (along with some other European cultures maybe), specifically the conservative faction. The social liberals are trying to destroy the preservation of traditional American culture.

What societal changes do you think could improve the feeling of national togetherness in your community?

 @9HYY4CK from Minnesota  answered…2yrs2Y

  @HelcovichEmireRepublican from Maryland  answered…5mos5MO

Respect for traditional values and morals and an end to progressivism, so we can all share similar values and not always be arguing about society.

As the world becomes more globalized, what aspects of your national culture do you feel are most important to hold onto?

 @9HYYR77Republican from West Virginia  answered…2yrs2Y

The Freedom that America gives to people, and the American dream

  @HelcovichEmireRepublican from Maryland  commented…5mos5MO

Define what your version of the "American Dream" is. I believe it is the ability for people to work hard and get educated so they can be hired and find a good stable job. I also strongly support traditional family, people should try to marry someone from the opposite sex and follow traditional gender norms, the wife has a duty to quit her job when she has children to become a homemaker.

 @9HYYTNN from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

What is something i would hold onto about my culture is how we carry ourselves so we stay out of trouble, and just us being successful.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

Is protecting national cultural heritage important enough to warrant resistance to global influences?

 @9HF6YMN from Idaho  answered…2yrs2Y

I think it isn't and more research must be done to understand to the full extent.

 @9HF6XJL from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

This is a very poorly worded question. I don't quite understand what it is asking. What resistance, what global influences, and what cultural heritage. Legal immigration is good. Protecting our Constitution is good. Using cultural heritage as an excuse to stereotypically discriminate is bad. But the concept of cultural heritage being important is not inherently bad. So, it depends on specific facts.

  @HelcovichEmireRepublican from Maryland  answered…5mos5MO

Yes, always, what is a country if it lets itself be influenced by outside influences? Illegal immigration and promotion of a diverse culture are destroying America as a country, and pretty soon will we even be our own country?

What's a custom from your country that has become irrelevant with time, and do you think it should be revitalized?

 @9KCGJTZPeace and Freedom from North Carolina  answered…2yrs2Y

One custom from my country that has become irrelevant over time is the idea that "women belong in the kitchen." While the idea still exists in many people's minds, it has deteriorated over time.

  @HelcovichEmireRepublican from Maryland  commented…5mos5MO

You're right, that idea is old and outdated. Heck! whatever happened to the rest of the house? The kitchen isn't the only place that needs cleaning!

 @9KHNDXC from New York  answered…2yrs2Y

  @HelcovichEmireRepublican from Maryland  answered…5mos5MO

What has become irrelevant is the importance of traditional marriage and gender roles. Of course it should be revitalized, these traditional values are some of the things that make America the beautiful country it is, or once was.

 @9HYXS2V from Tennessee  answered…2yrs2Y

im british american but my national pride lies with britain

  @HelcovichEmireRepublican from Maryland  disagreed…5mos5MO

Your national pride needs to lie with the country you are currently living in. While Britain is an ally of the US, your loyalty should still be to the US, and the US only.

  @HelcovichEmireRepublican from Maryland  answered…5mos5MO

A lot of things have weakened it, LGBTQ rights, illegal immigration, feminism and progressive movements to encourage deviance from traditional gender roles, DEI and race-based hiring. Trump's policies have strenghened it.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

If you could implement one policy to strengthen your community's unity, what would it be?

 @9HHM7NYIndependent from Ohio  answered…2yrs2Y

  @HelcovichEmireRepublican from Maryland  answered…5mos5MO

The SOMA (Sanctuary of marriage) which would recognize marriage as only between a *biological* man and woman, as well as restore the importance of biological sex over gender, by removing "gender identity" entirely from all of society.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

Do you think national conservatism is a legitimate response to globalization, or is it a step back from progress?

 @9HLT46H  from Arizona  answered…2yrs2Y

It’s a legitimate response. We should expect less government and teach our citizens in every country to use their resources, natural and intellectual to prepare for a future of peace and prosperity based on our basic needs. We are already doing what we need to do to take care of ourselves, we just have to remove the continuing failing financial process that separates and divides the people.

 @9HLTJV5 from Wisconsin  answered…2yrs2Y

  @HelcovichEmireRepublican from Maryland  answered…5mos5MO

Everyone who cannot speak English as a natural language must be deported, I don't give a crap about your citizenship status, not being able to speak the national language is completely unacceptable!

How do you feel when you see your country's flag or hear the national anthem, and why?

 @9HHLM4H  from Missouri  answered…2yrs2Y

When I saw the flag as a kid growing up in the US I used to feel excitement and pride. I would think of my grandfather who had fought in the military. I would think of all the other children in different countries who didn't have freedom. As I grew up that eroded away.
My grandfather had to suffer for years with a faulty heart before the government would pitch anything in for its veterans. I realized that the freedoms that I had thought were special.
