How does a company promoting social causes influence your perception of the authenticity and quality of their advertising?

 @9KMBC6Y from Minnesota answered…2mos2MO

I don't want a company to promote any social causes, if they do promote woke stuff like that I will be one to boycott them.. They should make good products and that is it.

 @9KMCT49 from Iowa disagreed…2mos2MO

Any company has the right to express their beliefs. Whether you continue to buy the product is up to you.

 @9KMBW5LIndependent from Virginia answered…2mos2MO

It drives demographics away when you pick a side to support. It also takes away from the movement by making it about money.

 @9KQ6T85 from Florida answered…2mos2MO

I would prefer for companies to keep their social stances out of their advertising, because this usually causes unnecessary involvement in unrelated issues to their business.

How do you weigh the value of a good product against a company's lack of social commitment?

 @9LFVGTS  from Florida answered…4wks4W

I believe a companies main goal should be to make a good product for their customers. It is important for companies to align with their values, however, they do not need to have an opinion on every social issue. Actions speak louder than words, and consumers value authenticity and consistency.

 @9LFX8SK from Georgia agreed…4wks4W

A public opinion is used to gauge how the public stands on certain issues, not to govern how a company or a person chooses to run their businesses. This falls under the core value of individualism, but could be tied to Free Enterprise, which all Americans share a belief in, just their opinions on how policy should be carried out differ.

 @9LFRJXY from California answered…4wks4W

If the product is good then that's all that matters.

 @9LH8JDWProgressive from California disagreed…4wks4W

Ethics is a big part of the world and we should focus on how our products are being made and if the upsides really do outweigh the bad

 @9LFNTP4 from Wisconsin answered…4wks4W

I do not trust the motives of corporations when it comes to promoting progressive values. I cannot say that I don’t appreciate forms of representation for minorities, but I do not believe that it comes from a place of genuine concern. Regardless, corporations should be more honest about their political affiliations.

 @9LJ6WGH from Indiana agreed…4wks4W

Companies should stick to producing quality products and treating their employees well. They should stay out of politics.

Businesses Can do whatever they want and support whatever they want

 @9KYLPH7 from New York disagreed…2mos2MO

Businesses should not support causes that dehumanize others on the basis of any socioeconomic factors

 @9KW6G6H from Wisconsin answered…2mos2MO

They can try, but it is not doing any real change if they are prioritizing profit

 @9KW5Z4YRepublican from Indiana answered…2mos2MO

Advocating for social causes is a great way for a business to gain more profitability.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…4mos4MO

How would you feel about a favorite product if you learned the company behind it opposes a cause important to you?

 @9HTRHSQanswered…4mos4MO

I would try to find a product that is similar and use that instead, as long as its company wasn't problematic.

 @9HTRKWL from Tennessee answered…4mos4MO

if they are directly endorsing and using profits to donate towards those causes, i’d stop purchasing. a favorite product does not hold more value to me than my beliefs.

When I found out that Starbucks Would Pay For their employees if they were pregnant to get an abortion I was sad about the fact they would Kill A Living breathing human being who has a purpose in this world that was ripped away from them.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…1mo1MO

What actions can a company take that would convince you they care about more than just profits?

 @9L9BXP9 from California answered…1mo1MO

by trying to relate to their customer on a personal level and make a connection with communities rather than view them as a demographic.

 @9LDW85MPeace and Freedom from Texas agreed…1mo1MO

Everyone has to pay everything for the same price and doesn't matter the situation they are in so they should know everyones situation.

 @9L9BXHJ from Maryland answered…1mo1MO

I think that if they were to practice what they preach, zealously working to do all that they say they believe in, and if they were to at their own expense support a group or movement or issue.

Donating to charities that give back to the people that buy their product.

What's your reaction when a brand goes from neutral to 'woke'—genuine change or bandwagoning?

 @8DFY9YVLibertarian  from Massachusetts answered…2mos2MO

 @9KW5Y9N from Indiana answered…2mos2MO

I think no brands should have to jump on a bandwagon to be a successful brand.

 @9KW6BFLIndependent from North Carolina answered…2mos2MO

The only reason there is woke capitalism is to make more money they don’t care how you identify or what you are they just want your money.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2mos2MO

Do you feel a brand's diversity in advertising is a true commitment to inclusion or a response to trends?

 @9KW4YDQ from California answered…2mos2MO

I think that its a response to trends because you will see big clothing brands use people of color to represent their inclusiveness but they would spread racism and hate.

 @9KW4HGR from Alabama answered…2mos2MO

Woke capitalism, woke capital and stakeholder capitalism are terms used by some commentators to refer to a form of marketing, advertising and corporate structures that pertains to sociopolitical standpoints tied to social justice and activist causes.

 @9KW4H7K from California answered…2mos2MO

I believe some companies are going too deep in the "woke agenda" and are running their products,brands and creativity. One example is Disney's failure to make good movies because it became too focused on being woke then making a story.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2mos2MO

Can you share an instance where a company's ethical stance influenced you to change or reconsider your own views?

 @9L4TLHQ from Missouri answered…1mo1MO

Starbucks supports Israel and genocide and doesn't respect their own workers opinion, so I don't drink Starbucks. I'm boycotting Kelloggs because the CEO thinks he is Marie Antionette.

 @9L88BK5Libertarian from Oregon disagreed…1mo1MO

I just think that your impact is too small. Even the money you give them is too small. Your boycotting wont help you have to start something larger to actually make change.

 @9L4TWNPanswered…1mo1MO

The way in which Starbucks handled the Palestine conflict in terms of their boycott only furthered my hatred for the company and my activism pro-Palestinian lives.

If a company’s 'woke' image is revealed as a marketing ploy with no real action, does it change how you view that brand?

 @9HDMZ38 from Idaho answered…5mos5MO

Yes, it makes me feel as if they just trying to go along with what people believe, instead of what they themselves believe.

 @9HDNJ9J from Texas answered…5mos5MO

Of course, because it shows how the company's main concern is capitalism and completely changes the meaning behind company statements

 @9HDNMG4 from Kentucky answered…5mos5MO

No, it would not change my view because the entire world is pretty much held under capitalism so if the company was lying I wouldn't be surprised.
