if people weren't able to walk around with guns then other people wouldn't feel endangered, and they wouldn't feel that they'd have to carry around a gun as well.

That's a utopia I'd love to see. But in the meantime, in the real world, people carry guns for a myriad of reasons, often for their own personal security. Your suggestion seems to overlook that reality.
We can ensure that responsible, law-abiding citizens who feel the need for protection can still obtain firearms.
Take Australia for example, they implemented strict gun control after the Port Arthur massacre in 1996. The regulations didn’t prevent people from owning guns entirely but made the process more rigorous. Subsequently, both gun-related homicides and suicides saw a significant decrease.

Gun control is what made our country independent, and the same thing that gave rise to Nazi Germany when the National Socialists restricted gun and hunting laws.
@9RGQQGD2yrs2Y
Uhm… no. Nazi Germany rose because it elected a man with a big mouth to come into power at a time of despair and then he passed laws that made it possible for him to establish himself as a dictator within the government, it wasn’t “gun control is underway, now Nazis can exist with ease” they slowly made an entire country afraid of a race of people based off of a man’s Prejudice who gave them false hope and dreams during a period of depression. He blamed Jewish people for all of the issues going on at the time and then made life miserable for everyone. Guns may… Read more

there will always be someone who is willing to break the rules. i don’t think people should walk around with their own guns, but weapons such as pepper spray would be important

I find this true, a lot of people that carry guns as safety not for violence, have to carry them because of the possibility any day, any time, that there could be a threat. I think that guns are too available and it's terrifying.
@9RGQQGD2yrs2Y
It’s terrifying because what if I just fall into someone but they perceive it as a threat/push/me acting like I’m trying to pick a problem with them? Are they just going to pull out a gun at me because they feel threatened/like they need to defend themselves? Or what if they think I have a weapon as a random by stander and it turns out to be an umbrella? And I going to ambushed because they perceived me as a threat without assessing the situation and pull out a gun? It seems like an extreme way to defend yourself in a public place that is populated/busy/broad daylight, literally any scenario that’s not being in the middle of now where and you actually wonder why the hell is someone coming down your driveway. But even still, why is the first instinct to grab something that has the capacity to cause life threatening injuries?
@9TYJFHK2yrs2Y
For almost all concealed carriers, the standard (reflected by instinct and training) is to not draw until the threat is clearly present and severe.
If you shove into them accidentally, even the intentional equivalent probably wouldn't justify deadly force.
Especially if the only "bad" sign is you having an apparent weapon slung on your back, as is proper etiquette for open carry of rifles, they'll know not to draw until **** 's about to hit the fan.
