It does create more of an illusion of choice. I think Capitalism could work but just need to tweak it slightly.

I do believe that capitalism in itself is something good for the our country and for the economy, however I do believe that some people miss use the power they get from it and that along with over use should be controlled.

I think purely ideologically capitalism can give a consumer freedom of choice. However with current regulations and practices, oligopolies give you an illusion of choice.

Capitalism, if left unchecked, will certainly breed issues of monopolies and thus, must always remain with some degree of interventionism to stabilize markets and incentivize small and local businesses keep money within their communities.

 @9H76579 from Washington  answered…3yrs3Y

Left unchecked capitalism will create monopolies and create big illusions of choice yes, ideally we would properly make sure that entire business's arent made up of 3 big parent companies but well that already happened so..

 @9H8PJPM from Wisconsin  answered…3yrs3Y

Capitalism is more "I will work for my money", and Socialism is more "I will have my money justly given to me. Capitalism can be good, allowing people to succeed financially, but capitalism can also bring overwhelming monopolies on society that should be regulated to a certain point.

Capitalism creates illusions of choice with big companies dominating markets.

 @9H9842Z from California  answered…3yrs3Y

Capitalism can create an illusion of choice, as smaller businesses may struggle to compete.

 @9H93VYD from California  answered…3yrs3Y

I believe it provides the freedom of choice for consumers as long as they consumers are able to obtain those freedoms through their own work.

 @9H8ZXQ2 from New Mexico  answered…3yrs3Y

I'm not as aware of who capitalism would help more the consumer of the corporation.

capitalism recognizes that each and every person is the owner of his own life, and has the right to live his life in any manner he chooses as long as he does not violate the rights of others.

 @9H97ZN7 from Missouri  answered…3yrs3Y

I believe that it does not give you freedom of choice because most products are manufactured and sold by the largest companies and other bossiness cant compete

 @9H7KLFR from Massachusetts  answered…3yrs3Y

I believe it creates an illusion making it harder for those smaller companies

 @9H6L8T9 from Pennsylvania  answered…3yrs3Y

It ends up creating an illusion of choice with big companies dominating markets

 @9H992RDCommunist from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

Capitalism provides the illusion of choice by exploiting its workers and forcing them into a cycle of consumerism.

 @9H9BTLV from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

I think capitalism, while it does not necessarily always have small businesses congealing into a few big businesses, always will lead in that direction if we are not constantly trying to avoid it.

 @9H75FTZ  from Maryland  answered…3yrs3Y

No. Capitalism has failled society and corporate consolidation has irreparably damaged our nation. All big conglomerates MUST be split up as they were 100 years ago.

 @9H6L93QIndependent from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

I think it can, in theory, and probably would work better to accomplish that than anything else. It just needs some tweaking and management to make sure things don't get out of hand.

 @9H6SYPP from Kansas  answered…3yrs3Y

Capitalism can only work under a socialist framework only. Private tyranny can be worst than state tyranny if there are no rules or regulations within the system.

 @9H6MZPWfrom Maine  answered…3yrs3Y

It tends to create the illusion of choice, as bigger companies own almost all smaller sub-brands

 @9H6M8J7from Guam  answered…3yrs3Y

Controlled capitalism is only the best choice that we currently have if there had been better opptions i would love to switch from it.
