White House Condemns University Presidents' Reluctance on Antisemitism: 'Unbelievable'

 @OppositionValentinaLibertarian from North Carolina commented…6mos6MO

This is been the single best week in years for the cause of limiting free expression and free discourse at colleges.

Anyone who claims they believe in free speech - while they cheer the union of hedge fund billionaire and DC politicians to impose speech limits - is a fraud.

This is a misframing.

The issue is about drawing a CLEAR line when speech turns into intimidation and calls to violence.

Not a subjective "context dependent" dodge.

That was exactly the distinction these university professors were trying to draw:

We won't punish pure political speech (like op-eds saying "Free Palestine" or signs for "intifada").

But we will punish conduct, when it's aimed in an harassing way at specific students.

I would be inclined to agree, however they weren't asked whether "free Palestine" signs or chants were considered harassment.

They were asked specifically whether a "call for genocide" would fall under harassment.

The absolute easiest question to answer "Yes." to.
