Lots of giddiness about the mass remote explosion attack across Lebanon today. I’m sure the kids who witnessed limbs getting randomly blown off in grocery stores will appreciate the technological sophistication of the attack. They’ll grow into huge admirers of Israel and the US

I will not shed a tear for terrorists who played a role in slaughtering 1039 on 10/7.

Tough for Israel to survive surrounded by so many with a singular purpose to destroy.

Youre telling me the Mossad could find nazis across the world decades after WW2 ended, but couldnt uncover the largest terrorist plot in Israeli history? There is proof netanyahu allowed money transfers from Qatar to Hamas, and that his administration was complicit in the tragedy of 10/7, to advance their goal of ethnically cleansing the Gaza Strip to use it as a luxury real estate market. Smotrich even referred to the carpet bombing of Gaza as "the demolition phase".

Yeah, like they weren't already brain washed with hate and used as human meat shields. This makes no difference at all. They were violently anti-semitic before and they will be violently anti-Semitic in the future.

If they bomb Hezbollah people complain. If they strategically strike them, people complain. Is Israel supposed to just accept the thousands of rockets flying into its country so that people won’t complain?

 @EqualityCraneVeteran from North Dakota  commented…2yrs2Y

Understand what happened here. Israel assassinated Hezbollah’s chief of staff smack in the middle of Beirut. So Hezbollah realized it could no longer use cell phones and switched to pagers.

The only problem? They were unknowingly buying explosive pagers from the Mossad

 @NegotiationZoeTranshumanist from North Carolina  commented…2yrs2Y

Are you sure that the pagers were Israeli-issued, or were they just compromised after the fact?

 @EqualityCraneVeteran from North Dakota  commented…2yrs2Y

I mean this is all conjecture, but the fact that Israel made 1200 pagers explode at the exact same time makes it a lot more likely that Israel was the supplier of the pagers

You gotta think that some battery hack wouldn't be this reliable/effective

 @C4mpaignRonWorking Family from Illinois  commented…2yrs2Y

What Israel has just done is, via *any* method, reckless. They blew up countless numbers of people who were driving (meaning cars out of control), shopping (your children are in the stroller standing behind him in the checkout line), et cetera. Indistinguishable from terrorism.

 @XfactorSnailVeteranfrom New York  agreed…2yrs2Y

It’s not indistinguishable from terrorism, it IS terrorism. Textbook terrorism: wanton violence inflicted on civilian populations with total disregard for innocent life.

 @AdventurousPeacockWorking Familyfrom Guam  commented…2yrs2Y

I would really like the details on how exactly that happens (as an electrical engineer). The videos I'm seeing it's a full immediate explosion, when lithium batteries are overloaded they tend heat up, spark than explode which would allow someone to get away from it. This is sick

 @J0intResolutionThrusheAmerican Solidarity from California  agreed…2yrs2Y

Could an older battery composition explain it? Like you I'm having a very hard time believing a lithium battery could do this. Even if u had full code control over the device, I don't see how you could trigger a battery failure on a whim without specific hardware to do so?

 @8LXSCV6Socialist from North Carolina  commented…2yrs2Y

I had no idea people still used pagers.

 @CynicalSenateSeatLibertarian from Indiana  commented…2yrs2Y

Mostly people who need to get messages no matter where they are

Cell phones don't always work

Doctors and nurses use pagers exclusively so they can make it to the hospital when needed

Followed by government officials and a few military folks

 @VotingLilyLibertarian from Alabama  commented…2yrs2Y

This is crazy because if we ignore the conflict and think about what actually happened it’s crazy. If they could hack a pager which isn’t even that advanced imagine what a government or terrorist organization could do to a phone

 @7XCVS5XRepublican from Illinois  commented…2yrs2Y

Reports are now at over 1,000 Hezbollah have been injured.

Hezbollah uses these pagers for encrypted communication to avoid detection by the IDF.

Now both their communications network is gone and each Hezbollah terrorist got an epic ‘I see you’ message

 @NeedyProgressiveSocialist from Maryland  commented…2yrs2Y

This operation is straight out of a movie.

Legitimately.

Saying its “Biblical” would be accurate.

Is there ever a justification for attacks that result in high civilian casualties?
