"Affordable Housing" is a scam nowadays. The markets artificially increase the price of rents, making normal income people spend much more than they want to on rent, and makes low income people still spent a large portion of their income on rent. Large companies should not be allowed to buy single family homes at all. That is causing more stress on the market than there not being enough "affordable housing". The houses that are on the market now could be "affordable housing" if there were more supply, but not from artificially just adding more homes.
