Guns do not kill people, people kill people. Saying stricter gun laws will stop gun violence is like saying making it harder to buy spoons will make people less fat.

The Bill of Rights, which holds the Second Amendment, was established to protect certain fundamental rights of United States citizens. Government-sponsored infringement of these rights can lead to tyranny. If you trade freedom for safety, you will end up with neither.

 @B7QYQJM from Washington  disagreed…8mos8MO

Cocaine is an illegal drug but there's still so many people who get their hands on cocaine. If we make guns illegal then the people who want to commit crimes will still get their hands on a gun and the people who are law abiding citizens will have no way to protect themselves. If you were to commit a gun crime would you go to a place where people commonly have guns or a place that almost no one has guns. You would go to the place with no guns because there would be less likelihood of getting shot. Don't ban guns ban idiots.

 @B7QS4BG from Idaho  agreed…8mos8MO

it should be harder to buy guns but anyone who thinks banning guns will stop murder is stupid, if someone is willing to murder they are willing to buy a gun illegally.

 @B7T9MVMRepublican from Nevada  agreed…8mos8MO

I don't support the use of guns, unless you have gone through strict security and paper work to own one. They should not be used how they're used now.

 @B7S9XJG from Minnesota  agreed…8mos8MO

I do not agree with this the 2nd amendment is there for a reason and we can not change it, it wasn't created to be changed. I do agree that its not the gun its the person but we can not change the 2nd amendment. we do need to make it harder to buy guns.

 @B7RY3TNNo Labels from Texas  agreed…8mos8MO

I agree that the 2nd amendment was made in different time and with today’s gun violence, change is necessary. Gums are designed to harm so stricter laws and tougher biting requirements make sense to Change life’s

 @B7RLVSRRepublican from Illinois  agreed…8mos8MO

I do not think we need to change it, however there should be more restrictions on the guns people can own and how they get them.

 @B7RJ8Q6Peace and Freedom from Illinois  agreed…8mos8MO

Yes I agree because a lot of people (especially young people) have easier access to gun and that only leads to violence and possible deaths, I'm not sure how they obtain a gun so easily but there needs to be more strict rules on people who carry or want to carry guns

 @B7R5FHL from Washington D.C.  agreed…8mos8MO

I agree with this because there are a lot of people who aren't able to manage the gum, a big control should exist against guns

 @B7R64KJDemocrat from Georgia  agreed…8mos8MO

I agree I believ guns aregetting out of control. Too many people without the correct agenda have guns which is putting people lives in jeopardy.

 @B7R33TV from Kansas  agreed…8mos8MO

Yes absolutley we need to have a longer drawn out process of the sale of firearms and the ownership of firearms

  @Marely-RPeace and Freedom from California  agreed…8mos8MO

The fact that people under 21 or 23 years of age are allowed to have weapons or buy alcohol seems to me to be something that is unnecessary and vulgar in most cases, especially in adolescents.

 @B7QSKQY from South Carolina  agreed…8mos8MO

Yes we need to make it harder to buy guns and own guns because it really does be in the wrong people hands and people carelessly taking people's lives away.

 @B7QRLM3 from Michigan  agreed…8mos8MO

I agree that we need to make harder policies to buy guns with a lot more serious of screenings. However, there are so many guns out there in the world now, I don't think this would change much.

 @B7QLD6N from Maryland  agreed…8mos8MO

I agree with this, especially with the amount of mass-shootings the US has had in the past few years has led to so many deaths.

 @B7QLC2R from Florida  agreed…8mos8MO

Yes — I agree with this comment. The author makes a strong point that the Second Amendment, like any part of the Constitution, can be changed or adapted to fit modern society. When it was written, the context was very different — there weren’t semi-automatic weapons or mass shootings like we see today.

 @B7QLBWKRepublican  from Michigan  agreed…8mos8MO

I agree, guns should be heavily limited. There should be a heavy training and classes on gun safety more than there is now. I also think gun owners should heavily hide their weapons from anyone else.

 @B7QDJ7C from Texas  agreed…8mos8MO

We need stricter gun control. It will be impossible to ammend the constitution due to theb polarization of of our politics. However, we can get common sense un control.

 @B7QKRLC from Ohio  agreed…8mos8MO

I agree, guns should be restricted and only 1 per household and not given to anyone with a criminal record

 @B7QKB8QPeace and Freedom from GU  agreed…8mos8MO

I agree. Though we are not completely going against the second amendment, we should put stricter rules on guns. It should not be so easy to get a gun, especially in a time where mass shootings happen almost every week.

 @B7QJXTSDemocrat from California  agreed…8mos8MO

I agree with the comment however, I don't think enough others would agree and the amendment will be nearly impossible to change or change effectively in the near future.
