He represents more of an established, institutional approach, and I’m not fully convinced that translates into the kind of practical, transparent leadership and consumer-first mindset I’m looking for.

I would not vote for Xavier Becerra because I feel like he's not doing enough.

I think there are other candidates that have better ideas and decision making.

It is a continuation of the same establishment that has failed the state of California for the las 16 years.

 @BDZCVLZ from California  answered…1wk1W

Xavier Becerra is just like Gavin Newsom and will do nothing to help with the current state of California.

I would not vote for Xavier Becerra because his campaign seems focused primarily on opposing President Trump rather than offering solutions to California's problems. He has indicated that he would continue many of Governor Gavin Newsom's policies, which I believe could lead to higher taxes, more regulations, and continued challenges with homelessness and people leaving the state.As Secretary of Health and Human Services under President Biden, I did not see significant accomplishments that convinced me he would bring meaningful change to California. I want a governor who focuses on affordability, public safety, economic growth, and improving the quality of life for Californians.

His job as HHS was very bad, also is backed by major corporations. Also Democrat and we have had 16 years of Democrat rule, time for a change.

He’s a corporate shill who would sell us down the river for a dinner with chevron

 @BDW3D55 from California  answered…3wks3W

Seems more interested in making a name for himself than working on solving californias problems

Establishment democrat; change can only happen by making bold choices

He has a lot of corporations/corporate democrats backing him, so I’m worried that his policies won’t benefit the everyday people.

I like steyer more, and I feel that Becerra has too much baggage to the Biden administration, paired with his lack of opinion of the wealth tax.

 @BDP3Q7L from California  answered…1mo1MO

I think Katie Porter would better represent working families and focus more on affordability

 @BDNK2TP from California  answered…1mo1MO

I probably wouldnt vote for him if he had anything to do with Joe biden but he is also less progressive on big oil housing making it not so easy on citizens making gas prices go high again.

Xavier Becerra political beliefs do not align with mine so I will not particularly vote for someone who does not align with my same political beliefs.

I like steve hiltons policies much better, and xavier becerras policies are honestly replacments of newsoms and we need change.

 @BF2XPQM from California  answered…4 days4D

It's not that I wouldn't vote for Xavier Becerra, but that I would vote for Steve Hilton. I prefer his approach and the policies he plans on activating, such as lowering the cost of gas and issuing encampment bans.

Becerra isn’t doing anything about lowering taxes so yeah he’s a no.

 @BF3D4VVRepublican from California  answered…3 days3D

California is being destroyed by the democrat party. This state has been declining in quality of life since I graduated high school in 2000. California used to be a business powerhouse and now the companies are leaving fast. Democrats hate rich people but I have never got a job from a poor man

 @BF2D6DW from California  answered…6 days6D

 @BF2F4NF from California  answered…6 days6D

I would not vote for him because he is corrupt and because he supports more government regulation and defends the policies of the Biden administration.

 @BF2FD27 from California  answered…6 days6D

If I had to choose one reason why I might not vote for Xavier Becerra is because it would likely be concern about bureaucratic continuity over innovation. Becerra’s long career in government from Attorney General to Health and Human Services Secretary signals deep institutional experience, but critics might see that as a tendency toward maintaining existing systems rather than pursuing bold structural reforms. For voters seeking rapid change on issues like housing affordability or regulatory reform, that could feel too cautious.

Of course, others would argue that his experience ensures stability and competence. It’s a classic tension between continuity and disruption in California politics.

 @BF2JXRR from California  answered…5 days5D

I would not vote for Xavier Becerra in the 2026 California Gubernatorial election because he was the former California Attorney General. As attorney general he mad no impact on out state.

Democrats in California are awful. Homelessness, Crime, High Taxes, Energy regulations, Housing prices are too high.
