Guns are not the problem, mental health is. Every single shooter has a mental health problem, and that should be addressed instead of guns. Guns are a right, not a privelege.

Banning guns will make it harder for people to be able to defend themselves, and not everyone is able to run away from or get in close enough to combat attackers, especially if the attacker is using a gun obtained illegally.

While that is true, guns are also a very fair way for american citizens to keep themselves safe, and they are used for many other things including hunting animals. For people who actually know how to use them, and do it for a specific reason, they should have the right to use them.

 @B8JT3B7 from Texas  disagreed…7mos7MO

People are dangerous, not guns. A gun is an inanimate object that if left to it own device would not harm anyone.

 @B8LBKTJRepublican from Florida  disagreed…7mos7MO

It is a dumb stance; bad people will do bad things. Look at England, most people don't have guns, but they have a lot of melee crime. getting rid of guns will not change anything.

 @B8L9MZJ from South Carolina  disagreed…7mos7MO

This is not correct. If people have guns in their homes, and someone breaks in, then they will be able to protect themselves better than they would without guns.

 @B8JZHHC from Missouri  disagreed…7mos7MO

guns in the hands of morally and mentally stable people are a necessary tool in today's crime ridden atmosphere. there are hundreds of gun laws on the books that are not enforced now.

 @B8LBRMJ from Texas  agreed…7mos7MO

I agree, Guns are so easily obtainable that during this time, it is more common hearing "be careful when you get in a problem because they might have a gun" I personally think that we shouldn't be scared of getting shot when we go outside.

 @B8KX7DR from North Carolina  agreed…7mos7MO

Yes, I agree. I agree because guns do in fact cause for bad then good, many shootings at schools, public places, concerts, malls, etc. have happened due to the fact that guns are so easily in reach for most if not all people. I believe there should be laws, prevention's, and etc. for guns, and people who own such things.

 @B8K34RF from California  agreed…7mos7MO

I agree, but I believe that the people using them are as dangerous as the gun itself. We need to implement multiple stages and psychological exams before someone can purchase a firearm, so that tragedies will be reduced tenfold.

 @B8JZSRYRepublican from Delaware  agreed…7mos7MO

I agree, guns are hazardous weapons to the public if in the hands of the wrong person. Especially now with any young kids and teens dying due to school shooting or from another kid/teen. With young people obtaining guns from dealers, etc. I believe they should make the process of obtaining guns harder to obtain than it is now. Guns should be used to defend yourself, not hurt others for no reason.

 @B8JZR8C from California  agreed…7mos7MO

I agree because there should be more regulations in owning a gun and the person who owns it should be monitored.

 @B8JZ8DR from Texas  agreed…7mos7MO

Yes, guns are an unnecessarily powerful tool to be in the hands of citizens and even if there are still crimes without them they'd be much less deadly.

 @B8JZ6JHRepublican  from Texas  agreed…7mos7MO

While I agree that guns are a very dangerous weapon, there are safety measures taken to prevent harm on others. The issue isn’t that guns are bad. But that the individuals who have possession of them use them for bad. You can’t blame the weapon when it had no choice to be used for killing or harming others. It’s the person that should be overlooked and be regulated. Not the weapon.

 @B8JXSHVDemocrat from Indiana  agreed…7mos7MO

I agree with this statement. I think by giving access to guns we make it more normalized to use them.

 @B8JWM4Z from Nevada  agreed…7mos7MO

I do agree with this statement heavily. I've seen this metaphor saying something along the lines of: it's okay to give kids playing sticks, but then if they start hitting each other, take them away, or at least restrict them. Giving them more sticks won't stop the kids that started hitting, it will only lead to more kids hitting each other with sticks... This metaphor I agree with, but I feel like it would be even better to just fully restrict them because they just cause more violence.

 @B8JWH69Women’s Equality from Ohio  agreed…7mos7MO

I think its easy for people to get their hands on guns and that its extremely dangerous with the little restrictions on buying guns

 @B8JV6CY from Utah  agreed…7mos7MO

that we need to do more and to get more strict with the gun regulations and to find some sources that can help the gun violence would be controlled and more regulations so that people won´t have to live in fear everyday until that gets resolved. we should do something that doesn't take our rights but protect people as well

 @B8JSJNXWomen’s Equality from New Mexico  agreed…7mos7MO

I agree because its so easy for someone to get a gun, making it much easier for people who shouldn't have guns to be able to get one and cause horrible things.

 @B8JRVL7Republican from California  disagreed…7mos7MO

Assault rifles should be banned for any individual citizen of the United States unless they are currently military or police. Handguns should be completely legal for self-defense situations as it is a basic moral right to defend oneself with force.
