People shouldn’t have to give away more of their hard-earned money just because they were successful. Everyone should be taxed at the same rate because equality means treating everyone the same under the law—not penalizing one group to benefit another. Most wealthy people already pay the overwhelming majority of federal income taxes, and raising their rates even higher often pushes jobs, investment, and business growth elsewhere. That doesn’t help working-class families—it can actually hurt them by slowing down hiring and raising costs. Instead of constantly increasing taxes on one group, a better approach is lowering taxes across the board, letting people keep more of what they earn, and focusing on economic policies that help everyone—more job opportunities, stronger businesses, and a healthier economy. A rising economy is what truly supports better schools, stronger communities, and real upward mobility. Penalizing success doesn’t lift people out of poverty. Empowering individuals, reducing government waste, and keeping taxes fair and equal for all does.
