I think we should prioritize the health and safety of the mother carrying said child- by limiting or banning abortion you put more than half of expecting mothers at extreme risks due to unforeseen circumstances while pregnant, not being able to carry the child due to health, etc. Also, we should focus on the fact that if this child is being brought into the world by force you run the risk of it being abused, abandoned, killed, etc. our adoption facilities and systems are not strong enough

They are not babies the second the sperm hits the egg. It is scientifically proven that the sperm and egg to not become a fetus until 11 weeks. At that stage, it is officially a fetus but still cannot feel emotion, pain, or any human tendencies. Women have the right to make a decision about what happens to and occurs in their own bodies. It is a fundamental right that should not be taken away. It is forever the womans choice.

It is also a concern for the mother if they are able to provide a suitable living condition for the baby also with the fact if they can afford the baby or not. There are a lot of other concerns to this question rather than if it is a baby or not. But it is still a fetus which cannot feel, think, or act on its own so it would not know of its own existent.

For the safety, mental health, and protection of the whole family, the woman should be able to make the choice.

Even if they are babies, dose the mother not matter more in this situation? It's her body and her choice what grows inside it, and if she dosen't want a child thats her choice.

During the beginning of pregnancy, there isn't really a baby to begin with. While the egg is fertilized, it hasn't developed enough to have the main physical components of a person, such as skin, a skeleton, brain, etc. It also hasn't developed enough to survive on its own, technically classifying it as a parasite, due to it taking nutrients and resources from the mother.

they are a sack of cells without a heart beat its an advanced bloodclot for weeks before the heart beat and body parts start to make themselves

So, what you are trying to say here, is that if a baby is a baby the second the sperm hits the egg, then that means you are also saying if an blueprint is of a house, then the house already exists before being built? Or that a cake is already a cake the moment you mix the ingredients? By that logic, a blueprint would already be a house and mixing eggs, flour, and sugar would already be a cake, even though both still need time and development before they become what we recognize as a house or a cake, just like how a baby would need time and development before it can be even recognized as a baby, rather than it being already developed the moment the sperm hits the egg.

They are fetuses until birth. The mother of the fetus has every right to terminate her own pregnancy. You can't violate someone else's autonomy just because you don't agree with their choices. They don't hurt any living person by doing it.

Actually, during the certain stages of pregnancy, it's been said that the baby is considered a "parasite" at a point. Also, why be concerned about children who aren't even born yet and couldn't care less for the children in fosters homes or on the street? If abortion was to be banned, it's been proven that people would preform their own unsafe ways to get rid of the baby. People's main argument on why abortions should be banned is because the "birth rates would go down", but honestly, we as humans are so populated it's insane.

During the first 8 weeks of pregnancy
that “baby” is only a clump of cells. It has no arms, legs or organs. It will not survive outside of that woman’s body.

 @B9PFYMQSocialist from California  disagreed…5mos5MO

You are technically right. Technically when it fully develops in the womb that is a baby and when it is birthed it will ultimately be a human child. However when then sperm hits the egg the embryo won’t even carry a fetus till 9 weeks. It’ll only be some cells that are floating around. So I think yes don’t kill a baby. But if you choose to get rid of a few cells that haven’t sprouted into anything yet then you should do so.

What if it was a rape victim? What if the mother is too young to raise the baby on her own. Yes, there's adoption, but most of those children end up in the system. Foster care can also be dangerous, abusive, unstable, etc.

 @B9NK8V2Independence from Arizona  disagreed…5mos5MO

if the mother carrying the child cannot afford or is not in the right life and mind space to take care of a child abortion should be an option

 @B9NFR88 from Virginia  disagreed…5mos5MO

The second the sperm hits the egg, it's just a fertilized egg. It is not a baby until it passes the fetus stage and has organs.

 @dukefriske from Virginia  disagreed…5mos5MO

life doesn't begin at conception and the protection of the pregnant person's life is always more important than that of the embryo

 @B9QDP6M  from Virginia  disagreed…5mos5MO

In a scientific viewpoint, the second the sperm hits the egg, its still not a baby. It is a fetus. It doesn't even have a heartbeat yet, either.

 @B9NG95Z from Illinois  disagreed…5mos5MO

Scientifically this statement is false, are decisions being made based on emotions or logic and facts

 @B9NS2C6 from California  agreed…5mos5MO

Yes, I agree. Human life begins at the moment of conception as that is when a unique set of DNA is formed. This is also supported scripturally ("Before I formed you in the womb I knew you" - Jeremiah 1:5). If it is a human being then it should be given human rights, with the most unalienable being the right to life. Abortion is murder and is the largest current genocide in our country, with nearly 1 million deaths per yer.

 @B9N93G7Republican  from Texas  agreed…5mos5MO

I agree completely. Every life is valuable and innocent babies should not be killed due to the lack of care and responsibility of grown adults.

 @B9NL53R from Kentucky  agreed…5mos5MO

I agree. Babies are just innocent souls that do NOT, under any circumstances, deserve to be killed. Abortion should be illegal.
