The idea that a fetus is a baby is mostly based on religion and not science and thus has no place being implemented in laws as this is a non-religious country. This also assumes that that is the only or primary reason for abortion and even if it is when talking about a population so large even 1% amounts to thousands of people. That being said other reasons include medical reasons, an eptopic pregnancy (which is still an abortion despite never being viable), abusive and dangerous situations for both the mother and the fetus, and financial inability are just a few

What if I didn’t have a choice? What if you had a daughter who had unconsentual sex, you wouldn’t want her to keep that baby, or what if a woman was pregnant and can’t get rid of it, she could get kicked out, then be homeless and pregnant

"killing" a baby would be to put it into the world without safety, food, and shelter- not preventing its existence.

 @B9QMDZW from Mississippi  disagreed…5mos5MO

It's not killing a baby, it's medically protecting the parents of a responsibility they may be unable to financially or mentally handle at the moment.

What about people who were raped? Are they being irresponsible because they don't want to raise a sex offender's baby??? Also, comparing someone who thinks they are not in the best position to raise a baby to a murderer. Also, what if my doctor says my baby and I will die if I continue the pregnancy??

A child isn't something that people should have to "deal with." It should be a person's choice if they're ready to have a child. If they aren't then that child shouldn't suffer a life with a caretaker that wasn't ready for them.

What if you got sexually abused by your abuser and got pregnant by the abuser, that doesn't make me responsible that makes the abuser responsible for his actions. It is up to us weather or not to have the child.

For some, continuing a pregnancy may pose serious health risks to the individual. Medical conditions, mental health concerns, or potential harm to the fetus can justify the decision to terminate a pregnancy.

The baby is not conscious yet. The baby does not have a birth certificate. So how does it have a death certificate? Plus,what if the woman was raped? She should not be forced to have a baby. What if the baby would be the next Adolf Hitler? Second reason,god asked Mary if she wanted Jesus. Why should a mother tear open a uterus for a child she’s not ready for yet? Please sympathize with people.

If you are not responsible, you should not bear the consequence for the rest of your life. The best way to deal with it is abortion. It is not a baby it’s a fetus that you don’t even know.

 @B9SFBXF from California  agreed…5mos5MO

Unless you were raped or the mothers health is in danger you shouldn't be allowed to take the life away from the child.

 @B9S752S from Pennsylvania  agreed…5mos5MO

It's your own fault that it happened. Now you need to be responsible and take care of the baby because you were irresponsible and let it happen.

 @B9RZSHL from Ohio  agreed…5mos5MO

Life begins at conception and there is no justification to terminate an innocent human life just because it’s convenient. Circumstances of conception don’t determine moral worth.

 @B9R68ZD from Missouri  agreed…5mos5MO

I agree - sex is an act that brings life into the world. If you are not prepared to take care of a baby, you are not prepared to have sex. If you have sex and become pregnant, you are reaping the benefits of your own actions and are responsible for that life while it is in your womb. Adoption is an option for unfit mothers - but abortion should never be.

 @B9R2PHG from Colorado  agreed…5mos5MO

I agree with this stance but it doesn’t cover the issue of rape or incest. But i still don’t believe is abortion in those situations because it is not the babies fault for those decisions and they should not deserve to die.

 @B9R25WL from California  agreed…5mos5MO

If you were not in the right position to have a baby whether that's financially or any other way, it was your choice to have sex and risk having that baby. Now it is your job to take care of that baby because it is a human with human rights, both in and out the womb.

 @B9QYRQQRepublican from Indiana  agreed…5mos5MO

Yes, if you made it, that's is your decision, and your responsibility. There is life at conception, and abortion at any point from conception to birth is murder.

 @B9QY36MRepublican from Indiana  agreed…5mos5MO

Yes, I agree with this comment because God gave you the baby as a blessing. In Psalm 139: 13-16 it says, "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be."

 @B9QQKPR  from Illinois  agreed…5mos5MO

I agree people should be more accountable or else it will create a cascade effect of people being complacent.Although for extreme/life threatening cases there should be Abortions.

 @B9QMZ42Peace and Freedom from South Carolina  agreed…5mos5MO

You should not kill a baby regardless. If you do not want your child there are other ways to handle that situation while still saving their life.
