Don't blame the people who are looking for refuge, blame the people that let this happen. Majority of immigrant families have moved here in hopes of refuge and the "American Dream" left behind 100 years ago. They are under temporary visa's and it's not easy to gain citizenship with the inability to work on a livable wage. This is coming from a 4.2 GPA high school student, attending college next year. You are conflating two issues.
You appear to have an issue with the immigration system and naturalization process. That is fair and I believe change starts by looking at countries that have a system with the qualities and outcomes you hope for. Then contrast with what we have and how we can incrementally move closer to that.
