Brain waves ≠ human life. A frog has brainwaves. You asked if “ two wrongs make a right,” and that applies this way even more so. Are the hard lives of the mother and a child she is not prepared to take care of worth it when one mother could be saved?

Imagine being raped then carrying your rapist baby for 6 months then having to see him every time you look at that baby. And baby's right when conceived are just cells they rant even a baby yet no feelings no emotions so its not killing an innocent child because its not even a child yet.

Yes, sex is a choice but rape isn't and abortion can help with teenangers that are not ready for parenthood or financially can't support having one, also some people are not meant to be parents and abortions can lower the amount of homeless kids or the amount of kids up for adoption, or even the murders of newborns toddlers, and teens.

First, learn how to spell incest. I do not know what "insest" is. Second, why do we not force people to give up their organs if they do not need them to save a life? Because it is a person's constitutional right for someone to decide what to do with their body, and they are allowed to choose their self over others. It is the same with a pregnant woman. It is her right to choose to remove the fetus, even if the procedure 'kills' it because it is her body, her right.

Even if it’s a living human it doesn’t have a right to occupy someone else’s body and use their organs to keep themselves alive. For a thought experiment let’s say you voluntarily signed up for 9 months to allow someone with kidney failure to “plug in” (through the miracles of modern medicine) to your body and use your kidneys to keep themselves alive. Even if you stated you’re willing to let this person use your organs for 9 months you should have the bodily autonomy to disconnect yourself from this person at any point in time. It’s not different from a mother deciding to no longer let the child use her body to grow and survive.

That mother will have mental problems and eventually leave the kid at foster care, furthermore, the kid could have mental problems too. They could grow up shamed and know what their father did to its mother.

That's still 1% of people in the world, and the child hasn't even developed a brain yet; it's in the womb and is a fetus who can't do anything.

Every woman are free to choose of their own body don’t matter if they get pregnant with their partner or in a rape, can choose if they wanna have the baby, because it turns in a biggest problem when this woman’s get traumas and their baby’s too because she are don’t ready for be a mom.

The choice to have sex is a very normal thing especially in adults. Also, sometimes people can be using birth control but that doesn't guarantee no pregnancy. And yes rape is a very serious thing but some people don't get abortions because they are forced by those rapists and abusers to keep the child. Sometimes for perverted reasons. This goes much deeper than the surface of what is believed here to have been happening. Also that "innocent life" could end up being harmed by the assaulter/ rapist, or mother herself because of the emotional trauma. Going through something…  Read more

Women should have the right to make a decision about this. Even though cases regarding rape are not common, they do exist. Having a child as a teenager can ruin the life for the parents, as well as for the child.

 @BD59B87  from Louisiana  agreed…2mos2MO

I agree with this sentence because you should never kill a life and it is never justified endless you are a kid who got raped.

 @BD4ZNTDSocialist from Pennsylvania  disagreed…2mos2MO

Abortion comes with way more situations than just "not wanting a child". Abortion should be given to any women who asks for one for many reasons, including their own medical risks The mother should be able to choose herself, rather than choosing a fetus that isn't even breathing yet.

 @BD4YZRM from New York  disagreed…2mos2MO

We should focus more on funding social work programs, adoption agencies, and the foster care system instead of trying to stop people from getting abortions. In addition, what about the women, teens, and literal children who become pregnant due to abuse. What about the babies that have a low chance at surviving, and the pregnancy would put the mother at risk. This isn't just for people who were being careless, abortion protects people in awful circumstances.

 @BD4XJQ2  from Washington D.C.  disagreed…2mos2MO

I believe it’s not that simple because rape needs to be taken into account as well and women have a choice that shouldn’t be determined by a male

 @BD4VQZHNo Labels from Michigan  disagreed…2mos2MO

Brain waves does not mean consciousness, the mother has consciousness and should take priority over the baby. Rape is a terrible thing I agree and any woman who has been subjected to it should have the lawful right to an abortion.

A 4 week embryo can’t even form a thought, can’t feel any emotions, they don’t even know they’re alive.

 @BD4PXJ8 from California  disagreed…2mos2MO

Engaged Abortion

The presented statement makes an assertion, takes it as fact, and provides no supporting arguments for why it should be so. Brain waves at 4 weeks seems to be a concession that life does not begin at conception, but rather at 4 weeks, if the claim is implicitly relying on brain waves as a standard for something being a life. Regardless, the point of when life begins is irrelevant. The issue at hand is bodily autonomy, and the government has no authority to dictate what a person does with their body. This is established through the implied right to privacy in the U.S. constitution and as uphel…  Read more

If you don't want an abortion nobody is standing in your way to have the baby. If you do, you should have that right just the same. Most pro-life people don't care about the science of the issue, it's a religious objection and that has no place in legislation.

 @BD4PB8DPeace and Freedom from Georgia  disagreed…2mos2MO

The unborn, unconscious child's life is not more important than the mother's and her choice. There is no way to one hundred percent prevent the conception of a child when you have sex, accidents do happen, birth control doesn't always work completely, pregnancy is painful, even fatal to the mother in some situations, and people make mistakes. It is inhumane to force a woman to give birth to a child she cannot mentally, physically, or financially take care of regardless of how she became pregnant.

 @BD4P4KNProgressive from Georgia  disagreed…2mos2MO

Life doesn’t begin at conception. Abortion doesn’t impact other people if you don’t like abortions don’t get one. If it can’t live outside the womb it isn’t alive.
