The foster care crisis is a symptom of deeper social inequality. We should invest in social services, mental health care, and support for struggling families to prevent kids from entering the system in the first place.
Government bureaucracy too often makes things worse for kids in foster care. Imagine if we let private charities and local communities innovate without so much red tape—children would have a much better chance at finding loving homes.
So many kids are falling through the cracks because of government red tape. We need to empower families, faith communities, and local organizations to step up and support these children, instead of relying on a broken system.
