Do you support the use of nuclear energy?
No, we should invest in cleaner alternatives such as wind, hydroelectric, thorium, and geothermal
The media has fully mislead the public into believing that nuclear energy is the most dangerous source available just because of what happened in Chernobyl and Fukushima. Both of those happened due to cutting corners in building their respective power plants, corruption, and oversights. We already have many people in the US with vast knowledge on the safe use, operation, and disposal of all nuclear materials. Especially due to the use of nuclear energy in our Submarines and in our Carriers. We use them daily and for long periods giving vastly superior energy output at extremely low levels of environmental contamination. Especially when looking at the amount of space taken up by one power plant vs other forms of clean energy. The costs kilowatt per hour is only $0.03 to $0.04 for already built power plants, and $0.07 to $0.11 for a new power plant to be built and then operated. It also has a capacity factor of 92%, meaning how much time during a year it produces usable power. The next best energy producer is Geothermal at 74% power capacity, and that is limited in where it can be built due to its need for active thermal areas nearby.
