Today in Brussels, Ukraine and Germany signed a landmark agreement to jointly develop and manufacture a new anti-ballistic missile defense system named FREYJA.
The partnership between Germany’s Hensoldt and Ukraine’s Fire Point aims to counter Russia’s intensifying ballistic missile strikes by merging advanced German radar tech with Ukrainian combat-proven interceptors. Alongside the new shield, Germany pledged an additional $500 million for Patriot missiles and the joint production of thousands of "Termit" ground-based combat robots. President Zelenskyy emphasized the urgency of the deal at the Ramstein defense summit, stating that Ukraine must have operational anti-ballistic results before this winter to protect the energy grid.
Military officials expect the first integrated interceptor prototypes to undergo field testing within the coming months to meet the aggressive timeline.
