it should only be allowed if the doctors think its better for the female giving birth and if its harmful to her or the baby. it should also not be allowed unless the women was raped.

  @VulcanMan6  from Kansas  commented…2yrs2Y

Pro-choice, and providing birth control, sex education, and more social services will help reduce the number of abortions

Who is the doctor to say that it's "better" for the woman? If she doesn't want to be pregnant, then not being pregnant anymore is definitionally better, right? What is the doctor determining here?

 @PuddingBertieRepublicanfrom Maine  disagreed…2yrs2Y

It's a valid point that the decision should ultimately lie with the woman. However, doctors can provide valuable medical insight. For instance, there might be health risks associated with the pregnancy or potential complications with the abortion procedure itself. The doctor's role is to provide all necessary medical information, not to make the decision for the woman. On the other hand, some might argue that doctors could potentially be biased, consciously or unconsciously influencing the woman's decision. What do you think could be a solution to this potential issue?

  @VulcanMan6  from Kansas  commented…2yrs2Y

Pro-choice, and providing birth control, sex education, and more social services will help reduce the number of abortions

I agree that doctors are only there to provide the service of medical knowledge and expertise, and that the ultimate decision should remain exclusively with the mother (or whomever the pregnant patient is).

As for your question, I'm unsure how we would directly go about preventing doctors' bias from negatively influencing patients' decisions, without blatantly denying positions from doctors who hold certain biases (which I think would be wrong, to certain extents). However, I think that there are certain things we can do to help prevent certain biases; things like nationalizing…  Read more

 @9XXP96Z from Massachusetts  answered…11mos11MO

It really depends on the circumstances, If the mother is at risk or cannot take care of the child in some circumstances then aboration ONLY in very few cases should be allowed but otherwise no aboration

 @9F86W5Z from Massachusetts  answered…2yrs2Y

Pro-choice but each choice should have an educational component

  @VulcanMan6  from Kansas  commented…2yrs2Y

Pro-choice, and providing birth control, sex education, and more social services will help reduce the number of abortions

What does that mean?

 @9BV77Q5 from Massachusetts  answered…2yrs2Y

Abortion should be illegal, but is legal if they are a minor (under 18), unable to give birth due to compilations that would likely have the mom/baby die, or if they are raped and have a case opened because of it.

  @lemans3427  from California  disagreed…2yrs2Y

Based on data from countries where abortion is illegal, it has been shown that making abortion illegal does not reduce the incidence of abortion. It only increases the number of unsafe abortions, which can lead to serious health complications and even death.

For example, in El Salvador, where abortion is illegal in all circumstances, women who are found guilty of having an abortion can be sentenced to up to 40 years in prison. Despite these strict laws, women still seek to terminate their pregnancies, often resorting to unsafe methods. In fact, unsafe abortions are one of the leading causes of maternal mortality in the country.

What do you think can be done to ensure the safety and well-being of women who need to terminate their pregnancies, while also respecting the rights of the unborn?

 @9D5FB6Q from Massachusetts  answered…2yrs2Y

Abortion well it should be a discussion between Mom and Dad when Mom gets pregnant if they want to keep and or abort the child even in any case whether it's rape of any kind you only have x amount of time and I need a few weeks you know women know women should know within respectfully 30 days if they're pregnant cuz they'll stop menstruating usually white women that have been raped they can get an abortion the next day if they choose to taking a pill you know that's what's okay but not after the first month you get one shot and that's after you miss your first menstrual cycle as a woman being pregnant that's your I want this abortion other than that no you get to keep it if you played you pay

 @8DXR4SG from Massachusetts  answered…5yrs5Y

Pro- Life and providing free birth control, sex education, and more social services that will help reduce the number of abortions.

 @B74L7Y9 from Massachusetts  answered…4 days4D

I am mainly pro-life but it should be okay in cases of rape, incest, danger to the mother or child, or if the family does not have the means to properly support it

 @B6VVWX3 from Massachusetts  answered…2wks2W

Any women should be allowed her right to her body and be able to abort the thing inside of her no matter what the situation was of how the baby was conceived rape, insets, regular sex she has every right to get rid of it.

 @B6TYK7J from Massachusetts  answered…2wks2W

before a certain point in the growth of the child then yah but if your like 8 months(only an example) in and want to get an abortion then hell nah u having that child

 @B6SHDT5 from Massachusetts  answered…2wks2W

pro-life if it was done on purpose, but medically, rape, incest, danger to mother or child, or child to be born with something like downsyndrome or severe autism.

 @B6RXT4M from Massachusetts  answered…3wks3W

Regardless, this should be decided at the state level but there should be exceptions in cases of rape, incest, or danger to the mother or child

 @B6RBFQT from Massachusetts  answered…3wks3W

Regardless, laws on abortion should be decided by state governments, but I am personally pro-life with exceptions for cases of rape, incest, or danger to the mother or child

 @B6FZ24K from Massachusetts  answered…2mos2MO

Women have every right to protect and rule their own bodies. No one else has the right to do it but them.

 @B65C59V from Massachusetts  answered…2mos2MO

Pro-choice, up until the end of the 5th week (this is the time when the neural and heart tube are developed)

 @B5VDXK4 from Massachusetts  answered…3mos3MO

Pro choice, against late term abortions… at some point it’s a baby in there… unless life of mother is at risk

 @B5QBFRS from Massachusetts  answered…4mos4MO

We should allow private abortions, if the individual wants to pay that is fine. but government should stay out.

 @B5J4DSX from Massachusetts  answered…4mos4MO

Pro choice. I don’t agree but government shouldn’t ban it. However after maybe 20 weeks it should be banned

 @B5HQPWV from Massachusetts  answered…4mos4MO

I don't believe there is a clear cut right or wrong answer. There are clearly cases where it should be allowed and others where it shouldn't.

 @B5F2TW7 from Massachusetts  answered…4mos4MO

i think you should have the baby if you did whatever to get it, but i think every women should have the right to, there are so many health concners, and rape cases so yes every women should have the right but giving birth encouraged

 @B58GXSJRepublican from Massachusetts  answered…5mos5MO

I believe it’s your body your choice. If you don’t want to have a child, then get an abortion. The government shouldn’t be allowed to ban abortion.

 @B4S6632 from Massachusetts  answered…5mos5MO

Pro-Choosing Life providing birth control, sex education, and more social services will help reduce the number of abortions

 @B4RRGW4 from Massachusetts  answered…5mos5MO

Pro choice- contraceptives should be free and available to everyone, and sex ed should be taught to everyone

 @B4FZB2X from Massachusetts  answered…6mos6MO

me personally I don't think its a good thing at all, people who get abortions literally kill their own babies

 @B46QNFT from Massachusetts  answered…6mos6MO

Pro-life, but allow if danger to mother/child and up to 16 weeks or when heartbeat or signs of life is detected, whichever is first.

 @B4546S9 from Massachusetts  answered…6mos6MO

Pro-choice, ban after first three months, exceptions to this three month would be in cases of rape, incest, or danger to mother and/or child

 @B3STZ6C from Massachusetts  answered…6mos6MO

As a biological male I find that when it comes to abortion I don't lean towards either side because it should be up to the women carrying the child about whether she wants to keep it or not. But aborting should not be allowed after the first three months.

 @B3DQYN8 from Massachusetts  answered…7mos7MO

I believe people should have the right to an abortion if they so choose, I also believe that it is morally wrong and should be used sparingly.

 @B3D4KYQ from Massachusetts  answered…7mos7MO

I dont like the idea of killing/ murdering babies, but women do deserve their own rights as men also have theirs.

 @B2QQS3SPeace and Freedom from Massachusetts  answered…8mos8MO

only if its under a threat to the child or mother or if it was from rape but also should be accessible only in emergencys.

 @B2GKWRP from Massachusetts  answered…8mos8MO

Abortions should be banned unless the Carrier will have health complications if they deliver. The solution is to make it easier to hand off the child to government services

 @B25BDQ7 from Massachusetts  answered…9mos9MO

Pro-I shouldn’t care about this because I am not a woman and it is none of mine or the governments business to say yes or no

 @B23DPB3 from Massachusetts  answered…9mos9MO

It is the unfortunate ending of a fetal life but abortion should be legal because doctors have said exceptions in abortion bans are not enough to make them feel secure enough to intervene in cases of danger to the mother.

 @9ZYSGHDRepublican from Massachusetts  answered…10mos10MO

Pro-choice, the government has no right to ban certain health care practices, but it is inhumane after 10-12 weeks.

 @9ZMSFYC from Massachusetts  answered…10mos10MO

Abortion should not be funded by tax payers or healthcare paid for by the working class that fund healthcare for losers.

 @9ZK9NMF from Massachusetts  answered…10mos10MO

Ban after the first 2 months, unless mother's life is actually in danger or baby has obvious severe deformities.

 @9ZG3HM9  from Massachusetts  answered…10mos10MO

Pro-choice, it is a decision that should be handled by the states but there should be no laws allowing doctors who perform abortions on out-of-state residents to be criminally liable and there should be laws protecting abortion in the case of danger to the mother or child.

 @9YL5M3H from Massachusetts  answered…11mos11MO

Ban after the first three months, and allow in cases no matter term in instances of rape, incest or danger to mother or child

 @9YBVX23 from Massachusetts  answered…11mos11MO

I believe that you should get the choice to carry or abort in certain circumstances like if someone is a minor or raped or if we can tell there will be issues with the way the kid is going to live but there is something to be said about people just going around a and sleeping with a bunch of people if you weren't impregnated with any of the circumstances I listed above you shouldn't get the choice you should only be having sex when you are ready but if you cant take care of the child due to money or legal issues the child should go into foster care which is an awful situation right now so I believe the first step to fixing the abortion issue is fix the foster care system

 @9Y7CS65Democrat from Massachusetts  answered…11mos11MO

I don't really have an opinion on abortion since I'm never going to have one, but I feel like fathers should have a say in it prior to getting one.

 @9Y4HJNS from Massachusetts  answered…11mos11MO

Pro-choice but if a woman decides to get an abortion after being pregnant for 7+ months, then they need to have a valid reason as to why they want one now when they could've gotten an abortion before the fetus grew. If a woman goes into labor, the labor starts to danger the life of the mother, and a C-Section is not viable, then I support having an abortion

 @9Y2PBDV from Massachusetts  answered…11mos11MO

Pro-choice. No abortion after the first trimester with the exception if it threatens the life of the mother

 @9Y2G6Z4 from Massachusetts  answered…11mos11MO

People should have the decision to make the important choice of their baby's life because there are many cases of people who physically can't keep a baby for the danger of their life, those people deserve the choice to choose. And for those who feel like they can't care for the baby, there should be programs made to where instead of the child being aborted, they could have the chance to be given to a family who can't have their own child for instance. In the end, I believe that the choice of what happens to their child should be made by the birth giver and not by people who are trying to voice their opinions.

 @9XZPSDK from Massachusetts  answered…11mos11MO

Pro-life unless the person is underage, a rape victim, incest, in danger, or not in a good financial state

 @9XVGG7WLibertarian from Massachusetts  answered…11mos11MO

Pro Doctor's choice. each individual doctor should be given the right to choose whether or not to administer an abortion but no such regulations should be maintained by the government.

 @9XS6TPN from Massachusetts  answered…11mos11MO

Pro-life, but can only occur after 18 weeks of pregnancy due to rape, incest, poor standard of life, and danger to the mother or child. The government also does not have a right to ban it.

 @9XQK7BW from Massachusetts  answered…11mos11MO

Pro-choice, but not if the pregnancy is planned, the parents are under circumstances where they can have a child (ex. their financially stable) and they are not minors.

 @9XMKJDH from Massachusetts  answered…11mos11MO

The government should have no stance on abortion and all funding to organizations supporting abortions should be removed. All abortion procedures should be paid out of pocket unless a unique circumstance has occurred (i.e. - rape)

 @9XLKL9X from Massachusetts  answered…11mos11MO

It matter how old they are if they are under 18 yes or if they where raped or something yes but if they are a legal adult then no if they are poor give them up even though its sad.

 @9XK2W6Y from Massachusetts  answered…11mos11MO

Abortion should be allowed for rape, incest, and life of the mother. Also it should be legal during the first trimester or at least a reasonable time after the pregnancy is learned of. But last minute late term Abortion for no other reason than I don't want it should be illegal.

 @9XFJHHX from Massachusetts  answered…11mos11MO

I think you cant have an abortion unless you were harmed such as, rape, incest, and other dangers that had happened to the mother for her to get pregnant.

 @9XF67FBRepublican from Massachusetts  answered…11mos11MO

I don't really know because I feel like people shouldn't kill their babies but it depends on some scenarios

 @9X9P2ZZ  from Massachusetts  answered…11mos11MO

Only supposed abortion if it’s going to cause the person giving birth issues with them being the one who’s going to die

 @9X8NPC9Republican from Massachusetts  answered…11mos11MO

It is a personal choice and the government should not fund it at all. If a person seeks an abortion that person should fund it.

 @9X4MF5N from Massachusetts  answered…11mos11MO

"And since a man can't make one, He no right to tell a women when and where to create one"-Tupac Shukar

But just like my brother in Christ,God does. So I'm Pro-life, but allow in cases of rape, incest,Childern or danger to the mother abortion should be allowed, But not for people who had sex who knew the risk,took it and now are surprised with the results.

 @9X4D86W from Massachusetts  answered…11mos11MO

Every child as soon as they are born should take something such as a birth control that could prevent unwanted children. With future technology this might be possible.

 @9WXFBT7 from Massachusetts  answered…11mos11MO

Pro-choice, but limited to rape, incest, health/life of the mother, and viability of the fetus--which is roughly 20-24 weeks

 @9WW9MW6 from Massachusetts  answered…11mos11MO

pro choice because a woman should be able to choose whether or not they can have a child or give birth to said child.

 @9WSV6LS from Massachusetts  answered…11mos11MO

I feel no one should ever abort a child, the more the better so reproduction continues or if you don't want a child, you can go to an adoption center, because you never know how many other women can't have one or want one.

 @9WRT6HQ from Massachusetts  answered…11mos11MO

Pro-choice but ban after the first 4-5 and maybe 6th months. Also allow in cases of rape, incest, or danger to the mother or child.

 @9WP4JS6 from Massachusetts  answered…11mos11MO

I feel like if you can take plan b and the pregnancy is over and nothing has to be "killed" than its humane

 @9WLQGYY from Massachusetts  answered…11mos11MO

Abortion should never be allowed. God created everyone for a purpose to be here. so No abortion should not happen even if it was rape or danger.

 @9WKZF5RRepublican from Massachusetts  answered…11mos11MO

Abortion should be illegal but once the pregnant women is at a certain age. If she is a teen mom or was raped she should be allowed to have an abortion.

 @9WKFP6RPeace and Freedom from Massachusetts  answered…11mos11MO

if da baby is still being fertilized then yes but if the baby is alive in there and is forming then no

 @9WDPNFD from Massachusetts  answered…11mos11MO

Pro-choice, but the women has to be limited, back round check, and under certain circumstances or rape, incest, danger to mother or child, or mother is unable to have a kid at the time. People should not just be able to have sex and just get an abortion if they happen to get pregnant because or irrisponsibility.

 @9WDCDTT from Massachusetts  answered…11mos11MO

I believe schools should have more sex education and also make sex contraceptives more available like in school bathrooms. But also abortion should be allowed in cases of rape or incest or even woman under the age of 21.

 @9WD6DS8 from Massachusetts  answered…11mos11MO

I shouldn't be banned at all for anyone. What about the victims of rape? It's cruel having to give birth to a child that was forced on you and the people who can die giving birth. It's just cruel.

 @9WBX2KR from Massachusetts  answered…11mos11MO

Pro-Life. No abortion in cases of rape or incest with a detectable heartbeat. Permit with danger to the mother if the child is not viable. Always attempt to save mother and child if medically possible.

 @9W93GDP from Massachusetts  answered…11mos11MO

Pro-Choice, and provide better sex education practices in school, and provide more social services to reduce the number of pregnancies.

 @9W8BZM5 from Massachusetts  answered…11mos11MO

Pro-Choice, but add limits to when you can have an abortion, unless it is a medical emergency. It should not be up to the government to decide if people live or die, which violates the Fourteenth Amendment.

 @9W5QY28Republican from Massachusetts  answered…11mos11MO

I believe women should have the right to abortion but they should be told the truth that a child is being killed and it is not just a clump of cells being removed. There should also be limits on how late into the pregnancy they can abort the child.

 @9W5YVLJ from Massachusetts  answered…11mos11MO

Killings children should not be okay I understand its the woman's body but that does not give any right to kill a child for the benefit of the woman its common logic not to kill another if you don't have to and for the woman who have been raped if they don't want the kid they should just put the child up for adoption instead of killing the child. In conclusion abortion should not be allowed and if the woman doesn't want the kid there is plenty of adoption homes that will gladly welcome the child.

 @9VSHMHM from Massachusetts  answered…11mos11MO

Pro life, only allow it in severe cases such as Rape, incest or danger to the mother or child and also try to provide information about birth, control, sex education, and more social services that will help teach people so we do not need abortions.

 @9VS2VW6 from Massachusetts  answered…11mos11MO

Pro-choice however after a certain amount of months unless I believe its murder unless theirs complications with the pregnancy, then save the woman always

 @9VRDLF6 from Massachusetts  answered…11mos11MO

I would say when the baby gets its first heartbeat, and you get an abortion then you would be killing life (hypothetically). But if you have an abortion before that then yes, especially if you got raped. And I would say you can only get an abortion if you got raped, besides that then NO. But it depends on the situation.

 @9VMX72K from Massachusetts  answered…12mos12MO

If the child was planned to have, you must keep the child. If the child was a result of rape etc. then you may abort.

 @9VMVTHYRepublican from Massachusetts  answered…12mos12MO

It should be allowed for unplanned parenthood and rape, incest, and danger towards the mother and child

 @9VFMWMRLibertarian from Massachusetts  answered…12mos12MO

I agree that abortion is killing of a child and very wrong to do, especially if there is no other reason than just to not want the child. However, if it endangered the life of the pregnant woman, or an incest case that would harm the mother, I would not be completely closed off to agreeing with an abortion. However, I am still against the idea of having an abortion in rape cases.

 @9VFJ474Republican from Massachusetts  answered…12mos12MO

if your life is at risk from the child then abort it, if you are having unprotected intercourse then that you should keep the baby, if you got sexually abused by a trusted adult or other then that should be your choice or abort it. everyone should have there own decisions

 @9VCNVY8 from Massachusetts  answered…12mos12MO

I’m both. Shouldn’t be used as birth control but can be done if medically necessary due to physical (not mental) health of mother. If the mother dies so does the baby. But we need to stop funding abortions for those that just “regret” getting pregnant

 @9VBV5ZYDemocrat from Massachusetts  answered…12mos12MO

The government has no right to ban abortion but there should be a clear reason why the mother wants to get abortion.

 @9V9RDGN from Massachusetts  answered…12mos12MO

Ban after the first trimester but allow in the second and third trimester in cases of rape, incest, or danger to the mother or child or severe illness of the child.

 @9V6QVWR from Massachusetts  answered…12mos12MO

if the woman who wants to get the abortion was forcefully put into the situation via sexual harrasment i feel like it would be a valid reason, But if the woman is in a good standing where they can provide for their family and have enough income I feel like they would want to do it for no reason I feel like it depends on the persons reason. I'm Pro choice

 @9V3464S from Massachusetts  answered…12mos12MO

I personally do not believe in it except in cases or rape incest and health but also support a woman’s right to choose. Only caveat is of not rape etc then elective before viability

 @9TZ6GTB from Massachusetts  answered…12mos12MO

Don't a human that can feel something that was on purpose should be killed, but victims of ___ should have the right to not have children especially under age women.

pro-life. abortion is murderer. the only case that it can happens is when the mothers life is in danger.

 @9TLXZ4Q from Massachusetts  answered…1yr1Y

if you get raped and become pregnant you should be able to get one and if you get pregnant at a younger age

 @9TL9TPP from Massachusetts  answered…1yr1Y

Pro-choice, but restrict abortions after six months for, medical emergencies and fatal fetal anomalies.

 @9THB8QDWomen’s Equality from Massachusetts  answered…1yr1Y

I think if you are raped and get pregnant you should be able to and if you are like young and get pregnant you should be able to

 @9TGGSWM from Massachusetts  answered…1yr1Y

Pro-choice, but ban after the first 5 months. unless there are circumstances where keeping the baby would cause medical harm to the mother or child.

 @9SPSFY6Women’s Equality from Massachusetts  answered…1yr1Y

Both and neither. People should be allowed to abort the babies in cases of rape, incest, or dangers to the mother or/and child but they should also get sex education and birth controls to help reduce the number of abortions.
