Men don’t own women. If a man really wants a kid, he can adopt.

 @99KHCPJDemocrat from Minnesota  commented…3yrs3Y

That’s ridiculous. If a man wants a child so badly, he has other options. Why is his choice given precedence over the woman’s? What about the child being born into such a toxic environment without a choice at all? Not to mention if the man was you- please do not reproduce.

Incidentally, the baby doesn't have a choice in abortion, either. And all y'all dems make me laugh. You last line is one of the worst insults I've heard in years.

 @8994C3S from North Carolina  commented…4yrs4Y

obviously someone in a committed monogamous relationship would want to discuss an abortion, otherwise the trust between them might be shattered. But also, not every pregnancy fits that description. So in the absence of a partner it would be strictly the pregnant persons decision.

 @jade16 from Montana  disagreed…9mos9MO

Of course, the men who always knocks up a woman wants a baby. NO. ABSOLUTELY NOT. Some men who get women pregnant don't even want the child and same goes for the women. If they don't want a child they don't need to have a child. Men do not control us women. We control ourselves.

My humble opinion on abortion. I believe we can justify killing children

I would like to pose a question for you all and share my thought process on this. My belief is that killing can be justified if the purpose is to prevent undue suffering. If someone, say an irresponsible teenager becomes impregnated and doesn't have the means to support a child, as is all too common among this age group, what should be done in this scenario? What if the child burdens the teenagers capacity to complete schoolwork and further their own life goals? From their narrow and naive point of view it seems likely they could antagonize the child for preventing them from succeeding…  Read more

i dont give a crap about what the mother wants if I had to choose my life or a baby's life I would choose the baby's life let it live . I don't care if the mother is not fit enough to care for the child there's such a thing as foster care how would you feel if your mother aborted you and you had to die in her womb very slowly? i don't care if the woman wants an abortion the baby's life matters more than the mother's life read "what to expect when you expecting" what's good for the mother is good for the baby what's bad for the mother is bad for the baby now flip it around what's bad for the baby is bad for the mother simple logic

Abortion is the one of cruelist things possible, people believe that babies aren't even born yet when in reality they are, and with abortion, babies are literally being ripped apart inside the mother taken out piece by piece in their weakest moment of the very life that is being taken away from them.

Pro-life; I am vehemently opposed to abortion as it is a form of homicide. It is a scientific fact that human life begins at conception, and 96% of biologists will tell you that (or you can simply google "when does human life begin").

Abortion is homicide. The irresponsibility of your actions should not and does not excuse the slaughter of another human. Abortion is a gruesome procedure that either starves, suctions up, dismembers, or decapitates the youngest members of the human family. It is no better than slavery, and it is the greatest human rights tragedy of all-time.

My view on abortion is not a religious one, it is one deeply rooted in science and medicine. Human life begins at conception: this is a consensus among 96% of biologists, and a scientific fact that we have proven over and over again within the field of…  Read more

 @9BWPNG6 from Indiana  answered…2yrs2Y

Pro-Life ~ People should be responsible for their actions. Don't abort the baby if you just had sex and realized that you don't want it anymore. Abortions are not good for anyone. People just want the sex, without the children part. You should've known that sex is still reproductive and if you don't want children, then don't have sex at all. Of course rape and incest is obviously wrong, but if your case is just being dumb in the moment then you don't just throw the baby away. Also, Rape is not just a bad sexual experience, it's forceful and unwanted. They should make it so that women can't just cry rape to get what they want.

I understand your point of view. However, it is important to understand that rape is a serious issue that affects many women. It is not just a "bad sexual experience," as you put it. It is a violent act that can leave lasting physical and emotional scars.

Regarding your statement that women can "cry rape to get what they want," this is a harmful and false stereotype. The vast majority of reported rapes are genuine, and it is essential to take victims seriously and provide them with support and justice.

At 6 weeks it has a heartbeat, so

 @IntellectualQuestDemocrat from Ohio  disagreed…2yrs2Y

It's true that a fetal heartbeat can be detected around 6 weeks, but it's important to note that the heart is not yet fully formed at this stage. Instead, it's a group of cells generating electrical activity. For instance, brain development is still in its early stages and the fetus is not yet capable of feeling pain or having consciousness. When considering the right to bodily autonomy for the pregnant individual, how do we balance this with the developing fetus? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this aspect.

  @TruthHurts101 from Washington  corrected…2yrs2Y

Pro-life, and I also oppose abortion for victims of rape and incest

The baby has the same right to "bodily autonomy" that the woman has and someone's right to life is greater than anyone's "right" to privacy. I'm sure the baby would object to his murder if he could speak, and would wave the same "hands off our bodies," signs that you anti-Lifers wave.

  @Renaldo-MoonGreen  from Pennsylvania  commented…11mos11MO

If an unborn baby has the same right to bodily autonomy as an adult, then that means a child should be able to get a tattoo, smoke, drink, and receive gender affirming treatments, which I don't think you believe...

 @IntellectualQuestDemocrat from Ohio  disagreed…2yrs2Y

It's a compelling argument that both the pregnant individual and the fetus should have bodily autonomy. However, considering that a fetus is entirely dependent on the pregnant person's body for sustenance and development, there's a major distinction between their respective rights to bodily autonomy. For instance, the famous "violinist analogy" by philosopher Judith Jarvis Thomson explains that even if you were attached to a famous violinist who would die if detached from you, you would still have the right to detach and protect your own bodily autonomy despite the violinist's right to life.

I'm curious to know how you would address this distinction in rights when it comes to the pregnant person and the fetus. Can you provide a counterargument or a solution to balance these competing rights?

The right to life must succeeds the right to bodily autonomy this is descriptive. If you don't have life then you can't make a decision about bodily autonomy though the inverse is true if you are tied up you are still alive.

The point them comes to if the fetus human. We can determine this by understanding what makes us human. The DNA that is combined at conception is what makes us different from the chimpanzees and the lizards since the fetus has human rights. Human rights are the rights that pertain to be human this doesn't grant them the right to vote or anything like that but allows them to have the right to life meaning that there right to life supercedes the mothers right to bodily autonomy.

 @5QXSKLVRepublican  from Kentucky  answered…10mos10MO

I am pro-choice because I believe that women have the right to make decisions about their own bodies. However, beyond supporting the right to choose, it is essential to focus on comprehensive measures that can reduce the number of abortions overall. By providing accessible birth control options, ensuring thorough and factual sex education, and expanding social services that support families and individuals, we can create an environment where unintended pregnancies are less likely to occur. These proactive steps empower people with knowledge, resources, and support, promoting informed choices and better overall health outcomes for society. Ensuring comprehensive support systems helps individuals make decisions that are right for them, while also fostering healthier and more informed communities.
