No they aren't. In bad cases yes, but they are a method of self protection. See if you keep the same opinion when you get mugged or when someone is breaking into your house.

Are the police with you in your home when someone breaks in? Is there normally a police officer walking with you down a dark street? No.

A firearm is a tool that allows individuals to assert a human right to protect their life, those of their loved ones, and those of strangers if they so choose.

Police forces are great assets when they can get to a scene of an emergency in time. However, there are many instances crimes unfold before a call to 911 can even be placed. Expert Gun Control

The police have no legal duty to protect the populace, let alone any specific individual.

Police officers have murdered, framed, and abused several innocent persons.

In many cities, police responses are usually slower than pizza orders.

In order of my guess at how common each use is:

  • Range shooting of targets (shooting paper, plinking, skeet, etc.)
  • Hunting
  • Defense (a proper defense requires being ready to kill, but attackers often flee or surrender)
  • Being a decorative or collectible "no use" item

This is blatantly untrue. Just like millions of Americans, i myself have used a gun for self protection without firing a single shot. Its a deterrent but yes its true that if you own a gun for self defense you cant be scared to use it if needed. And yes sometimes to save your own like you must take the life of someone else even when you don't want to.

I have never touched a gun in my life (other than a BB gun). I tend to lean mor toward gun restriction and even I would say that is just not true.

Number 1 who are you telling to stay out of this? I believe that is called night communication.

Number 2: Guns are not just used to kill. In fact there are some guns where i think it would just be easier to use my bare hands.

Number 3: Are there messes up people? Yes! Are all people messed up? No! Depending on what that statement was supposed to mean I feel like other that a few comments people have been pretty chill. There are background checks to prevent the wrong people from getting guns. They may not be a super effective solution but it is something and it does help.

Number 4: See the last part is just offensive. I was offended and I don’t even have a gun.

Elizabeth Warren Walks Back Murder Comments

Congressional Democrats broadly denounced the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson Friday morning, after Republicans started accusing Sen. Elizabeth Warren of excusing violence.“No one's condoning this,” said Rep. Brad Schneider (D-Ill.). “Violence never is the right answer for anything. And it was a horrible murder, a tragic loss for his family.” Warren this week condemned the shooting, but added that people “can be pushed only so far.”"We'll say it over and over," Warren said on MSNBC’S “The ReidOut.” " Violence is never the answer. This guy [Luigi Mangione] gets a trial who's allegedly killed the CEO of UnitedHealth, but you can only push people so far, and then they start to take matters into their own hands."In a statement to POLITICO, Warren said, “Violence is never the answer. Period. I should have been much clearer that there is never a justification for murder.” Top Republicans denounced Warren's comments and the walked-back rhetoric, with House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-La.) calling it “inappropriate and dangerous.”Some House Democrats asked about the incident on Thursday pivoted the conversation to discuss policy options on health care or gun safety.“I don't really know that this is really a space that Congress normally weighs in on,” said Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas). “But at the end of the day, I think it’s an opportunity, because now people are talking about health care and to talk about the fact that this industry has honestly not been as helpful as it could be.”“Violence is never the answer,” said Rep. Troy Carter (D-La.). “We know that there are people suffering, there’s great challenges in healthcare. There's great challenges, and people have, in fact, been wronged, but a process of governance is the way to address that, not violence.”And Rep. Ted Lieu (D-Calif.) who denounced the murder, said the killer should be prosecuted and that “I do know that allegedly a ghost gun was used, and we should also ban ghost guns. There's no reason for them beyond the streets.”
