I am not a huge fan of automation replacing the jobs of hard-working American citizens. I understand that it is a symbol of progress but there are jobs that people are losing as a result of this and this can cause harm.

As a software engineer, I am nervous about generative AI replacing parts of my job and reducing the extent of my field. However, I think the benefits of generative AI will be far greater than any detriments to me personally or society at large. I am confident that I will be able to find employment regardless.

No the topic of neoliberisam and the idea that the customer is always right is not correct or fair to workers. There have been many scenarios as a retail worker that customers have abused their authority using this and have fired innocent workers.

If I was subsidized as little as $500 a month, I could actually afford to take a risk on starting my own business. I’ve had a business model for years, and I know there’s a market for it, but I just can’t take the risk of having zero income until my business starts turning a profit, and my current job won’t allow me to go part time. My back hurts from the physical demands of my job, and I never could afford college. I don’t want a cushy office job anyways, I want to DO things! Having a little cash to help pay bills wouldn’t make me work less, it would allow me to work more actually.

As we can see from Reagans regime, it doesn't exactly work as advertised. I am something of an anti-capitalist, and I find it hard to see how any adjustments of this nature could fix such a flawed system.

I would be concerned because libraries are already losing the interest of the public due to the internet. If it became subscription based, even less people are likely to seek them out. The wealthy aren't likely to seek out a library and low income communities that benefit from them likely won't be able to use them anymore.

Elizabeth Warren Walks Back Murder Comments

Congressional Democrats broadly denounced the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson Friday morning, after Republicans started accusing Sen. Elizabeth Warren of excusing violence.“No one's condoning this,” said Rep. Brad Schneider (D-Ill.). “Violence never is the right answer for anything. And it was a horrible murder, a tragic loss for his family.” Warren this week condemned the shooting, but added that people “can be pushed only so far.”"We'll say it over and over," Warren said on MSNBC’S “The ReidOut.” " Violence is never the answer. This guy [Luigi Mangione] gets a trial who's allegedly killed the CEO of UnitedHealth, but you can only push people so far, and then they start to take matters into their own hands."In a statement to POLITICO, Warren said, “Violence is never the answer. Period. I should have been much clearer that there is never a justification for murder.” Top Republicans denounced Warren's comments and the walked-back rhetoric, with House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-La.) calling it “inappropriate and dangerous.”Some House Democrats asked about the incident on Thursday pivoted the conversation to discuss policy options on health care or gun safety.“I don't really know that this is really a space that Congress normally weighs in on,” said Rep.
