A gun's primary purpose is supposedly for hunting according to gun advocates, so if is not being used for that purpose then gun manufacturers should be held liable for their misuse to make sure they have a stake in how their products are being used.

Guns are also essential for self-defense and making criminals fear innocent civilians. Banning such weapons would cause criminals to be emboldened.

That has been proven to not work. Criminals do not fear locations with guns.

A car is not intended to be driven while intoxicated, so if driven by a drunk driver, auto manufacturers should be held liable for misuse to make sure they have a stake in how their products are being used... Ridiculous, right? A gun actually has 2 primary purposes- protection and hunting. If misused, it's the fault of the person who misuses it, not the gun manufacturer. Just like Ford isn't liable for someone who kills with a car, gun manufacturers are not responsible for the actions of criminals or people who irresponsibly handle a weapon.

If someone is going to buy a gun and hurt someone, they will always find a way. We should be focusing more on the mental health of the community that could lead to this type of action.

What you need to understand is people are not supporting the misuse of guns, we are supporting guns for hunting and self-protection. There are many different uses of guns. There are right ways, and wrong ways just like everything has good ways and bad ways to use them. That's like saying, " The washer machine is bad because someone got locked in and died. " Like, No, It was used in the wrong way. There are many ways to use things. People just have to know how to use it correctly.

Companies that sell knives, axes, baseball bats, and hammers aren’t sued when someone uses them to hurt someone else.

Companies shouldn't be liable for customers choosing to do something with their product. It makes no sense to sue a car company because someone decided to ram into pedestrians with it, it makes no sense to sue gun companies because someone shot someone.

1. Guns are designed to kill and the second amendment isn’t for hunting. 2. You don’t blame car manufacturers when someone mows over kids playing in the street.

Why would we not hold the manufacturers of the murder product responsible when people murder with them..? Why do we allow them to keep making products designed for murder in the first place? It's insane.

Guns aren’t just made for hunting. The 2nd amendment is for defence against criminals and and tyrants. It does not talk about hunting . The argument that you couldn’t use them against a tyrannical government is stupid in my opinion, The Taliban and the Vietcong beat the U.S military with worse and less modern small Arms.

The 2nd Amendment specifically mentions having a "well-regulated militia". Also those who support the 2nd Amendment are perfectly fine with tyrannical policies.

I'm afraid I have to disagree with this because, even though they sold the product, it does not mean they were a part of it. It's like if you sell a Chromebook and someone uses it to hack into a system, then they get caught and then they try to sue you because you sold it to them. That would not be fair. Their job is to sell products for a living and be able to make money so they can put food on the table for their loved ones. I don't think that it would be fair to try to sue someone who had no idea what the person was going to do with the product, then turn around and get sued…  Read more

Yes but a gun's sole purpose is to kill things, so without a gun those who would want to kill others would have a much harder time of doing it.

Because that is the only way to make them want to change things so that people who want to make bad decisions aren't able to get the guns that make them capable of doing those things.

If a product is used in a way the manufacturer does not intend they have no responsibility.

Elizabeth Warren Walks Back Murder Comments

Congressional Democrats broadly denounced the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson Friday morning, after Republicans started accusing Sen. Elizabeth Warren of excusing violence.“No one's condoning this,” said Rep. Brad Schneider (D-Ill.). “Violence never is the right answer for anything. And it was a horrible murder, a tragic loss for his family.” Warren this week condemned the shooting, but added that people “can be pushed only so far.”"We'll say it over and over," Warren said on MSNBC’S “The ReidOut.” " Violence is never the answer. This guy [Luigi Mangione] gets a trial who's allegedly killed the CEO of UnitedHealth, but you can only push people so far, and then they start to take matters into their own hands."In a statement to POLITICO, Warren said, “Violence is never the answer. Period.
