Which political ideology do you most identify with?
In your opinion, is environmental protection a central aspect of progressivism, and why?
However, the kind of policies proposed by progressives are without benefit, and massively counterproductive. Carbon labels in the earth's atmosphere are almost completely unaffected by industrial burning, and are not significantly responsible for the earth's heat retention. The vast majority of the greenhouse effect is achieved by water vapor. Climate change alarmists are completely without basis for their predictions of disaster, which always turn out to be wrong. And there is nothing that wastes more resources than climate change legislation, which costs trillions of dollars in taxes, production costs, and government grants. Moreover, many climate change initiatives are environmentally destructive, such as strip mining for rare earth minerals to be used in electric car batteries, or clearing thousands of acres of land to build a wind farm, which only produces the energy equivalent of one oil derrick, which can be established on very little land.
